From Calciomercato: Nesta won't play ...
Anyway, I will hope until the moment when the players will be ready to start the game on the pitch (to see if it's real or not) ...

Yeah, Sky is also reporting it. The club doctors have said he's not fit to play.

GOD D*MN IT! Just when we were starting to have serious reason to hope for a win and a scudetto challenge, we lose our most important player for our biggest and most decisive match of the season. ARGH!

How on earth is Favalli supposed to deal with Milito?

From acmilan.com yesterday:

INTER-MILAN: THE CALLED UP ROSSONERI
1/23/2010
MILANELLO - Here are the 21 players called up by Leonardo for tomorrow:
Abbiati, Dida, Abate, Antonini, Bonera, Favalli, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Ambrosini, Beckham, Flamini, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Borriello, Di Gennaro, Huntelaar, Inzaghi, Ronaldinho.
Unavailable players: Oddo, Onyewu, Zambrotta, Pato.

Anyway, it's yesterdays news. Too bad if Nesta isn't playing, suddenly not as optimistic as I have been the lately.

second place is also nice much better than we expected in the beginning of the season. I just hope we wont get trashed tonight.

Gutted that Nest won't play. With him I was certain that we were big favorites, without him it's a whole different story. At least looking at Inters defense these days, and our defense without Nesta, then it'll probably be a high scoring game.

We can't forget that Inter are sufferering from injuries as well, still though noone as important as Sandro. Anyways, I hope we can win this, and that Favalli can put in the game of his long life.

FORZA MILAN

Well the injury situation at the back is really bad right now. If Bonera hadn't been out injured for so long, I suppose he would have played tonight, and he could have been a decent replacement for Nesta (although nowhere near his quality) if he was match fit. Onyewu is out injured (though he would not have played anyway), and Kaladze has been -awful- this season, so that leaves us with old man Favalli, who simply isn't good enough, and hasn't been for a very long time.

Who knows though? The defense is not the most important part of Leo's Milan anyway, and lately Inter have had serious problems against teams with much weaker back fours than the one we'll be fielding tonight. We haven't lost yet.

In all honesty, it's better to have Nesta out than for example Dinho, Pirlo or Borriello, because with those three on the pitch we at least know we're capable of scoring goals. And it's not like Inter aren't having injury problems of their own.

Strongly disagree !!
Of course, it's a derby, so it's one of the most important games of the season, but there are still many games !!

We can lose this game and win all the others, we would be the winners of this Serie A ... we really want a win tonight because:
- it's Inter
- we can be back at 3 points + one game to play (so potentially we would have the same amount of points)
- winning against Inter now could lead them to a situation of trouble

But even if we were to lose (which I can't imagine), winning against Fiorentina would allow us to cancel this game and actually, the 6 points between them and us would only be the two derbys. That means that we would be as strong as them actually, despite an horrible start of season: we are on an increasing form, whereas they are unconsistant.

Forza Milan !!

The news have spread to the Inter forum. I quote:

"With Nesta they had some slight chance for a draw. Without Nesta they are doomed. He is the only reason they are so good at the moment. He was the best deffender in Italy by far until this moment."

"If we still don't perform even with the likes of Pato and Nesta unavailable, then we do have a serious problem. I hope Deki can make a last minute surprise appearance in the derby, then the fans will chant his name and we will be relieved."

God, they are so f-ing arrogant! COME ON MILAN!

Yup, it's like giving a break to a geeky kid, to much and he'll think he's king of the world

Anyway, only go on the Inter forum when bad things happen to them, lol. (Yes it's a terrible thing to do)

Keep the hope up guys,i also was confident that Nesta would play, and Favalli replacing him is a big blow to all of us,but it isnt the end of the world. At least we are sure Favalli wont give a freakshow tonight, and dont underestimate him,he isnt great but if are midfield do their job then i dont see why we can win this.

Favalli is a leftfooter, the defense will look like this:Abate-Silva-Favalli-Antonini

This means Silva VS Milito and Favagol VS Pandev.Milito likes to dribble from the right side and do some snookershots.Favalli will have to deal with Pandev, and i dont see any reason why he cant handle Pandev....

Defense isnt the most important area if you look at our style of play.If we have a good game tonight,Favalli shouldnt get many chances to **** it up.Ambro+Rino have to play like lions.

I BELIEVE,FORZA MILAN PER SEMPRE!

Its almost official that Leo hasn't got anything in is thick skull by not giving Huntelaar decent opportunities, but still if there is any thing left in it, he would certainly play Bonera or Onyewu ahead of the washed up Favalli and the ever useless Kaladze.

But I guess he belongs to the d!da category, doesn't figure out the straight forward things
