Veron was played out of position at Utd I remember him playing for awhile just behind v.Nistelrooy Veron is and was not a trequartista or fantasista or whatever you wan't to call it.
Also I remember Anderson playing for Brasil youth teams and Porto he was great going forward and was fast could dribble good passer. But he goes to united and has no attacking aspect to game so Fergie does not know how to utilize some players like all managers everything doesnt work out. As for Adriano if someone can guarantee that he will be on top form not every game but have a good attitude try his best and doesn't moan and doesnt party (he can party all he wants when he retires) then yeah take the gamble , but it will be a gamble. And if he doesn't work out if he comes because its only a rumour then you know MGT will say well we needed a striker we bought one and though it hasn't been perfect he's the best and Dzeko will be somewhere else not that is a sure thing he'll work either nobody knows. But although its a rumour about the Emperor you can see how it is something that Milan will do , take the cheaper option of a fallen broken player who has discovered good form in his home land with his family near where it is easier to score than in Europes top leagues and the CL and maybe not as much pressure wher he is the king. |

The problem is the first part I quoted ... he left Italy because he didn't feel good, because he had personal problems, etc ... so it's a big risk to take him again. Anyway, a guy like Nilmar left France because he didn't like to be far from his family and didn't manage to acclimate to the culture, now he is older and came back in Spain, and he is a starter ... That's the only question I have about Adriano: can he be back to his full fitness (no doubt) and be 100% concentrated in football and Milan if he comes back in Italy ? About pressure, watch some Brazilian games and you will notice that pressure in some of the clubs is huge (more than most of the clubs in Italy and other European countries).

If I wasn't mistaken I remember reading somewhere that The Emperor receives a royal treatment, so to speak, from his current club Flamengo that he can take part in training whenever he feels like doing. And the president approves this behaviour. Perhaps someone else can confirm this.
Anyways I don't like this idea of getting him. He has all the talent to become an excellent player, but not the right mentality. Merda seems to have a tradition in producing this kind of player what with Balotelli as their next prodigal son.

But it is a huge gamble and I have read too that he pretty much does what he wants within reason , he won't be as good as we would hope and there is better more expensive options , but whatever they do if anything it will be an improvement. |

I don't know if it's true ... Allowing a player to do whatever he wants to make him happy (and by knowing he is paid) looks really "big" and strange for me !!
If someone has some reports about that, we wait for you !! ![]() Brasiliero ?

Not sure where else to post this, but a lot of the Italian press have shown respect to Leo as he stood up to Berlu's recent comments. For those who say Leo is not strong enough (generally or with players), this was a good sign that he's not necessarily friendly as perceived.
Also interesting is Sacchi said Berlu never speaks without reason and after a 3-2 loss to utd we beat Bari 2-0. |

Honestly, on paper Adraino is awesome, but in real life, he is pretty much a cancer to any team outside of Brazil at this moment. |

About the coefficients......next year Italy will definitely have 4 in the CL because that's already set. But this year's coefficients will have a big impact on next season 2010/2011 and we might have to be fighting for 3rd spot starting next year.
However, it's not that easy for Germany. It's not going to come soon I think unless all Italian teams get knocked out of both the CL and the Europa L while the German once continue. So the best way to hurt them is by Fiorentina winning against Bayern. Add to that the trouble that teams like Werder, Hertha, Wolfsburg and Hamburg will have then it's really not given for them. Keeping in mind that Stuttgart has 1% chance of getting by Barcelona. Anyhow, those coefficients on the link are for this year only right???? As far as I understand they are. So when you add the last four years to that (since Uefa adds the last 5 years' coefficients together to rank the leagues) Italy is still ahead of Germany although by a very slim margain. Italy - 61.481 Germany - 59.374 BUT, Italy needs to start doing better. Because if Germany ranks higher this year too, then trouble will start coming in 2 or three years.

Of course, it is available only if the clubs in France are able to keep their best players (and add some young ones like each year), which is something they never managed to do ... ![]() PS: I didn't see any link on the thread ? I found this one: http://www.eurotopfoot.com/coef/coefuefapays2010.php3 ... it is interesting because you can then click on the following year and see what is happening (of course, there is a blank in the table ...). And yes, by looking at the small margin between Italy and Germany, Italy could well have only 3 spots in 2011-2012 as the total coefficient at the end of this season will determine the number of spots for 2011-2012: only one solution ... Milan beating Manchester, Inter beating Chelsea, Fiorentina beating Bayern, Roma or Juventus winning Europa League, this way, we'll be ok for two years I think !! ![]()

You are absolutely right Geo.
The biggest problem for Italy next year will be the fact that the 2006 numbers will not be a factor anymore. And that's where Serie A has it's biggest advantage. (2006 - Italy=15.357/Germany=10.437) That's why this year and next year Italy simply has to do better then the Germans. And like you said.....starting off right now will be great! ![]()

I think you guys are wrong on one thing.... Italy is NOT safe for the four spots for next year.
As you guys realised, the coming year the coeffecient for Italy's performance 5 years ago will get erased, as only the previous 5 years count. Italy's best year was the one 5 years ago (2004/05 I think). After this season ends, that year will be erased and this year will count instead of it. Many people think that Italy is already safe for the four spots next year, but I really think that they are wrong. Just look at the tables and calculate for yourself. When next season (2010/2011) starts, they will take into account the years from 05/06 - 09/10. If you want to make it easy on yourselves, just count the four seasons of 05/06, 06/07, 07/08, 08/09 and then add to them this year's coeffecients. I think we will see that Italy has the edge by the smallest of margins and Germany could overtake Italy this year if they do better than us. Can someone please confirm this? |

2008-2009 + 2007-2008 + 2006-2007 + 2005-2006 + 2004-2005 In bold is the best season of Italian clubs ... So, for next season, Italy is already 3rd. It would be too difficult for countries and for UEFA to organize competitions depending on the current coefficient (as the first rounds for CL and Europa League are in July if I'm not wrong). It's in 2011-2012 that Italy could be in trouble because of the current season: 2009-2010 + 2008-2009 + 2007-2008 + 2006-2007 + 2005-2006 And it could be worse then if the Italian clubs don't start winning again as the country will lose its best coefficient ... Anyway, a possible scenario for the next 4-5 years is to have each year a different country obtaining the 4 spots ...
