Give Dida a break, ok, he made a clumsy mistake, but did you look at all the other saves he made?? he was amazing except for the two occasions which resulted in goals...he is better than roma.Madrid had more shots on goal, remember that.

I disagree. Had Dida made errors that most goalkeepers on an off-night make, it would be understandable. I agree that people are always ready to pounce on Dida for every error, but against Real he did the simple things wrong...you know, like picking up a ball.

His errors are extremely clumsy and comical. That is what makes this so infuriating. He really needs to be shown the door.

lets face it he is not the keeper he used to be,he doesnt deserve the money he gets,and he doesnt deserve playing at this level..

Given this win, and the win against Roma, how do people feel we build on this? What is it about these games that we need to take and refine to try and make the side competitive?

I do have thoughts of my own, but I'm curious to see the opinions of others before I give my own.

I've just read all posts after mine, and I got a couple of things to comment:

1. I think that Brasiliero made a mistake in a formation we played in the second half.
First half was standard Carlo's midfield three, but with Ambrosini on the right, strange cause Carlo never played him on the right, cause right is "defending side" and that way Ambro's attacking potential would be lost, at least Carlo thought that way. But that's not the point here.
In the second half, Leonardo moved both Ambro and Pirlo to the left, so they formed a duo, with Seedorf in front of them. This way:

------Ambrosini--------Pirlo------------
---------------------------------------
---------------Seedorf-----------------

I think it was like this, Ambro and Pirlo seemed in the line to me, and Seedorf was surely in the middle. This is better, cause Pirlo is first to the defence just like he played before and Seedorf is more upfront in a position which suits him best. This will be even better when Gattuso comes back as he's no use in attack at all, so the deeper he plays the better. Flamini also.

2. I didn't saw anyone mention Borriello's BIG part in the winning goal. When you look closely it was Borriello who stepped in a middle to free Pato on the right. Borriello doesn't seem to does anything individually, but he does a LOT for the team.

Well I think the two wins against Real Madrid and Roma showed a lot of character from the team. When they give everything they have, then they can truely perform magic. But funny as it sounds, I think the real test will be against Chievo. Can the team perform when the whole world aren't watching?

The good thing is that Leonardo has started to experiment with the system, and perhaps has found a winning formula in the 4-3-3 with Pirlo and Seedorf infront of a DM. But again the match against Chievo will truely show if this system is the one to build on, and if it can work against a side that doesn't play as open as Real Madrid or Roma.

I can't stress how important a win against Chievo is, and a comfortable win. If we don't get a result there then the Real win and the Roma win will be forgotten in no time and we'll have to start over.

Lebanese - I do agree with you. I think its time for us as Milan fans to move on coz i believe Kaka has. And he himself had stated that he s a professional footballer and that he would play for Madrid now.

My god, finally a match to make us Milan fans proud. In the end this is what it's about, the team with the right spirit---grit, determination, and sheer will can prevail, even against the odds. I think players like Seedorf and Oddo deserve a lot of credit. These were players that weren't even guaranteed starting places when the season started. More so, Oddo was told to find another club. And for them to play their hearts out like this is amazing. Only in a club like Milan...

As for what Dev brought up, I think they're lots of things to take from the previous 2 games:

1) We finally have a set formation. The 4-3-3 is working wonders and allowing both Pato and Dinho to show their potential. What we need now is a good attacking left or right back to ease the pressue on our strikers and allow Pato/Dinho to drift inwards.

2) I quite like having Pirlo playing left or right of midfield. It does 2 things at once. One, it allows link-up play with our left/right forwards and wingbacks, and two, it makes our central midfield more solid, because a pure DM like Ambro, Rino, or Flamini cover way more ground than Pirlo can ever do.

And about the "Didaster". Fact is he is not worthy of a starting shirt. There's no 2 ways about it. BUT, people keep forgetting that he only started this game because both our starting keepers were injured---Abbiati to a long-term injury, and Storari recently injured. For all those who say start Roma ahead of Dida, you've got to be nuts. Roma has never played a competitive game for us before and has no idea as to how our defenders play. To throw him into such a big game when you have an experienced player (2 CL's) like Dida is crazy. Now that Dida has proven even less reliable, maybe now Leo can think about putting Roma in his place, but his decision before both the Roma and Real games were spot on.

People keeping whining about Dida's salary. But it is not his fault that he's payed so well. If anything we have to blame Galliani for giving him such a great contract when his performance was sliding down. If I were him, I'd sit tight and collect my pay as well..

yes we should move on, but this is no reason to change the facts! fact is that our MGT wanted kaka to be sold for big money, kaka wanted to stay!

And kaka couldnt be forced out if he wanted to stay? he wanted to stay, but why wouldnt he go to madrid as his team wants him out and a big team like real comes up, a team where he IS wanted!

well 9 mil, air tickets, two houses and 3 cars and 1 mil diago contract didnot convience his agent and father to stop bugging for a new contract. let us see how it goes in madrid.

kaka wanted to leave. we needed money for the "books". perez is a friend of ours he proposed and we accepted, player sold.

no1 denying, we lost a bright leader but life goes on. we really need to get over him.
