You can say what you want about him, but the old gaffer knows how to throw a party

While at Milan Gourcuff was mediocure at best. And I know that some people say he didnt get a chance he got plenty even if it wasn't 8 games in a row. When you get a chance you take it he got several and took none of them. So he went on loan played well and got sold end of story on Yoann.
ok my whole problem is that when you loan a player out it is expected that the extra playing time will allow them to improve as players. When a player is allowed to play, it allows for their talent to develop. He never got a chance to play consitently at Milan, when he got a chance to he was dominant in France. 15 mil is a high enough number that Borduiex would only buy him if he played very well, which is what happened. that is exactly what was hoped when he was sent away. if he had sucked, he would be back in Milan. that is so so dumb by the management.

Yes I agree it is a bad move now but if Milan got 15 mil last summer I honestly don't think anyone would of had a problem with it. He was ordinary at Milan and if he never left and stayed he probably still would be. He did need the consistent playing time , did get plenty of games at Milan but not 8 or 9 ina row. Sh1t I just contradicted myself...notice how I never mentioned his name I will refer to him like this in future....

i dont disagree about taking 15 mil last summer. my issue is that when you loan a player you want them to improve so they can come back to your team and contribute. adding a clause that allows the team to buy the player after the loan just allows them to keep him if he plays well (which is the original desired result)

The reason being, IMO, that he was played behind the strikers.

I concur with you guys. Pirlo has no legs. He gets tired early in the regular MF position because he has to run a lot. By putting him behind the strikers he can use his creativity that everyone is in awe of. He may not be as quick as an in-form Kaka or Dinho but he surely can send balls to the right players at the precise time. Leo should try him in this position. Dinho must also be made aware of the fact that he can benched at any given time. He should be told that he is just as important as any other player.

However it should also be remembered that at Milan, Pirlo has never played as well as he has played with the Azzuri.

Recently, or all the time?

I agree during the past two years, but not before that. He was Milan. People forget too easily.

Maybe its because with Italy he has a better team around him , the Juve players looked very good last night. But Grosso always plays better for the Azzuri

I've been moaning about him playing too deep in Milan for a year now, this unfortunately is nothing new. I get the feeling Leo is probably aware of Pirlo's greater effectiveness closer to the attack now but he's limited to playing him deep due to the tactical restrictions placed on him. Until we can either push Dinho out wide or out of the team, Pirlo cannot move up the field and is forced to continue in a deep role.

It's not a case of him having no legs. It's incorrect use of his abilities. In the past Pirlo's position was difficult for opponents to track due to the tactical innovation he brought to the game and the fact he could distribute the ball quickly. 5 years later in a team that lost it's movement and doing exactly the same thing resulted in opponents knowing how to stop him, and they were aided as Pirlo can only do his role if our players move, which they haven't done and don't do now.

This has been the case in Milan for 2 years now, and in Italy, Pirlo suffers the same when they've been static and stale.

Anyway, what interests me the most is the second part of your post, is it serious ? What sponsor will give us all that money ? And why would we invest all ?

I disagree with the last part of your post where you criticize, but you don't decide when you receive the money ... what would be logical would be to spend for example 65-70M of that money and keep the other amount of it to balance the books. If we are really to receive those 100M and if we spend 100M, I would say that our management is unlogical in the way they run the club (let's see what will happen).
Geo you make a lot of fun of me, but in munerous cases I do say the truth when you look at the things at the end. Its just that in the end noone feels need to say "yes, you were right". But it doesnt matter.

Look, the fact that UEFa and FIFA are simple money making organisations who do everything they need to make money is so clear that is doesnt need any firm proofs, if only needs a bit of mind-using. DO NOT LISTEN to TV news

There is so much going on in UEFa domaine and so little has been punished. Richest clubs have never been punished for milion illegal things they do all the time and never will. Noone will punish Perez coz the bank of Spain invested 350mln euro in their money-making club ( Real Madrid ) and they can now do whatever they want. It is NOT a conspiracy that suddenly amerged, it is a normal way for UEFA to work and to make such enormus money in every way they can. ( Platini comes out and says: its not ok...oh, well...) If Platini is so fair-play man - where are his calary caps, his restrictions of payment to the clubs he "promised" etc. Nowhere, coz he is a little frechman ( not connected to you Geo, I like France more then you as it seems by your posts, haha ) that is famous and "leads" UEFA. UEFA is led by enourmous companies that make enourous money and try to keep it. The punishment for EPL clubs are not a part of a divine "fair-play", but a part of something deeper. That is what I think. I said it like I say everything and I explained it nicely enough. Please dont start a fight unless someone has something constructive to say.

On Berlusconi: I've also said ( like Brasiliero said things about players and brasilian defenders but for 2 years people refused to believe it...) that he'll not invest the money we got from the players and that Milan will not go into any new circle and that its all just fancy talk during the period after we sold Kaka' and Yoan. People believed Berlusconi, and they got nothing, as I said to you. Berlusconi has no more money to invest in Milan, and he'll not invest any more. Milan earned about 150mln this summer, spent 15. Curva sud was given 5000 free tickets and suddenly they are with Silvio and are not protesting anymore?? Shamefull...those are not ultras.

