You can hate Mourinho as a person all you want, but as a tactitian he was brilliant. That Cissokho move keeps biting us in the ass, game after game after game. Call them goons, call them what u want, but they played with passion and they killed us. Zanetti was pure class, not to mention Cesar.

It was very unfortunate. I really thought we could win, and we probably should. I agree that our players tried their best. it shows our lack of depth. Without a few key players, we weren't the same.
Dida was somehow responsible for the second goal. He should've made a save. It was a good shot, but definitely savable. But I doubt that Abbiati or Storari could do better. Antonini has grown. We could count on him. Was I biased that Maicon dived again to get that free kick? Silva-Nesta duo is our hope. I don't regret though that Leo didn't risk Nesta. It wasn't worth it. Jankulovski is useless on offense or defense. It is time for him to go. It was a good lesson for Abate to learn by mistake, which is good. I hope that it will be upward turning for him from now on. Favalli is too old. I wouldn't mind him if he was 5 or 6 years younger. I am in no mood to even go on with this commenting. Tough loss, but life has to go on.

We as Milan fans have to congratulate inter beating us. Well deserved win no doubt about it.
Jose is the biggest swine on this planet, I will route for any team to win the scudetto other than inter and in the CL i hope they get crushed just because i would take pleasure in seeing his sad face. Well i should heal by tue for the coppa italia. And im hoping for huntelaar to start and becks to rest.

Not sure if I am angry, or sad about this... I think we played like the "OLD" Milan without creativity and effort. Passing the ball around outside without creating ANYTHING.
Totally outmuscled by inter in attack, midfield, and defense. The so-called trident is like a lone forward X'mas tree formation. Borriello can't deal with Samuel and Lucio combo by himself. Beckham was playing like a right midfielder, without bursting into the box like how Pato can destroy the side line with his dribbling skill. Ambro was playing below par and could have been carded twice. Favalli was lucky not to be sent off. Abate was showing inexperience in this game against a tough team. Seedorf was constantly losing balls and not providing enough help for defense. Dida's ability against freekick was doubtful like his old day. In the second half, it didn't appear Milan was playing against a 10-men Inter at all. I partially blamed Leonardo not putting Hunterlaar in earlier. Perhaps Inter was lucky on occasion, but I think Milan's performance was far sub-par. I am thinking it might be a new curse for Milan, like the old curse of Milan against Juventus. Final note: Referee was not at his best tonight. High hope ended on a low note. |

Abate and Boriello? where are all those people who have been kissing their a$$es for the past few weeks? Time and time again Boriello fails to perform in a big game, and time and time again Leonardo keeps him on regardless of how bad he is performing. Just as how Leo deserves credit for the great work he's done, he deserved to be criticized for his amateurness in persistently playing Boriello. Becks isn't understanding his role as a RW. Even in the games we've won big in the past couple of weeks, he puts in good performances however tactically he was pretty awful. I agree, the referee was the worst I have seen in years, however he did his best in trying to keep Milan in the game. The Sneijder red card wasn't deserved, nor was it a penalty against Lucio as he wasn't seeing the ball and his hands were covering his face. And this isn't the first time Milan have been unable to perform in a game that counts. In big games, this team is absolutely, absolutely awful. Even ten-man Inter totally owned us. And it must be said, Mourinho really showed the difference between him and Leonardo. Nevertheless, keep in mind Leo is a new coach, and we had never expected to be in such a position at season start. Leo's only problem is that he totally is in love with Boriello and his substitutions are very late all the time. Today it was evident that Milan is not the team it used to be. This Milan is a side that totally owns the smaller teams however when big teams come to play us, they put us in place. My only hopes from today: Leo learns his lesson. The management still move while there is a week left in the market. Forza Milan, Keep the faith boys! ![]() |

We are missing Nesta and we got nobody. It is painful to see Janku playing, useless on both ends. The way he defends is worse than Abate, and age is not on his side either. Ronaldinho really should "learn" how to play when there is no smile on his face. Borriello should start to score again big teams.

I actually thought in whole we were very poor last night. we moved the ball round well outside of the area but did not really create enough to put Inter under pressure.
Our final delivery was very bad. As much as i hate to admit it, Inter outplayed us. Let's hope we can win our game in hand and that Inter will drop some points along the way. I can only imagine that Mourinho will say something like we beat them with 9 men and they still couldn't score against us when the ref gave them a penalty. Here's to the next game. Forza Milan |

All 9 of them?
This game, sadly, proved that Leo is a bit stubborn. 433 wasn't working tonight. Beckham wasn't working. We needed a 4132 or something crazy like that. Mourinho would have thrown on 5 attackers at the end, but Leo was too lame. Hope his balls grow bigger in the future.

