Wow,the crap rumours are starting already.Corriere is one of the most bull**** newspapers around, everything they say never happens, they just make things up...

I dont believe the rumours, come on.Our MGT hssent spend nothing and all of the sudden Torres is coming, hahahaah maybe in Football Manager, but not in real live.

Also,i agree TOTALLY with Geotav, the prices are inflated.People on this forum are so eager to get a big player at Milan that they do not care how much he costs....

If Wolfsburg are asking more then 30 million then they can **** off,but still i am sure people will bash MGT saying they dont sign **** and they want to do it cheap.

I am glad we have such a cheap ass MGT,that way we will never OVERPAY for a player. So this time around if you have to get a big player you have to pay big?**** THAT,i rather have us play with Inzaghi for another 4 years then pay more then 30 million for Dzeko.**** that ****,MGT has right.

T.Silva cost us round 5-8 mil. and only because we wanted to secure him before he became free, which was June. So we used our good relationship with the club and secured him before he was Free.

TO be real, its not only us that have good scouts, I`m sure the other teams were waiting fro him to go free.

To me thats no such thing as good and cheap purchase anymore, there is only good and expensive purchase or over-rated and expensive purchase. T. Silva costed Milan about 15-20mil. Thats not a cheap purchase, esp for a defender who once failed in Europe.
8 mil euro and its indeed cheap. we had the option to buy agger for 10 last winter mercato but we went for thiago. check your info gabriel.

and again someone said that we bought pato for 22 mil euro.
we bought him for 22 mil usd and his contract for 5 years was included 5 mil.

They never overpay???? Of course they do not because the money is already spent on enormous salaries within the club for over aged players

Dude, be real! We wont ever win things again if the management stops doing the really needed transfers!! what kind of fan are you? You want Milan to become even more a second rated team? I thought every milan fan wanted the best for this team, and want to be really BIG again! and yes, being big means spending money. money must be spend wisely ofcourse, and theres no need to splash 100m every summer, but some most needed transfers must be done. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN SPENDING LIKE CRAZY AND SPEND THE WAY OUR MGT IS DOING NOW!!! they spend 0!! or even worse, they sell sell sell, for BIG money! remember sheva, kaka? what did we get in return?

true! I think that guy lives in a fantasy world, a simple magic world where we will become the best team again out of nothing... ITS NOT!! teams like barca are also created by making investments and taking risks!

Are you guys very sure that Dutchie isn't being sarcastic? That last paragraph doesn't sound like what a sane person would say.

No, he's being serious. Inzaghi+30million is so much better than Dzeko. Yeah.

You can become big again without spending big money ...
I mean, you need to invest, for sure, but our team, now, has a basis, we invest in the youth teams (which is very important), so the plan of our management is maybe to spend less NOW, developping the youth system, and being able to use these young players in some years. Then, each year, you just have to spend money for one established player for example.

i don't think Dutchie was being sarcastic...however, you definitely sound like it
i think that the point that Dutchie wanted to make is not to "OVERPAY" ...and in that he is right

Obviously he is not asking for our management "not to spend big" but rather "not to spend Real Madrid-big" which in other terms means "stupidly big"!!!
They paid 97Mio for CR9???

If a club is rich enough then i think that might makes sense, but i read somewhere that most of their summer purchases were financed by bank loans and what they are doing is pretty much a form of gambling: they are taking huge risks and expecting huge returns (mostly from marketing more than anything else because winning all the titles in the world (a Barca-like season) would not, alone, allow you to make up for those 250-300Mio in loans that they took, unless they probably do that for like 3-4 seasons in a row)

I really am not sure what the return from winning titles is and would be grateful if somebody can supply us with the figures, but to get back to Dutchie's point: when a team can buy Kjaer(12), Lahm(20), Fabregas (45), & Cassano (20-25) for the price of 1 player (CR9) and decides to invest all that money in one player who may well get injured and miss a few months doesn't really make a lot of sense.

But as Filipez said, there is somewhere in between what RM are spending and what Milan is spending

If Milan was investing every year in 1-2 really good players, then we wouldn't have found ourselves asking for so many reinforcements now.
You could argue that THIS year we got Thiago (but we lost Maldini)
last year we got Dinho (but we now lost Kaka)
the year before that we got Pato (but we had lost Sheva)
it's good to replace the quality players that leave with other quality players, but at the meantime, the rest of the squad is aging and nothing is being done to replace those

I think the real issue here is, how do you determine what is overpaying or underpaying a player? Good players costs money. Depending on their respective situations, the specific figure of that money can vary greatly. So, there is really no way for us to judge precisely how much a player is supposed to cost. IF you add in the fact that a player's performance in a different team also cannot be predicted, this whole evaluation process becomes even more difficult. A lot of you guys say that 30 million euros for Dzeko is insane, but what if he turns out to be the new Fernando Torres in our uniform? If a player can transform a team completely, then he is worth the seemingly ridiculous price tag. We as a team should not only focus on the specific dollar figures of the players when we try to sign someone. We need to focus on getting the right players, even if we have to "overpay" to get them. Afterall, we didn't exactly save ourselves any money by replacing Shevchenko with Oliveira and Pato instead of Torres.

First, Cassano is not coming because we have Dinho. Nobody is so stupid to pay 25 mil. for a player and then hold him on the bench.

Torres is not coming too, because we don't have the money to buy him. Liverpool will not give Torres for less than 50 million. Torres in a fantastic striker, for me only Drogba is better than him, and though his goalscoring record is not impressive till now, I'm sure that with the supply we have he would score goals for fun. But, that will not happen because we will not buy him.

Our main target remains Dzeko. Wolfsburg is asking 40 mil., but I'm sure we will get him for 30-35 and to me that's fair price. Again, he's a perfect striker for us. I don't want to write superlatives again, but it's not right that Dzeko is only good with the ball at his feet. His main strengths are positioning on crosses (simply amazing for his age), aerial play and clinical finishing. Beside these, his first touch is great, he can pass his marker with the ball, he's two-footed, have a beautiful vision for a striker and can hold the ball well. He's not a striker who can score a beautiful technical goal like Huntelaar (and let's be real, Torres can't either) but he's a striker who's doing his job, and that's scoring a lot and assisting sometimes. Something like Drogba. The only thing that Dzeko "lacks" is amazing burst of speed that Torres have, but he's not slow by any account, he's faster than Borriello anyway.

So, anyone who says Dzeko is too expensive at 30 mil., it bull****, because we will not get better not-too-old striker for less.

30 mil. euro IS overspending for Dzeko. What has he EVER shown to be worth that kind of money? Yes he had a great season last year, Grafite was even more impressive in Wolfsburg, but I don't see anyone considering him one of Europe's top strikers. Dzeko has been pretty good this season aswell, but 30 M good? Not even close... As a matter of fact, he's actually still 'just' a one season wonder.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Dzeko to come to Milan, but come on, he's being WAY overhyped at the moment, and there's no way that we should spent 30M euro's on him. If we had that kind of money I think we should buy players we actually need, such as a full back.

i still remember how dissapointed i was when torres went to pool..when sheva left i was pretty sure that torres would be the one,i remember cesare maldini saying that we wanted him since he was 12,and that we had "close scouting"(that means somebody on the stands) on him for 3 years..and that him personally scouted him the last 4-5 months before leaving atletico..

i used to watch atletico playing just to see him, hoping that one day he would wear our shirt..

honestly, not getting him should be considered as one of our biggest mistakes this decade, not just because of his quality, but because of the gr8 circumstances that season..it was a clear opportunity!

now there is no chance.
