I agree with brk: I would start him in RB and play either Zambro or Antonini on the left.....however something most of you would disagree with me on, for me Oddo must start as soon as he's back, especially against Man UTD. Oddo is a big game player and throughout has career he has faced alot of great players such as CR7 and Kaka and he has totally dominated them. For me, first choice should be Oddo in the games that count... Zambrotta was always better at the left flank, but I think R80-Antonini are doing much better than R80-Zambro from Barca. I think we might be seeing the end of Zambrotta too.

brk, yes Mancini is cup-tied. I'm glad to see Leo got what he asked for yesterday, another wide attacker.

edit: We have the option to buy half of Mancini's contract in the summer, not full contract.

but as my Romanisti friend says Mancini can be a bit wayward, his best friend was Cassano at Roma, does this tell you anything? hopefully Ambro and Rino will slap him up if he causes trouble.

He´s in a real good form for a start of a season. By the way, since he recovered from a knee surgery last season, his form improved.

At first I was afraid(not the music) he was a 2 year wonder, or a product of São Paulo system. But I was wrong, the guy is a real meastro...

Regarding Mancini, I hope he produces here, but I´m not a fan. Sure he will give Leo some options in a 4-3-3, but I never rated him high.

People don't get confused, Mancini isn't a RB, and NEVER was. He was wing-back in 3-5-2 formation, something like Serginho with us during Zaccheroni's time here. I don't think he was even as good as Serginho in defending. At least Serginho could recover with his tremendous pace.

In today's football, Mancini is a winger or side midfielder, but can play AM if needed. He will be cover for Pato and Ronaldihno.

Mancini will fill in for Pato when he can, but i'd rather see him start as our RB, instead of Abate or Zambrotta. Abate should stick to being our wild card second half sub. Antonini should be our backup FB in both positions, and keep Zambro on his toes.

This is a great move. Like the Beckham deal, it gives us a lot of options and solves so many problems.

I disagree about the lineup. While Pirlo and Ambro behind Seedorf has worked against smaller sides, it's left us vulnerable a many occasions. I also think Abate and Antonini should and will keep their starting places. Both have done pretty well, Mancini hasn't really played RB for years and is much more a winger and Antonini has been much better than Zambrotta this season. I think Abate deserves the nod as besides the derby mistake he's been very good and has grown a lot through this season. I don't think it's right to stop him continuing now.

What Mancini brings us more than anything for me is an alternative to Pato, as Mancini runs more than Beckham down the right and can cut in more to threaten on goalscoring chances.

Beckham, is actually better suited to playing Dinho's role (though he's no where near as creative) or Pirlo's role, meaning should they be out, he and Seedorf can cover (Seedorf can also play Dinho and Pirlo's roles).

I do feel we missed out this winter not getting better cover for our CBs, as we still have to make do with Favalli, Kaladze or a barely fit Bonera who's barely played.

thanks Brasileiro, I hope we can get Hernanes next summer. I agree with most of your thoughts on Mancini. I'm not his biggest fan either but he should be a useful option to have, and I don't think he should be played at RB either.

So Inter further bolstered their squad with Mariga. Even with Mancini Inter just add and add and add its bollox , we need more than quick fire freebies , Im glad Mancini is here but it aint going to make any difference unless he plays better than the last 2 years.

I think a nice formation would be to play Mancini on the right and move Pato to the center and bench borrielo.

I still don't understand why inter would just give him to us, there must be a catch somewhere.

For now, being free, I don't see how this could be a bad thing. Maybe he wont perform too well, but having one more option in a squad lacking depth and back-ups, is only good. And if he does perform well, then we have done a good deal.

And knowing how Milans management does things, this guy can last us another ten years. :p
