He can play in any one of our three central midfield positions. Has two great feet and has a tough tackle. He can come in and phase either of Pirlo or Seedorf out, but I wonder if we can keep all three of Gattuso, Flamini and Ambro if Hernanes arrives...

He's non-eu which means any move will happen in the summer.

He won't come for more than $15 mil.

We still need Krasic.

Idea: Mancini swap with Jankulovski. I don't know who's getting the better deal here, as Janku, once match fit and ready, is a pretty good player. But we can't risk playing him now that he's ****, no time to get him ready. We need a winger, though.

Why can't we just buy Cassano?

Cassano as winger? He is too slow for that position man.

I'd play him in our Seedorf role, and play him on the wing when Ronaldinho or Pato are missing.

But maybe that's just way too unbalanced.

Apologies if already posted but looks like good news if true.

Highly-rated Brazilian international midfielder Hernanes has revealed he will have no doubt which team to pick once he leaves his current club Sao Paulo.

Italian giants Inter and Milan are said to be prepared to enter a bidding war to sign the youngster, and he told TV Bandeirantes: “The fact that Kaka played there and made history means that Milan have stronger ties with Brazil.

“That’s why I feel like I’m leaning more towards the Rossoneri.”

The midfielder has also been linked with Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, but he insisted that he will only quit Sao Paulo when the club agrees to release him.

“My dream is to play in Europe,” he mused. “But I understand that first of all there must be negotiations.

“As long as there is nothing concrete, I will continue realising my dream of wearing the Sao Paulo shirt. Whatever will be will be. Otherwise, I am happy to stay here.”

Mancini - Jankulovski swap is good for me. We need a winger to replace Pato. Manicini isn't great for this role, but at least he can score sometimes, unlike Beckham who can't score at all. We have 5 attacking side backs now (though only 1 is good enough), so we can sacrifice Jankulovski for wing-striker because we have none there. Beckham could replace Seedorf or Ronaldinho when needed.

It's obvious we won't spend any money this winter, so at least we should "sacrifice" some redundant players for needed ones. It would be good if we'd swap Kaladze with someone too, or take some good cover CB on loan until the end of the season.

Of course we could have signed Pastore. If we had saved our transfer budget for 10 years straight and then sell Pato, then we'd have enough money to sign the guy. That, however, is like me saying that I could have slept with Scarlett Johansson if only I was 100 million dollars richer.

For real, he really should shut up. As there was no scouts even send to watch Pastore before hand, and when Palermo signed him in the summer, Galli and Comp. did not once comes out and said they wanted him.....

A version of the story i read says that Galliani said that we could have signed Pastore. The issue back then was that we were only going to sign Pastore if we sell Kaka. But by the time we sold Kaka, Pastore already signed with Palermo. That is why we missed out on the guy. That, of course, didn't make any damned sense considering we sold Kaka about 3 days into the summer mercato. Oh well, typical Galliani crap. We could have signed everyone but we decided to keep around half ass washed ups cause they are so much better.

what the heck! Fiorentina has been on fire on the mercato! Looks like they really want to do something. I really thought that after they lost out on Cassano, there wouldn't be any time left for them to grab anybody that's quality. I guess if there is will, there is a way.

Guess who is the only team that still has to play this much strengthened team twice in the Serie A?

....and on the last day of the mercato, Galliani announces that we still might do something on the market!!!! not saying that i believe him, but why put ourselves under such time constraint pressure to end up getting some crappy "reinforcement" or is it that there has always been someone in mind but the plan was to make it look like lack of time forced us to sign whomever they are thinking of...

If they wanted someone here, they would've done it already. Nothing has changed in the last month that could lead to us suddenly needing reinforcements. The only reason we didn't get someone is because we didn't want anyone.
