Being loyal is one of the reasons players love playing for Milan but to give a guy who will be 33 by then an extension 1.5 years before its expiry may be pushing it a bit. I know similar extensions have been done before but...

gattuso is requesting a starting spot, not a contract renewal. he is requesting formation change. that means seedorf or dinho out of the formation .

You know what, I love Rino, he is one of my idols, I have three jerseys of his, but noone should be able to req. a starting spot.

exactly. leonardo gave everybody a fair chance, the team is now stable, Result wise i mean with two dms and pirlo we are going to suck big time. with two dms and seedorf we were lost (catania game). gattuso is a fighter he should have no problem muscling ambro and flamini out but he is being a P***y. just like what kaka did to bench ronaldinho if you remember last year.

Its a bit prickish of Rino to say I want to start or im leaving. He has done alot foMilan but sh1t man try harder in training earn your spot . If he was in phenominal form Im sure he would be playing , atm the team is doing well we are winning even winning ugly games which is what good teams do. Regarding Rino's demand, i really like Leonardo's comment, that if Rino insists on leaving, Leo would try to convince him to stay. He's such a likeable person who is exactly the opposite of Mourinho when making statements. He never wants to stir up some controversy.

We dont know if it is the media who are exaggerating things but yes,i think it is Rino who is demanding a spot.And i think this is ****.No player can demand that in a team,no player!It would break my heart to see Rino leave Milan for a other club,its just to painful to watch.Rino is the soul of Milan,his working grit is amazing,he always was available for the team.But still it suprises me that someone like him demands a starting spot.....Ambro never said something when he was benched.

I've been reading some other forums about Gattuso issue, and I can say officially: people have gone mad... I cant believe how much people are actually saying yes to Gattuso departure. Like we are gonna sign Essien! We are gonna get Gago or Ledesma or some player that cant clean Rino's boots. We will loose another player that created the soul of AC Milan, and a player that is feared and respected on the field. It will be a sad day if Rino leaves. When he is fit, name me one player that can man mark better then him? No one in this world. Forza Rinho 4 ever!

Also, news say that Chelsea may sell/loan Zhirkov... as far as Im concerned he would fit it great on the left fullback as he played for Russia in the last EURO.

I think you're the one that's mad. Gattuso is getting old. He gets injured the more he tries to force his body to move the way it did. Let's cash in on him now while there are still buyers. We can use Beckham to fill the gap until summer, then get Hernanes.

I think most people are right on point in regard to Gattuso's drama. I am with the opinion that Gattuso has no right to demand more playing time merely based his past contribution to and his association with the team. It would be unfair to other players, who are sitting in the stand or on the bench to wait for their chances. If he is acting like a primadonna, which, in turns, causes disharmony within the squad, I think he has to leave. It will be better for the team and for him. Why hold someone against his/her will? If he is a true milanista, he will zip it and work hard to get his spot back.

With this whole Rino situation I think we musn't jump to conclusions. No one knows exactly what is problem is other than he's frustrated about not playing ahead of a world cup.

He's injured so he can't play which makes little sense in him demanding a starting position. I say we make him stay to the end of the season as he's a viable alternative (and potential starter) and the reevaluate his situation next summer. If he wants to leave then, I have no issues and we will move on (though we must be careful to replace him well, and the names mentioned so far aren't convincing me other than maybe Mariga), but if he wants to stay, we will keep a player who over the past 10 years has added motivation and fire to the squad.

Why are you all worried about a name to replace Gattuso? Milan's problem was that they had too many DMs. Our replacement is already here, and there aren't much better options out there that are better than Mathieu Flamini.

About the Gattuso issue, taking everything that has happened into account, I can only say don't let the door hit you on your way out Rino. Thanks for the past, good luck to the future. If we can get something around 8m for him I'd sell him without blinking.
