I hope Dzeko starts to perform in the big games to prove anyone who doubts him, because to be honest - he hasn't been that convincing so far.... and if we are going to spend 30m euro, I think we are much better off spending it on Zarate.
OK, so where would you play Zarate? On Pato's place, with Pato in the middle?! On Ronny's place so that way we're losing our best assistant?! And what in the world Zarate has shown against tough opposition? Bonera ATE him alive last year!

If Dzeko is the same to you as Gila then, excuse me, you are blind or you didn't saw much of him. Let's take a look at some statistics.

So far in CL Dzeko played 4 games and scored twice, one against Manchester Utd on Old Trafford in his first match in CL. Gilardino also scored twice in CL in two seasons, playing 21 games total. I don't have to say what players were behind Gila scoring "magnificent" 2 goals in 21 matches.

Then, let's take a look at the big domestic games. For all that I remember of Gila in big games in Serie A in Milan's shirt, he scored once against Inter in 3:4 loss some year, in three years. Just last season, against sides that made top 5 in Bundesliga, Dzeko scored 9 goals in 8 games.

And let's not forget that Dzeko, beside scoring a whopping 36 goals in 42 games in all competitions, provided 10 assists only in Bundesliga.

Believe me, I saw many of Wolfsburg's games last season, I saw all NT games and my opinion is that Dzeko is already one of the best no.9's in Europe.

he has far more pace, he can shoot, he can pass, and he can run back to help defend. he can take on players dribbling, which Dinho cant really anymore

Revolver, you can't just pick out what statistics you want to show, if you want to be accurate pull out the entire statistics of both Gila (at Parma, NOT at Milan) had and Dzeko had. I said Dzeko was similar to Gilardino before we got him. Actually in fact, arguably Gilardino at Parma was the best striker in the world! But look how he performed in Milan, 2 goals in 21 CL matches as you say.

What makes you think Dzeko can do better, at Milan?

Listen man, I really want Dzeko and I am a big fan, but we got to evaulate all risks. We are talking about AC Milan not a playstation game. I don't think Milan's ever shelved 30m euro for a player other than Rui Costa. Buying Dzeko for that price would make him the second most expensive player Milan has bought, can he live up to that tag, is he really worth it? 30m euros should be for guarantees such as Messi, Ibra, CR, Drogba and Zarate. I don't know why you hate the guy so much, but he has been phenomenal in the last two years in Serie A and I have been following the guy with great interest. His shooting, creativity, vision, dribbling is truly remarkable for a 21 year old. Zarate can play in any of the forward 3 positions.

They are very different players. For one, Gilla can't shoot from outside the box but Dzeko can and not just that, I've not seen many forwards who can strike the ball with such elegance, the combination of power, accuracy and curve in his shots are quite titillating. His efforts seem more natural than Gillas, he also looks more comfortable on the ball than gilla. He is also doing well for his country.

So Wolfsburg will sell Dzeko for Ł30 million about 33 million euro even if we get 12 - 15 for Hunter where will the other 21 or so come from. Is Dzeko worth that much more than Huntelaar well definately atm. But we don't have money to spend on one player even though Dzeko wants to play for Milan I cannot see it happening, nothing has changed we are playing well but lets say Dzeko comes we still need major player changes. I don't fancy relying on Seedorf , Kala , Oddo , Zambro , Janku , Favalli , Rino , Ambro , Pippo. All can be great on a given day but to rely on these guys after this season is not the best thing.

You can put Dzeko in there and not much will be change we will still be lacking , that is if he costs 33 million euro but I can't imagine Wolfsburg taking less if they can get that . If Milan can't pay someone will alot of teams will pay that for him. I just cannot see us signing him for 20 million or Huner + 6 or 7.

When talking about Džeko you people need to know that Im somewhere in between Hitmann and Revolver. Im objective on him, at least trying to be, as he is not a player that plays for my NT and not a player I followed more then 5-7 times in 90min.

I've seen the game ( BiH-Portugal ) with my friend, also a milanista, and he follows Dzeko much more then me. He is claiming that Milan simply cannot find better young CF then Dzeko and that Dzeko is a future of European CF's etc.

My wiew:

I see you are comraping Gilardino and Dzeko. Well, its understandable. When gila played for Parma we all saw a brilliant finisher who looked like a mix of Pippo and Vieri. We were all thriller Milan bought him etc. ( I still remember how Moggi said Juve will not sign him becouse their forwards are better and Gila will never be as good as Trezeguet...)

Gila turned out to be soft in duels, his passing in the beggining was so horrible that it was comical. But also it all went wrong from the start. He played 30-35m from the goal in his first games, he lacked confidence etc. Still, time showed Milan wasted money on a player that simply wasnt a big player, class player. Aldough he was a good CF, and still is, Milan needed something more.

That is why I still have doubts about Dzeko. BUT, in Dzeko I see much more then in Gila! He is a fast man actually, uses both feet, shoots well, can pass and create etc. He lacks: security and consistenly in concentration while shooting, a bit of kilos for serie a, some power in his feet in ground duels sometimes ( its hard when you are 192cm tall!). But those things can be solved quickly. Just remember how Kaka' fixed his shooting and how much progress he made in Milan is a year and a half since he joined. Dzeko has potential, even that right now he is not Torres or Drogba.

