Haha. Lippi should not be Italy's coach. He is stubborn as all hell and things he is God's gift to man. This second spell as Italy has been horrible. He refuses to call up Italy's most talented player, but doesnt have a problem with players like Pepe, who is not national team level.

Italy could actually have a good WC if they played a 4-3-2-1-2 with-

--De Rossi-Pirlo-Aquilani

----Pazzini---Quagliarella---

even with that lineup they would still have great players like Rossi on the bench. Cassano and Pazzini are perfect together. Motta needs to be called up. I would do everything to get Nesta to replace Canna as captain

Nesta and Totti both stated after the 06 World Cup that they retired from the NT. It's not that Lippi doesn't want to call these players, its that he has to respect their decisions and can't.


And I absolutely agree with all the posters above. Kala can play as our resident striker option

I cant believe a Kala double WTF...LOL. looking forward to the game in October against Italy in Dublin I will be in attendance...

if Lippi offered Nesta the armband, he might reconsider. He is much better than Canna right now. And Lippi doesnt care, he is said to be begging Totti to come back instead of calling up Casano

its sad we could have gotten 4-5 million for him this offseason but decided not to sell.

am i the only one who sees how similar Italy and Milan are right now? playing old players that brought them glory in the past instead of young talented players. They are also both controlled by senile old men (Lippi and Berlu) that refuse to bring new players in, instead prefering "great champions"

Amauri and cassano need to be called up to the italian team

Del Piero definately has a place in Azzuri. And above all Amauri if he is to play for Italia. But this Kaladze miracle was really something.... my god he really is back!

No I also see this problem , but the strange thing is Italy don't have to buy their players. They are already there and dying to play for their country.

You know what the sadder aspect of this thought is?

Its that when you think of putting in the young talented players into the team, none of them (bar perhaps Abate) will actually come from Milan's setup

And here we keep priding ourselves for fielding the most Italian Internationals, no more....