Berlusconi to ruin Milan is not a conspiracy theory it is a REALITY that started to happen. Please open your eyes and look a bit further then papers and his statemants. Berlusconi sold what he could, except Pato. We dont know what will happen to Pato, the culb is not sold yet. If Berlusconi wanted to sell a part (35%) of Milan in the winter - did he had to sell 2 players worth 80mln few months earlyer?? no. ( please dont say for books coz its a circus that all of you suddenly started to believe in and repeat it constantly. Ask Morratti about books, Juve also. )Why was the deal with Madrid struck so early and actually so inapropriate for Milan's squad ( small payment 65mln and no players)? Coz Milan wants money, not players.

Milan will not win scudetto or CL. If we dont sell part of the club they will sell Pato in the summer to balance "books". Berlusconi:"KAka' money will be reinvested in the team." Enough said about him and his work "for" Milan nowdays.

Berlusconi IS ruining Milan and it is happening right now. Only way for Milan is to be sold becouse only goal for Berlusconi ( fininvest )is to make money, and football clubs dont do that actually! Silvio wanted to buy Inter before he bought Milan. He is not a rossonero fan, he is a politician that needed a way into public. No money, no love for Milan today.

I hopo I answered fairly.
-------------------------------

About the news, I think it was Corrierre. no, 150 will not be invested at once, Rafinha, Bale, Silva and Beckham were mentioned. Its about some arabian guy who already has 2% of Milan etc. If I find out more I will tipe it in here. And no, the using of 100mln in mercato will not ruin the club coz "the books were balanced" and becouse there are many other ways in which big clubs balance bodget and those are not sales of players but tv, marketing etc. Also, next year we'll have Fly Emirates on our shirts for 20mln per year. Maybe we'll buy one player for 5 mln from that 80 mln they will cash in for the next 4 years!

Cheers.

I made fun of you but I didn't want to offend you, if it's the case, I'm sorry. It was really for fun (people who go on the chat know I joke a lot) ...

About UEFA and FIFA being associations wanting more and more money, I don't disagree, and for example, the last changes in the CL, you know, the games between champions of their country and the other games between the teams ending 3rd or 4th of their championship, it's officially ethical like it allows some countries to have their champion in CL, which never happened in the past, but it's also a way to make more and more money by developping football in these countries. Anyway, I don't see any problem with this ?

The problem of money comes to my mind when for the draw of CL, Marseille can play in 2 groups, they are drawed in a group which isn't ours, but because of TV rights, UEFA puts them with us ... this thing is totally unfair, but noone thinks it is as even the Marseille president said "it's ok".

About what happens to some English clubs, the fact is that some clubs (French clubs: firstly Lens for Chelsea and it seems Marseille joined the bandwagon) requested an investigation against this club because one of their player, under 18, so with no contract except a pre-contract already signed, broke this pre-contract after Chelsea contacted them and asked them to do so if they wanted to come to Chelsea (and between Lens and Chelsea, the choice is quickly done in terms of football and money ...). So the guy broke this pre-contract and went to Chelsea, Chelsea welcoming a young player for free (which is stupid as the guy wouldn't have cost more than 100K for example). If no club asks for an investigation, these clubs doing these things won't be punished. If they do, these clubs can be punished.

If we see the same kind of investigation asked by some minor club (I bet it will be again some French club !! ) against some Spanish or Italian club, and if there is no punishment, then, you will be able to say "unfair from UEFA", but for moment, there is no investigation asked against clubs from these two countries ... Let's wait and see, and anyway, the judgment for Chelsea can still change.

About Milan, the books are balanced for this year, but it would be logical to try to make some profit now, it's the logical next step (firstly, balance the books each year, then, trying to make some profit to cancel our long-term debt which is around 200M I think, so if we receive 120M for example, if they use 60-70M and use the other part for the books and the debt, I would say "ok, they keep their way, so they don't lie too much", but if they then invest 120M, then I will be the one who will bash our management).

About the other clubs, seriously, I don't think Inter is the right example to follow for example, they have spent millions and millions each year, they almost have had a new squad each year, that has lasted for years now, and even if they're strong, they are still a boring team to watch and a team not able to pass the 1/4 finales of CL, it's such a pity !!
Tell me, why Lazio, with Lotito as a President (and he does an excellent work), tries each year to balance their books and have salary caps ?! Except Juventus and Inter (and Roma but Roma don't spend that much during mercatos, their problem comes from another thing), Italian clubs spend only when they can, when their books are about to be balanced or almost (you're going to tell me Genoa spent, I'm going to tell you that Genoa didn't spend that much for years, they were in Serie B, they tried to make money and now they are just using their money to build their team).
