I like Inler but there are 2 players that I would prefer over him: Hernanes and Fernando (Porto). Seems like we lost Pandev *phew*. I just hope we get someone else of decent quality this January. Belgian friends say that Jovanovic is ours next summer (I believe this rules out Krasic), what a shame... Milan is really in an embarassing financial situation and our management has been nothing short of shameful. If they make minor investments this January, they can earn Milan alot of money 'cause that'll help Milan reach further objectives for the season. I really don't get our management.

I think this is an understatement

I don't know exactly how Inler will be useful for us, because he's good midfielder with potential but he's not a playmaker and certainly not a DM.

I knew someone will steal Pandev from us, of course, we cannot offer him a contract he deserves because we spend too much on bench players like Dida and Kaladze

Last night I watched our both finals against Liverpool on Eurosport, damn we were tight team in 2007, that "Christmas tree" was water-tight. If we just begun reconstruction after that.

It says Pandev will earn £3m a year, too much in my opinion. I think that's why Galliani didn't went for him. Pandev is good because he's free, but he doesn't exactly fit in our system to pay him such money.

but someone also asked if whether having Pandev's contract rescinded means that he is still considered as transferring from an Italian side...

anyway, i am reading around and i haven't read anywhere that Pandev at Inter is a done deal...so let's keep hoping...

and i totally agree with Saliwonczyk: if Pato or Dinho are out i am sure we can try Abate on the right, or play Borriello on the left or maybe change the formation with Beckham available ....but if we lost one of Nesta or Silva, we all know we end up praying that whoever replaces them (Kaladze or Favalli) won't cost us the match

Regarding players' prices & salaries:
Leo is obviously not the biggest fan of rotation, sometimes because he probably doesn't trust the players he has on the bench, others for some reason we cannot understand...
so this is a list of players that have been useless for us so far and we can certainly do without...i don't know how much money we can get for them or what their salaries are but i am sure if we get rid of them we can get at least a couple of Milan-level players:
Abbiati, Roma, Bonera, Kaladze, Favalli, Onyewu, Jankulovski
Personally i would throw in Oddo & Inzaghi as well
and for whatever we can get / save from all of those, we could replace them all with:
- one of Ranocchia / Kjaer + Zhirkov on loan
- Pandev
and use our youth as the ultimate back-up (3rd choice GK, Albertazzi, Verdi, Zigoni...)

Zhirkov & Pandev will cost us nothing and only the CB will cost us probably around 12Mio whiich i think we can make out of the sales of the guys listed above, as for the salaries, i think we will be actually saving money...
i know most people will call this fantasy football but seriously, how tough is it to do and how much better will we be???

Actually, the only fantasy in your post is about the sales ... nobody will buy Roma, Favalli and probably the other injury-prone players (how does Bonera look like ? I don't remember ).
Anyway, for Zirkhov, I think we could make advantage of the fact that the coach of Chelsea is Ancelotti as, I'm maybe wrong, I think he still loves Milan and so, if he can help us with one player who is useless for him, he would do it ...

yeah i know no one will actually pay money to have Favalli, that's why i was suggesting to sell whomever we could sell and the rest just release them...get them off that payroll!!!
that way we will have the money to compete with Inter in offering a decent salary for players like Pandev for example

as for Zhirkov, i don't know if i can get any more p***** at our MGT but if Roma managed to get him on loan...i'm sure i will reach new heights :s

I think it isn't fair to list Abbiati, Bonera and Jankulovski among those because they were injured. Abbiati and Jankulovski are not 100% still.

But, that doesn't mean we shouldn't sold some of them.

Bonera was injured for the better part of last season, he missed half of this season too. The only season when he made impact here is 2006/07 when he actually was our best and most consistent defender. I still think that he's a great talent, and when fit, he's a perfect backup. If he had any luck with injuries so far he would be first team material until now, I'm sure. So, he should get his chance to see if he's past his injury.

Abbiati is a big NO, he's a very good keeper, good enough for us. We do NOT have the money to replace the players who are actually "good". I even doubt we will have money for CF and LB in the summer and let alone backups.

