We deserved to lose points since we stopped playing after the 6th minute and not killing the game earlier when we got the chance.

of course, many are to blame, pippo didn't put the game away when he should've; abate should not have made that foul; but it is pirlo who without any pressure gave balls away that led to that counter which was ABSOLUTELY NOT acceptable. you don't do that in an important game; you don't do that when you can't afford doing that; you don't make EASY mistake like that. it was demoralizing. I knew we would get into trouble, as this mistake was bound to be penalized; I just didn't know it was so harsh. Sao Paolo stadium is difficult for a reason. the atmosphere there is hellish. we finally shut them up (almost!), but lost the advantage in such a manner. It was Pirlo, in my book.

I think those two games are different. We had total control over Liverpool, but we didn't today. though we did have a few chances. I couldn't believe my eyes when Pippo missed the goal after he rounded the keeper.

its sad. I will admit Pirlo didnt have a great game. many others didnt either. even with 10 men we should have been able to held off 2 goals in the 6 or so minutes left. We still had Flamini on and he is arguably a better RB than Abate. its just really sad we couldnt finish it out

We stopped taking the game seriously after the second goal. While it is painful to see 2 goals let in at the end of the game, we sort of deserved this scoreline.

he has on the sidline and looked to not be in bad pain. i have a feeling he will be back for Madrid.

and in Pippo's defense it looks possible that De Santis got a finertip on the ball after Pippo rounded him

There are many ways to look at this loss....and so far, no one has pointed the finger at Leo, who must also be held accountable to an extent.

Yes, he was forced into an early sub with Nesta's injury (which I hope isn't serious), but his persistence with Seedodorf / Pirlo is a huge oversight IMO.

These 30+ year olds have no business playing 90+ minutes for so many consecutive games...and to see Pirlo making silliy errors is a sure sign that he is fatigued....

Pippo, another 30+, should have been subbed earlier, his miss of a gaping net another sign of lack of fitness...for me, he has to be an "impact" player, coming off the bench (regardless of his early goal) he shouldn't be starting matches.

Boriello may not be fit, but why waste Huntelaar?....He may be having a major drought at this point, but if its one place he CANNOT score from, its the bench.

I am very disappointed, as we gave away 2 points today, and sacrificed getting closer to 3rd, which I think is our maximum attainable position in the table this term.

We silenced the stadium in the first half, so I don't care at all what impact the fans have...we should have killed off the game, and Leo should have subbed Pirlo or Seedorf, and shouldn't have started Pippo.

Pirlo and Ronaldinho were the two that didn't play well. Pirlo got a 5.5 from me, and Ronaldino maybe a 4. He is simply the worst. Borriello didn't exactly help out, and I was surprised why the need to sub him on today.

Silva and Dida were simply amazing. And I like what I saw from Pato tonight. He was very brave and confident taking on defenders.

It is painful to lose points like this. Now hopefully Nesta is ok, that's what concerns me more. We simply can't live without Nesta.

everybody wants to know why ancelotti lippi doesnt start young players in the back 4?, davide santon,ignazio abate all have cost there club clear points in the final minutes of a game, the game exploded changed after he went out, and cigarini's miracle goal, we should have won this game...well i hope lazio doesnt get inspired

the plan was screwed up when Nesta was hurt. Dinho was playing poorly and had to be taken off. Pippo was also playing poorly as the game progressed and had to be subbed. If Nesta was still healthy, Leo could have added Antonini for Pirlo or Seedorf, and then push Abate up to mid.

Santon is a real defender though. Abate is still very much a midfielder. Vets also make foolish mistakes from time to time.

Pirlo still could have had an assist if Inzaghi managed to finish his pass, and that would have put the game away

Pirlofanusa: Pippo shouldn't have started. That's one of my main points...if he hadn't been started, he wouldn't represent a wasted sub...our style of play differs much when he is on the pitch, as he can't hold up play, nor beat a player...so for me, Hunter/Boriello should have started....doesn't matter though, "if IF were a fifth, we'd all be drunk"!!

I agree that before the game he shouldnt have started, but he did score early, and if he hadnt been on you dont know what could have happened. as a general rule though i prefer Hunter or Borri as the starter
