![]() and Xudong too...funny stuff man... Geo & Filipez...always good to read your posts guys. and i agree with Samaldinho's post and would like to say that what we need to look at is what SUITS Milan... Age, Qualities, Characteristics, Talent, Price, Wages, Loyalty,....all that ...and for that i think singing Dzeko is a better OVERALL operation for Milan. |

MOI, the difference of two years is huge in football. Imagine if we bought Oddo two years earlier than we did, or Zambrotta, or if we had sold Sheva two years later than we did, what about Emerson, or if Ronaldinho and Mancini came to Milan earlier. Those two years have obviously made a huge difference to a lot of players while at Milan, so, "only" two years? I'll take them.
MOI, I didn't assume anything about you, I was trying to get away from the emotions, which you are talking about, again. Maybe Revolver is being attached to a player from his country, but so what? Does anyone accuse Brasiliano of doing that with Brazilian players? Brasiliano is a great poster, but still, I think the fact that he's talking about Brazilian players makes a different than if he was from Bulgaria or Korea. I didn't want to focus on that aspect, because it opens up things that I don't really want to talk about. Revolver's frustration is understandable, because, it seems that until someone plays for an EPL team, or come from Brazil, Italy, or France, they can't be a good player, and that is frustrating. As to the more relevant question: if Torres is that much better than Dzeko, let's look at it this way: Fine, Grafite was better than Dzeko last year, that was Grafite's best ever season, and Dzeko still scored 26 goals in 32 games. That is pretty impressive. Dzeko was 22 last year, quite an achievement considering Dzeko didn't take penalties either. Torres, again, is a great player. I don't think Torres is on a completely different level than Dzeko. If Dzeko was in the EPL, he would be able to score ridiculous goals, everyone can, its the EPL, with horrible defenses and goalkeepers that seem to enjoy letting in long shots. Hell, even Sheva was able to score amazing goals during his time at Chelsea. There are more arguments, but, again, I think seeing how Dzeko has played this season especially (with a bad team, and still scoring plenty of goals), shows that not only would Dzeko do well at Milan (he seems tailor made, if you ask me) but, he also seems to have not only the potential, but he seems to have become the same sort of level as Torres, if you ask me. |

late, 2002\2003 I think, but since then I've been hooked and for some reason Milan ended up being my favorite, I think it was because it had Rui costa, Inzaghi, Shevchenko, Nesta and Maldini at the time. |

you missed 4 of shevchenko's great years at Milan that way; Dont judge a player becouse you dont know too much about him; Shevchenko was a fcking brilliant player for us, the most complete striker of them all. and he was the king in the Big games!

I love Shevchenko and im not afraid to say I love a man. There is something bubbling over at MM today , We all feel the same about the team we are pretty sure what we need . The lack common sense from Milan mgt is bizzare.
I asked my Dad and he know's everything and he said at 25 Sheva was better than Torres so there end of....lol. |

Thank your father Jay, it's all settled then.
I don't think its management as much as it is Berlusconi, I hate him so much, I honestly wish Galliani would be given 25% of the budget of Real, we really don't need to spend THAT much. Astori, Paloschi, Dzeko, and Anderson, and we'd be complete. |

samaldinho my friend,of course 2 years can be a difference but not when its about 23-25..most of cases you posted are somehow after the usual football age peak..noone was 25 when he changed as a player..
anyway i really believe in dzeko, and i think he has some potential..i just dont think he has the same quality skills as others(lke torres),i d love to have him here, but i would prefer other ones, its simple..

Yeah MGT are not to blame it is Berlu and he is old and some older people past 70 do not think rationally anymore , I mean he was unhappy with the signing of Mancini and he was free , so as long as he is around there will be no change . I can honestly see Seedorf , Pirlo , Rino , Ambro , Zambro , Kaladze still around in 4 tyears and im deadly serious they will be hitting 37 then and lets be honest a player playing at Milan until he is 37 is not strange . This may seem dramatic but even though Leo knows what we need , and Galliani will try and get it , Silvio I'd imagine will smile shake his head and arrogantly say how fantastic our squad is and there will be NO new signing's. |

I didn't want to react on bijon's post at first because it was ridiculous. Bijon is a guy who started to watch football 7 years ago, of course I don't have anything against young(er) people come to this forum, but I see some of you taking his post seriously so I will explain something.
First, I've been watching football since 1994, my first game was Milan - Barcelona CL final. Torres is a similar player to Shevchenko, I often say that he's Shevchenko - 15%. But to say he's better is utter madness. I even don't believe he will ever accomplish to be told in the same breath as Shevchenko. Shevchenko was the most complete striker of his generation, most probably since Marco Van Basten most complete striker to date. Also, he was the second best striker of his time, just after untouchable Ronaldo. When he was at Dinamo Kiev, he was called "white Ronaldo". Talking about Ronaldo, he was a true phenomenon, and imho he would be in top 5 players ever if he wasn't so injury prone. Going through his career, what he accomplished, Shevchenko almost single-handedly took Dinamo Kiev first to CL quarter-finals in 1997/1998, when they beat Barcelona 4:0 at Nou Camp and 3:0 in Kiev, and then into semi-finals next year, scoring 16 goals just in CL during the course of that two seasons. He was 22-23 at the time. Then, he was transfered to us, and in his first season in Milan he was top goalscorer of Serie A, leaving such names as Batistuta and Crespo behind. Next season (2000/2001) he scored the same amount of goals (24) but he was second after Crespo (26). He accomplished all this until 25 years of age. He was Serie A topscorer again in 2003/2004. These figures are impressive alone, knowing how good defenses were and are in Serie A. But, adding to this, Shevchenko is forth highest goalscorer of European club competitions ever, with 62 goals (behind Raul, Inzaghi and Gerd Muller). The crown of his career came in 2004, when he recived Golden Ball as the best player in Europe. Shevchenko will be remember as one of the greatest strikers of his time, and also he's told and will be told in the same breath as the best strikers ever. |

It's all about culture of football ... There are players who don't play anymore (or still play like Sheva but to a lower level than in the past) that you must know when you want to speak about football. It looks like bijon doesn't know very well these "classical" players, that's all. |

Of course, I think there are some people in this forum who've been watching football longer than me, some like bijon are watching it not so long, it's ok with me, this is a forum and everybody have the right to say his opinion and of course it doesn't mean that some younger fan can't be right when I'm wrong. |