Roma and Kaladze should go. I would keep Kaladze with lower salary because we owe him, but there's no way he can play first team football and that's what he wants.


For the "possible" transfers, we need a CB backup, but I'm sure Zhirkov will be no good for us. He's not much better in defense than Jankulovski. Ancelotti doesn't even use him as a SB. Great player, but we need some with better defensive qualities, especially on the left side.

I think we wont getting anyone this mercato,in the summer we were linked with very realistic targets.Now we arent linked with anyone,there are only few talks about us wanting some players in summer mercato....

I believe Beckham will be the only real addition to the squad,Adiyiah wont be loaned because we need a backup,Galliani knows this.

I think we are making a pathetic impression on the market.I really am angry that we didnt snapped Pandev,he makes 3 million a year at Inter,i think we should have offered the same,he is worth it.Now Merda gets him....this was our chance to add a very good player on the cheap to our team,but even that our MGT couldnt do...

Also on the Jovanovic case,it is OFFICIAL for the ones who dont know,the president of Standard has said in a magazine in Belgium that he is leaving Standard for free in the summer and that he has a agreement with Milan.Do i support this move?NO.Jovanovic isnt the same as Gooch,he is a better player.Jovanovic can play on LW but also CF.And he has performed on consistent level in Belgium but also at Serbia.He isnt good enough for Milan,and what bothers is me is that this guy has a attitude problem,he has a very big ego,always wanting to take the penalties etc...

For the contracts,yes we overpay people,but atleast the team will change a bit in the summer,Favalli out for Astori,maybe Kaladze will leave because the clown thinks he deserves a first team spot with his horrorshows.Inzaghi will stay but with lower salary like Rino.So in the summer there will be changes,but we should have done this ages ago...

So i do not think we will get anybody this mercato,there are ZERO signs we will sign someone,the MGT says as usual that we will get nobody and there arent any rumours pointing out that we will get a player,and i dont take those Dembele rumours seriously,they are dead already....

well if we have signed Jovanovic for free and he will arrive in the summer is this the striker that Galliani is talking about . I don't see how we will sign Dzeko sure he wants to come to Milan but there is no way no way our MGT will pay 20 - 30 million for any player no matter how old good and much money he will generate in merchandise etc...

Boldy will bring it to us just like that,with Jovanovic coming in,and Huntelaar staying,and you can bet Pippo will stay,i dont see us getting Dzeko....

I.M.O, I do not give a rat's ar#e if a new striker comes in (bcs I am focused on other things). Remember, this is January we should be talking about (primarily a market to top up the squad for the remainder of the season; think about NOW, not Summer transfer market). I know if a good oppurtunity like a free agent pops up, we should take it, but if we are looking primarily in continuing this season the way we have, the offense is the last place we would want to top up in. So I don't know why people are talking up Dzeko. His deal will depend on whether we do well this season.....

If we are looking to finish this season positively, and also do well in the CL (which will help draw in further players for Summer), then get a decent CB for God's sake! Although it may not sound as exciting or glamourous to some fans to get a plain defender, we need it. How does another year in the Europa league sound then????? It will happen if we are forced to play Kala and Favalli in the likely event that one or both of Nesta and Silva get iunjured.....


Please, think about it

No one is talking about Dzeko for January. No one is ignoring the CB problem because it isn't 'glamorous'. Stop making up straw men and talk about real stuff.

Kaladze is as good as gone, and it's up to him if he wants to rot on the bench while collecting millions, or leave to play and collect less. He won't be playing with us anymore.

Bonera will be back, and so will Thiago Silva. We may need a another backup if Kaladze leaves, but othewise it's not a priority.

Our most important missing piece is the full back. We can't keep plugging the holes with the likes of Antonini and Abate. We need a real FB, left or right.

The major changes can wait until the summer. Dzeko or whoever.

In the "likely event" that both TS and Nesta get injured, then we suffer, as we should. It's a rare occurrence that you can't really plan for. We play Bonera and Albertazzi/Favalli. No need to buy another great defender just in case BOTH our starters fail. Look at what happened at Man Utd. It's a freak occurrence, and you just live with it.