But to be fair, you could play Trez, Amauri, Eto'o tec., in that game vs Portugal and they would also do nothing as Dzeko was simply lost there, he couldnt do much more.

Brasiliero warned once that Fabiano has more power then Dzeko and is better then Dzeko for serie a. The question is - can Dzeko he even firmer player on his feet?

And then - will Milan pay 25mln for one player when we need more then one investment? Or Milan will invest in a player like Nistelrooy, Amauri etc., and also invest in fulbacks etc.

I went to read forzainter forums on Balotelli issue... my god! There is absoikutely no such pathetic crowd and club like Inter! They claim its a joke, a lie by goal.com etc. Hahahaha...but Mario is a Milanista and they can now go to hell ( where the Diavolo rules! )

Also, Mourinho: "...then Pato is an interista.." hahahaha, what the hell is that? A joke or something? Not funny, not lucid, means nothing... pathetic!

Inter stays Inter, no matter how scudetti you give them.

P.S.

Where is our "why do I support Inter?" thread?

Hahaha inter is always inter,Mourinho is always Mourinho LOL.They call him as The Special one?if Balotelli is milanista, then Pato is interista is very special:P.

Regarding Dzeko,Parma is small team,Gila is big player of Parma,Gila can do his thing in the likes of Fiorentina and Parma, wheras,Wolsburg is a big team,at least they play like big team, putting pressure on first line, keeping the possesion, pressing in first line is awesome.Their style of game is awesome for me.

Off course he is not Torres or Drogba yet not Gilardino as well.

Schafer is nice talent too.pushing some much from left and dynamic left wing back though he doesnt know how to defend :P

i'd rather to stick with Zambrotta and Antonini instead of Dossena,or signing Criscito, dynamic and very insteresting wing back or Diogo would be better choices.

What do you think about Dominguez of Rubin?if its true,he is bosman in january and juve and Milan after his services, looked interesting players to me,has flair, skilled, strong, good finisher, awesome dribbler,he has everything to not to stay in Rubin.

i'd like to have Krasic at Milan,strong player,a fighter,he defends,he is quick,reads the game well,good dribbler.

What do you think about Chamakh of Bordeaux?

Bosnia is an interesting team,i didnt expect them to eliminate Portugal, like Wolsburg they know to how to play againist small teams and win these kind of games,Their team defence and defensive line is horrible. They didnt win any game vs Turkey,Portugal and Spain, they made top 2,cuz Turkey doesnt know how to play againist small teams and lost many points there.

Wolsburg reminds me of them as well,i liked both Fabiano and Dzeko and didnt want Milan to sign Huntelaar at all.if Milan signs Dzeko,i'd be happy,if Milan sign Chamakh or
Fabiano will be happy too.if Milan signs Toni,i'll be sad.

Above all,Milan needs to sign some midfielders who can play 90 mins, who can play 2 part of the game.Pirlo doesnt even have a sub,or we have to play Seedorf every game in midfield for 4-3-3.The time came to sign 1-2 starters in midfield park,Sissoko,Asamoah
one of them would be awesome for our midfield, maybe Candreva,or even Mariga or Galloppa.

if we fully give up on 4-3-1-2 and will play with 4-3-3 since then, for attacking trio,we need depth for Pato and Ronaldinho.i hope Adiyiah will be revolution of the year. What makes me think about him,he costs around 1.5 m euros, its very cheap for a milan who was MVP and top goal scorer of Under 20 Championship where the likes of Saviola,Messi,Aguero shined, and he doesnt play in his club.thats makes think much about him.

im not much pessimistic about Ronaldinho,he is really quick now,he even can make dribbling that provided so much very quick legs,if he can regain some more strenth,he will do well,i believe.but first he has to give up on midnight parties.

Wolfsburg isn't a better side than Fiorentina. They play totally different kinds of football I presume but Fiorentina is a bigger club than Wolfsburg.

About Chamakh, my older brother told me once he liked the rumours about this player in Juventus (my brother is a fan of Juventus), but personnally, I don't rate Chamakh as a potential player for us.
If we want another striker who doesn't score goals (anyway he makes good assists), let's buy him, but if we want a real goalscorer, just forget this player.

Yes I agree, along with Sheva, Gilardino looked like the best striker in the world when he was in Parma.

For the bolded part:

1. Dzeko scored in his first CL match, against Man Utd;
2. Dzeko was second best goalscorer in WC qual. Europe zone (tell me Gila's goalscoring record for NT?);
3. (and most important) Dzeko has BALLS to fight with tough defenders which Gila never had! He also has the right mentality, he fights to the end, so just when you think he has a bad day, he scores in the end, against Werder last season's last game for example, or against Spain in Zenica. For some, he had bad day against Portugal in Lisabon, he was nowhere to be seen, and he almost scored in the end. Gila was never like that. If he's bad in the first half, you can bet he won't score in the second. You can see that even with Fiorentina nowdays: When he scores in first 20 minutes, you can bet he'll go for hat-trick, but when he sees it's not going as he expected he just surrenders and does not have will to try.
