Guys don't be naive and put the blame on Favalli. I saw few posts ago that we conceded first goal because of Favalli, how the hell that could happen when the guy wasn't even on the pitch?!

The battle in second half was lost in midfield! Not at the sides but at the midfield! And it started about 40 minutes into the game. Our attacking trio is as passive in defense as it could get, so our midfield was put on the tremendous pressure, and when midfield was gone, we suffered, best shown on third goal. With no help from midfield defense can't do nothing.

This is a price we pay for not having proper fullbacks period. moan and complain as much as you want, beckham was useless all the game long, seedorf should be brought on half time to hold possession, seedorf was very hungry bring him in, dont wait untill u are 2 goals behind. beckham go back to L.A

I'm not blaming lady luck many times but the key word for this game is : UNLUCKY !!! what a sh*tty scholes goal, also antonini was out injured when they scored and from his side came that cross, silva had to cover the left side and was missed in the center.

Favalli was utter crap, valencia had so much time to cross. After the 1-2 the team looked knock out... thats why manU scored that 3th goal. luckely we recovered after that, and after seedorfs goal we couldve easely scored a 3th. pippo, max, silva/nesta...

It was a GREAT GAME, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, and I'm very proud off this team tonight, we deserved sooooooo much more!!!!

Also, we completely lost it in the second half. It's easiest to put all the blame on our side-backs, but they're not guilty at all. Our midfield lost energy, Seedorf should came on for Beckham before we conceded second, because that straight midfield 3 did not work, it should be switched to 2-1, with Seedorf pressing high up. Ambrosini's walking back is not the way that Milan's captain should play, ok I know he's tired, but it's not the way that Milan captain should play, again. Defense should not be blamed because they had no support. Huntelaar didn't have enough balls to score. But, it's clear that he is not the striker we need in this system. He can't do anything on his own, he can't hold the ball, co-commentator on my local station, coach of one team in our league, said that if Milan would have Dzeko, they'd be the best team in the world.

It will need a miracle to for us to qualify for quarters, but the first thing to do is to alter this system, so that our two wide strikers help in defending, a no more flat 3 in midfield, and please no more Dida.
LMAO. Tell that coach he doesnt know sht (thats why he is coaching in that league)

Whats next man Dzeko walks on water, parts the sea, etc. We neeed mids and defense first. Now i really want this Dzeko guy to come so he can either shut my mouth or i can bash every last one of you that cant get off his nutz. We out played ManU most of the match. After Antonini got injured things started to tumble. I dont see what Dzeko was going to do diffrent.

Actually, I wanted to say something else but also wanted to write quickly ...

What I wanted to say was that there was no real relation between the injury of Antonini and the replacement of Nani by Valencia.

Even with Antonini in, Ferguson would have replaced Nani by Valencia because Nani just made a terrible show (the new C.Ronaldo ?! Ahah) and signs of anger appeared on Rooney after all the missing passes of Nani.

So this replacement was a "must be done" one, for 2 reasons:
- the bad performance of Nani
- the fact that Nani's performance pissed off Rooney who already had a yellow card

The first goal was a fluke. But the second and the third started on our left flank of defensive line. Actually, after Favalli was in for Antonini, Ambro even Dinho went down more often to help. But Valencia was just really having his night. Nothing to be blamed about but perhaps our luck! Antonini was playing very well before he got the injury.

Huntelaar, Becks had shockers. Favalli struggled with Valencia. I cringe every time the ball is crossed - Dida could have punched the 2nd Man U goal.

Our best was Silva, theirs Van Der Sar.

With his size & pace I would push Silva into a holding midfield role aka Rijkaart with Bonera & Nesta behind. Antonini & Abate have the pace to look after the flanks. Ambro & Rino just in front of Silva & I rekon you have a formidable two thirds. (Minus the keeper)

Pirlo, Dinho, Dorf, Pato, Borriello, Pipo & Becks can look after things up front - it is just a matter of finding combinations that work the best.

During the 90's we would pressure teams & keep them mentally weak or fragile. Inter do it now domestically & their success at home is starting to give them confidence in the UCL. Yes Barca pulled them apart but Inter are extremely strong & it takes a lot to beat them. We must change our attitude flair & skill only go so far & Leo has to get tough; apart from Sliva - NO ONE EARNED THEIR WAGE TONIGHT. To lose to a better team is ok but for players to go missing for 40 minutes a game is inexcusable. These lads have to "turn up" for 90 mins EVERY GAME. As sonn as this starts happening Success will follow.

We need a new Keeper, a real one, one who will make defenders do their job, one who will have a real presence on the field. If we go shopping for flair & skill in the summer time we will be in the exact same position next season.

For Leo - Harden up on the lads. They are not your mates & you are not one of the boys, make them do their job or piss their lazy asses off to Man City. 90 mins per week NO LESS everyone else does 40 hours or more.

For Galliani - Pull your finger out & get us a decent Keeper & we will soon need a Finisher. Just get them!

FORZA MILAN!!! I love this club.

Huntelaar & Pippo both missed a great chance! Rooney was the difference in the result of this game! We need to have a 'shevchenko' again!!!

its true we were unlucky today but that doesnt mean anything..

once antonini got injured we fell apart, you cannot blame favalli for not being good, you may ask yourself why such a player still plays for us,and if i m not worng i remember our coach(who by the way is one of the best scouts alive!)asking for cissoko for excample..

i couldnt believe my eyes with today's nesta too..i actually didnt know that he can be less than perfect(so less..).the biggets mistake of the game was between 60'-75 when we fell asleep=pathetic

the worst thing that i read was people missing ancelotti,of course leo made mistakes, but ancelotti would have never used the players this way,leo is getting the 99% of these players, thats all they have..carlo would have played a tragetical 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 with ronie in the med and pato lonely sc..

if carlo was in charge of this team we would be out of 4th place in serie a and most propably out of the first round in ch.l.,considerinbg last year's milan, this milan is a miracle without (especcially missing the best player we had).

ps antoninis injury destroyed us attackingly more than defensevely,we lost the pressure on their right back, and moreover favalli could not follow the upcoming valencia..

Great post! You're right, T. Silva does indeed look like Rijkaard, quick, great long balls, great reader of the game, hard shot, just doesn't have that Rijkaard's strength. For me, he seems like Baresi with his runs up through the middle and his coolness in defense. Unfortunately, we lack a decent, consistent, CB to put him in midfield, though it's not a bad idea.
