Personally, I really hate this new TV scheduling of the CL. Really wish Milan is playing against ManU this week instead of having to wait for another two weeks or so. As a lot can happen between the 1st and 2nd legs.

aah.. no wonder the other group of teams hasnt played yet, and supposedly we are to play at OT this week ..

anyway, as for the moment, its a good thing for us as we need to recover some players to get their match fitness too , zambro, oddo, pato, etc.. not to forget some other 'senior' players

For the first time i am impressed by boriello !
usually he wastes X no. of chances before scoring one
but today he was a pleasure to watch ! i truly hope he continues with this

is it me or does abbiati looks way more comfortable in goal compared to dida ?

i am no tactician but it seemed they were not playing the usual 4-3-3 today ?

forza ragazzi

Well true, but it can goes both ways, like more chances of players getting injured.

Yes agree.. but since as per today I think most of our (injured)players are recovering, therefore I just try to be positive & look at the other way only haha let's hope for the best for the team !

Maybe to me, only Antonini is the player that I wish can recover by Leg 2. As I think Zambro and Oddo have both passed it. Seedorf is a joke as always-I think people are just too proud of his few great games per season and forget the millions of horrible games he usually played per season. As for Pato, he has all the ability in the world but he tends to over do them at times. So it is good for him not to be 100% to play Leg 2, that way he won't be over doing it too much.

I agree on the fact that I won't be happy nor confident if I see Zambrotta and Oddo against Manchester ... After such an injury and probably only some minutes in Serie A before the OT game (actually, I even don't think they will play one minute until this game), I wouldn't understand why they would start.

well, I did not expect both of them (zambro , oddo) to start either though they would probably make it for the return leg, Im afraid we, sadly, need either one of them to 'fill up' our bench on that day, as having either one of them imo is much better than janku/ favalli on that day at OT.. just in case

I think we did pretty well against bari. Borriello's goal was really important in opening up the game, which became rather comfortable after that point. However, there are areas we can improve, as we were extremely slow in our build before the first goal.

The first half was a rather dull affair, as Bari fully pressed in the final third of the pitch and had little intention to really try and attack us. This lead to us struggling to make space and get chances at goal. That said, we dominated and had everyone in their half through the first half. The goal was something we've seen throughout this season and Borriello must be complimented on a great finish.

The second half opened up as Bari chased the game. This left them more prone to the counter and we created a couple of decent chances, with Pato taking his well. We weren't particularly brilliant, but we took our chances and did well to end the match comfortably (Abbiati played a big part in this).

Players...

Abbiati - Quiet match but great save on the penalty
Abate - Extremely solid down the right and always an option going forward. Excellent.
Nesta - A few sloppy passes but otherwise very solid
Thiago - Great again, he's dominant in all parts of the game
Gattuso - Worked hard and looked better than he has done this season
Pirlo - The man has been great this season and continued in this match. The way he spreads play is really important for our game
Ambro - Solid but unspectacular
Dinho - Great throughout, he was really good on the ball and played a huge part in both goals. What I was particularly pleased to see was intelligence in his positioning and cutting in.
Pato - Good goal, but otherwise fairly quiet. I said he needs support last match, but also it would be good to see him cut in more like Dinho did. He showed why he's not a defender when he gave away the penalty.
Borriello - Worked hard as usual and great goal too

We did relatively well, I have few complaints about the performance as although we could have been better, we didn't expend too much energy for the result. It's good to see Leo was unfazed by the recent press reports and I think this helped the players focus on the match. Tactically we managed the match well which at times we've been guilty of not doing this season.

Next it's Fiorentina who have been struggling of late, though they might be getting back on track now. We need to be careful, but a win is a must.

If Seedorf had not scored the second goal for us, we would have be done and dusted in CL. Seedorf delivers when it really matters, and that is what legends do Plus I remember Zidane and Figo playing pathetic in La Liga against teams like Valladolid, Xerex, etc etc, but they delivered on the bigger stage when mattered most. But i guess every one has his own dis likable player, so you can continue bashing him. I don't mind

i also hate this schedule because i just realise that i wont be able to see the second leg due to my work plan, which i did thinking that the second leg would be the usual 2 weeks after!!!!
now i think i have to find a good reason to postpone this calender major event or get sick "again"
i'll will have to see this game live...
