I thought Nesta did get booked.
Will Ambro play against Juve? Or is he suspended? I was actually worried that he might get a red today, but the fact that Leo didn't sub him may mean he's suspended anyway. Clarification?

Great game in the end! Excellent result, wonderful play by a Milan side missing Pato, and Zambrotta.
Tireless working from Abate (even if he was partially to blame for the first goal) and Antonnini, and a MOM performance by Ambrosini...not to mention the wonder-strike by Boriello....who with his marvelous scissor kick, (the 2nd for the season, so the 1st was no fluke), rounded off a good display by Milan. I confess to be very relieved, and impressed by the win, and the incisiveness of our play @ times. Pirlo was below his best, but he usually needs to play on a pool-table type surface to really shine. I was particularly impressed that Hunter was given the PK...we are indeed a team of gentlemen! Glad for the win, and the 3 points!! FORZA MIILAN!!

I'm still not sure where Beckham fits exactly. Gattuso has no place in the first 11 anymore, and Ambro/Pirlo is untouchable. I guess Beckham will just have to be plugged in whenever anyone isn't playing. Too bad for Flamini...

"On penalty of 5 to 1, Ronaldinho and Beckham were deciding who would get him, but Ambrosini took the ball and delivered to Huntelaar, "It was right that he pulled him. He had a difficult time, so this penalty was also important for his morale. " National Chapter, after yet another great game of captain: "In occasions there were even earlier. It is I who decide, I just keep playing like this and find me ready.""
Capitano! Ambro to South Africa!

Man of the Match: Ambrosini without any other possible choice ... our captain showed moments of greatness, I think it was his best performance ever. He stopped the opponents, he was everywhere, he dribbled like if he was Zidane, he offered solutions to our attack by going forward constantly, he allowed us to have 2 penalty kicks, and, it's there that I'm impressed, he said to Ronaldinho to give the ball to Huntelaar (because Ronaldinho wanted to give it to Beckham who refused and so he was going to kick the third one too) ... If he didn't receive the yellow card, it would be a 10 for me (and I'm not the biggest fan of Ambrosini, far from that).
It was also the Borriello show !! What a second goal, even more beautiful than the one against Parma ... Great game too by Abate (again, I'm not the biggest fan of Abate playing like a RB, but on this game ...) and Antonini ... solid behind, and giving a lot of solutions forward, I think they understood what Leonardo meant at the start of the season when he said he wanted his fullbacks to be very attacking !! And I enjoyed the fact that when Abate went forward, Beckham placed himself in the RB position to secure ... And it could have easily been a 7 or 8-2 because we had so many occasions !! To finish about the positive points, this game should be an indication to Leo that he can rotate !! Only 2 things that I disliked in this game: - Gattuso being useless in midfield (in the defensive tasks because he tried to help by going forward sometimes, which isn't natural for him, so a good point there), he ran a lot, but I feel he ran a lot for nothing. - Nesta still putting his hands on his knees after 15 minutes ... is it his new attitude or is he actually suffering on the pitch ?! If we can do the same performance against Juventus, we'll kill them !! (-8 from Inter, but let's not forget we played one less game, the one against Fiorentina) Last edited by GeoTav; 07-01-2010 at 02:05. |

On the right side, you are totally right, Beckham is an excellent player tactically and i am happy we have him for the rest of the season although i would definitely prefer to see Gattuso covering for Abate and not Beckham and have Abate being supported by Beckham on the attack and not Gattuso. If Gattuso is not going to get it through his thick head that he should stick to defence and let the other midfielders support the attack (and all others are way better than him in that) then he should not even make the bench. Leo has to make him understand that the best way he can help the team is to stick to his defensive duties and not participate and eventually mess up our attacks. Other than that, all was brilliant yesterday and aside from the 3 points, the performance at the begining of this long month is vital to have a really successful run... Let's beat the crap out of Juve and make this a 2 horse title race FORZA MILAN |
