actually, Dida is better off playing, as I heard that he could hurt himself sitting on the bench. so for his sake, we should play him.

I think we played well, and suffered because we didn't finish our chances.
The big question for me is: Can we play the same way at Old Trafford? I read that Man U haven't lost a UCL game at home in 52 years, and have never lost by a 2 goal margin....don't know how true it is, and won't try to verify...and while records are made to be broken, I don't see us doing it. Its quite refreshing to see the "never-say-die" attitude and the optimism on the forum, and I must say my spirits are lifted as a result of reading some posts. That said, were I to bet, I would put money on United advancing. FORZA MIIILAN (regardless)

Geo you are right, and Warro, seems like age is catching up with you...we beat them 1-0 at OT in 2005 through a Crespo goal... and we also beat them 3-0 in 2007 at the San Siro so I got no clue where u got those numbers...

But who cares ? We can beat them 3-2 and win the penalties, or beat them 4-3 with an Inzaghi goal (just for fun) at the 94th minute when the referee announced 3 minutes of injury time !! ![]() |

I like itYou guys should just relax, because ACM will advance with a comprehensive display of total football at OT. Don't for get we were without Zambro, Flamini, 100 % fit Pato & virtually Antonini + Seedorf against Utd. Plus the fact that we played with 10 mean without a goalkeeper. Here is a fact which will make you all happy. Aston Villa defeated Man Utd this year 2-0 at OT for the first time in something like 20+ years. ACM defeated Madrid first time ever in UCL away. Similarly Madrid scored their first ever goal at the San Siro in 50+ years. So relax, its just another match for ACM and we will win it at the end much to the displeasure of Andy Gray & other Sky pathetic pundits One more thing is that now days, it doesn't really matter whether you are playing home or away. You just have to score and win regardless I am optimistic about ACM chances & some thing tells me that KJH will be ACM's saviour at OT![]()

i now think Dida is beyond defendable, the more you defend him the stupider you look, it would be like somebody saying Ricardo Oleveira was the next Sheva for us. the sooner we lose him and his big wages the better, Abbiati is more than capable of taking the job on.

As for him supposedly being the reason we lost, MilanNews seems to think differently. Last edited by Blacktop; 19-02-2010 at 15:15. |

i think it is fair to say that our failings to score the 3,500 chances we had were just as bad as the grass skimmer ball Dida failed to save that came off of Scholes standing leg, for a GK that should be easy pickings. i dont think he inspires confidence in the defence anymore, for every point blank stunner save like vs Chievo? he then has some real downers that cost us big mostly.

First, it's clear that we can't play without either of Pirlo and Seedorf. Seedorf is not a real playmaker and with 2 DMs behind him, our game has no organization. On the other hand, without Seedorf, with Pirlo in his position, Pirlo always track back to create play and then he cannot help Ronaldinho up, because obviously he can't be in two positions at the same time. So - Pirlo deep to create play and Seedorf up to help Ronaldinho.
For Abate, I don't agree, I hope Zambrotta and Antonini will be ready, that's crucial for our success in Manchester. We badly need side backs to push up to help wide attackers and also to be good in defense, so our defense could play high up. Ambrosini behind Pirlo and Seedorf I don't agree, because he's slow and don't have legs to cover all that space alone. Borriello, no from me, he can't do nothing and that's it. He can't show it at this level. Christmas tree, again no. It's the most balanced formation for us, but Ronaldinho is in the middle - not good because his static and middle is crowded, and Pato is lone attacker, even worse. I would not change much from the first game. Abbiati is must in place of Dida. Zambrotta perhaps on RB instead of Bonera. Also, Flamini perhaps instead Ambrosini (almost impossible to happen), and Inzaghi is MUST in attack because he's the only striker who can show it at this level. ---------------------Abbiati------------------------ -----------Nesta----------------Silva--------------- --Zambrotta-----------------------------Antonini--- --------------------------------------------------- --------Ambrosini (Flamini)---------Pirlo------------- ---------------------Seedorf----------------------- --------------------------------------------------- ----Pato----------------------------Ronaldinho----- ---------------------Inzaghi------------------------ For this, we must give Flamini and Inzaghi as much playing time as possible until trip to Manchester. Also, Pirlo and Ambrosini (if plays) will need to rest at least one week before the match. |