Yes, I think Maicon dived, too. But we was not unlucky, we was just weaker in term of strength, tactic, passion, and even skill (no shoot on goal except for the penalty). With Pato and Nesta, we could only score a goal more and concede a goal less, and Inter do not have Eto, Stankovic and Schnejder (sent off early). So we shouldn't talk about luck |

Some points taken from this match and this season as general:
- Abate is not good enough even to be a substitute in a team like Milan, let alone starter at a SB. I've been watching football for 16 years and I cannot recall I ever saw a player as poor tactically as him; - Antonini is not good enough to be a starter. He cannot position himself in attack, he doesn't want to bother to run for the long ball (as Jankulovski did in a little time he played), he cannot pass his man with the ball, he a sissy (if Zanetti overpowered me like that, I would kill myself, that was comedy )...;- Borriello shoudn't be a starter ever again, he's the least good striker in our team, he should be a third choice; - Huntelaar did better in attack in 20 minutes he played this season against Inter than Borriello in 80. - Ronaldinho shouldn't take penalties anymore because any keeper can read him like a book; - When Nesta is out our defense sucks; - Our management wasn't a minimum fair to Leonardo. For the game, first half was awful and I don't want to comment that. Second half, I must say this, though I don't want to, Leonardo is mostly to blame for conceding a goal with an extra man and not scoring in the process. Seedorf should came on for Ambrosini, NOT Gattuso. Huntelaar came on too late, as usual. Any team with half good strikers would score at least one or two goals with Beckham providing so much excellent crosses, but Milan is not any team. But, in everything bad, there's something good, and that "good" is that this lost proved that we need reinforcements. I hope that winter mercato's period is not over. We need a good starting full-back, and good backup center defender. That's a minimum if we want to get anything this season. It would good, though perhaps too much, if we buy a wing-forward as a cover to Pato. That's the most we can do to save this season. |

Honestly Abate was not the problem. The problem was the lack of calm that Nesta brings.
Beckham wasn't the problem either, the amount of great crosses he put in, it was a real shame. The real problem was our loss in the midfield, and Ronaldinho's playing poorly. This was the sort of game where we miss Pato the most. However, besides Dinho's poor play, Abate making a mistake (he's not a RB, so I don't fault him) or the lack of calm of Nesta, really, this shows why we need Dzeko. Huntelaar floats, and so does Borriello. This is the sort of game where Ronaldinho is going to be marked heavily, just like the Juve game. Borriello is going to get more of the ball in a tough game like this, and he does nothing. Plus, its amazing how many crappy he is at headers. How he missed that header from six yards out, is beyond me. You see, Dzeko instead of Borriello, those periods of possession he has out on the sides? Dzeko would do something, pull defenders his way, take pressure away from Pirlo or Ronaldinho. That is the difference, and it is in games like this, the really important ones, that is the reason why Dzeko is worth 30 million and Borriello needs to be a sub. Many here have said we need to reinforce other areas. That is very true. But, its not about Beckham, its not about Abate, its not about our defense, its about our attack. Sell Ronaldinho? He's carried us to this point, and its ****ty that he played like this today and I want to punch him, but, this was one of those games where we just sort of waited for him to do something magical. Plus, the amount of fouls on him, I can't imagine how Inter got away with only two red cards (though, I'm not sure if Lucio's penalty was really one, Maicon's was worse). Abate had no experience, he's never played RB before, and he's young. Sure, Santon played well, but that's Santon's natural position. I wish Abate was able to be more direct, it would have helped a lot. Yes, I think that our defense needs help. However, even if we had Kaka, instead of Ronaldinho, we would be in the same place right now. The problem is that the point of our attack, Borriello, does not know what to do with the ball and his heading is profoundly bad. Dinho has scored more goals with his head, hell, I think Pato has. Yes we need a backup CB (Bonera, Astori hopefully?) and yes we need a fullback (or two?) but these issues (the full back more than the CB, but Astori would be great) are less important. We lost the midfield battle, because our midfield was caught between attacking and defending because we kept on losing possession in the attacking third. I don't think the scudetto race is over, but, I honestly think we really missed Pato and Nesta today. With a team like Inter, who just fouls and shoves, I don't think having only one real point of attack (Dinho) is going to mean that we can pull it out, even against ten men. The turning point of the game wasn't Pandev's free-kick, which I don't think Favalli actually touched Maicon for the foul anyways, but it was Borriello missing that perfect cross from Beckham. That was the end of the game, because at that point, our attack was toothless. I'd rather spend 30 million on Dzeko than keeping Borriello and getting a new full back, when we can just recall Astori and hope to find a good cheaper RB option. Because it wasn't some defensive problems that lost this game, it was our inability to pose an offensive threat. Antonini is a good player, Favalli didn't play bad, it really wasn't that. If you rewatch the game, you'll see, its always a break down from our attacking third. Always. If Dzeko was on this team, we would've won this game, I firmly believe that. |

It's been a long time since the last time I posted, and I just want to say one thing regarding the derby, we slowly became inter over the past few years, a good team that lacks something to win the BIG matches, I think there's a difference between having kakas and Svechenkos and having Ronaldinhos (at least this Ronaldinho) and Borriellos, don't get me wrong they are good players but we lack real champions on attack, players that can put the team over their shoulders and win a big match, and the one we have that could fit into that category is still too young and was injured......anyway is not the end of the world, we have a young and very capable manager and a few great players on Nesta, Silva, Pato. I just hope that loosing to Inter twice this year touchs a nerve on Berlusconi and gives Leonardo whatever he wants on the summer, we are not that far from being great again, but we do need investment, otherwise we are going to be the new inter (barring the crazy spending) for years to come, a good team that just can't win.
