This might be just me, but did anyone else really thought we were actually going to spend in january? By that, I don't mean wishful hoping that we'd sign this and that but rather really believed that we were going to invest some money for new signings. I for one have always thought that the rumors linking us with this and that were simply BS the management spread out to distract fans from the atrocious records.

It was never likely we'd get anyone really worthwhile this winter, just a few stop gaps to keep us over to the summer. I suspect we may get the odd player besides Beckham, but I don't expect anything that will get us excited.

Your arguments leave me astonished how it doesn't seem obvious to you that Milan transfer strategy has completely failed and that the Brazilian players that Milan are chasing are completely mediocre and having to live with a Portuguese and Brazilian flatmates i have had to put up Brasileiro Série A virtually every couple of days so i have seen these players i know what stage of development they are at that why i have a problem with Milan signing them.

Are we starting to get caught up in a winter mercato for Milan. I was watching the Chievo game on ESPN and they mentioned Luis Suarez many times , I hope these last 3 results don't overshadow the 11 defeats Milan have had since July (including a crap pre season) the team still needs serious reinforcements. If Nest or Silva or Pato miss any long period we will find it so tough.

Pato is such an outlet when the midfield or defence are under pressure if he was gone nobody could do the same as Pato does. I see Beckham coming in Jan alot of rumours but silence from Milan MGT. If they go with this team again in the new year it is not good enough anymore to finish in the top 4 over 38 games.

But I honestly don't think there be any big investment in Jan , Beckham thats it. IF we can get to Christmas still in a good position we will have a chance . I just think over 38 league games the Coppa the CL and the Europa league if we drop into that our team will not be good enough in 2009/2010.

1. Why criticise someone when they are having a go posting in english, its not the easiest of languages and especially when it might be there second language.

2. So milan's transfer strategy in the past has been a complete failure with Brazilian players: HELLO....kaka, Pato, Silva etc

some french poster on XT said it was in a newspaper that Milan might be getting Ederson from Lyon on loan until the summer due to him not having enough playing time because of Pjanic keeping him out, can anybody confirm this?

I didn't find anything about that ... I used Google Actuality and no newspapers seems to speak about that.

Actually, there are some quotes on some websites from the player himself who says he would like to play in Milan after Lyon (not saying when ...). Nothing more and nothing concrete.

Ederson seems in the same case as Jovanovic, it's the player who says that Milan seems interested and that he wants to come in a more or less near future.

First of all, sorry for the delay, RF...

I like Diogo a lot. It was a surprise for me his game, because he never had a chance in São Paulo first team. Like Marcelo, unbelievble skills for a fullback, really impressive. The way he stare his marker and literally challenge him to take the ball off of his feet is amazing, because in 90% of the times he past his man. Don´t know if it´s good or bad, but he´s a little too confident for a defender. Several times in WC (as in the final against Ghana), he´s not afraid to do a impressive play dribbling past the forwards near his own goal. In the final, he was the last man(after a corner) at Brazil midfield, and when the ball arrive at his feets, he chose to dribbled 3 or 4 Ghana players instead of kicking it for far... Impressive play, but that would have killed a coach like Cappelo Imo a player with this level of confidence is only a problem if he isn´t easy to coach. What does not seem to be the case of Diogo. He appears to be a good lad...

So, in the dries that the world lives of LB, Diogo is really a name to keep an eye. I have no idea of what São Paulo would ask for him, but if we had money(and if the price will not be excessive) it would be a great bet. This type of talent in FB position don´t come often. A Thiago Silva path would be great, six months training and learning European nuances of the game.

If you ask me, I would label him as a project, but a amazing project. Could he come a help right now? Impossible to bet since he still don´t play in a regular basis for São Paulo first team. But he was amazing for Brazil under-20 NT where, just to put in perpective, Paulo Henrique feel the pressure and disapointed.

Braida was there in Santos X São Paulo game, and I think he leave a bit(if not much) disapointed with P. Henrique and Miranda performances.

Miranda is in a bad form, but also is showing a temper and some hard fouls that were not of its repertoire. Improved a little in the second-half, but wasn´t a good game for him.

P. Henrique also disapointed, and showed all the cons that I said here. Held the ball to long without the attempt of something positive. To be fair, it wasn´t that hold on the ball trying some useless tricks. It was holding trying to find a open player, but in Europe(with his thin body) would have the ball stolen easily. Also didn´t show any glimpse of the skilled player he is. The only good thing was a through ball at the left of S. Paulo defense... but it´s to little for a #10.

The guy that stole the show was Hernanes. The best game by him that I saw this year. I think the surgery on the knee was good for him. This Amazing free kick goal(first goal of São paulo):

... and a great game overall was what imo, made Braida´s trip worth. Played deep(as Pirlo), more advanced, it seemed to me that Hernanes didn´t miss a pass, and also broke some ankles and vertebrais spines with great dribles.

Great to see he find his old form again, and it´s a shame Dunga didn´t give this guy a chance, like he´s still doing with that Julio Baptista guy. Pato also can say goobye to the WC since Dunga today called Hulk but not him

So, I´m glad that P. Henrique didn´t shone that day, because imo he will not be good in Serie A with the way he plays right now. He has the talent to play in Europe, but need to change a lot of things in his game to be succefull there. Plus, his mental strenght need to be improved if he want to improve as a player...

Glad to see Hernanes getting back to form infront of Braida. Brasiliero, how much do you think Hernanes is worth? and do you think he has what it takes to replace Pirlo at Milan immediately?

Lucas had one fantastic game against United. That guy turned out to be good, even after all that unfair booing and complaining he had to face. I gave him huge credits for never gaving it up in those hard times.

Lucas plays in the best league in the world, and faced the big four in EPL several times, and he never dissappointed.

I have to agree, everyone who calls Lucas a failure is wrong. Very much wrong

Well Hitman, its winter and teams only reinforce for a long injury or summer signing flops. but in our case we need hernanez ASAP, Pirlo and seedorf wont be able to play 45 games a year. they will break off sooner or later, with beckham coming in we need another player like hernanez for our midfield, to have the same quality in midfield when rotating and he is a natural replacement for our # 10 since seedorf is going to be a bench player next year (34 yrs old).

if milan want to maintain a positive results we need 3 players. a full back, two for the midfield. this is a reasonable mercato but its not gonna happen not after the winning run we are having.

about hernanez price it will be around 15 mil euro
