I'm actually all for the 4312. I'd love it if we try that against Roma. It seems like the right moment to switch, after the Pato injury.

I mean, we have a big fight on Old, so, wouldn't be better if we try something new? A new tactic with 2 strikers.
My choise would be: Oddo and Zambro on DR/L to recover them for Old, Pirlo-Flamini-Beckham to rest Ambrosini, and in the attack Mancini-Dinho behind Klaas. And in the second half, Klaas for Pippo, Dinho for Abate. Complete rest Boriello and Ambrosini, and we have Adija for right winger, so why don't try him on the position of Pato?
We have to decide what is more important: try to beat Roma, but then to lose against Manchester. Or to try something new against Roma, lose, but then go with all our power to Old TRafford.
I would do the second one, because, we can cache Roma the whole season (12 more games), but we have just one chance to beat Manchester, and to do this we must have all players full fit

That's just stupid. We should try as hard as we can, with the best 11, to win at Roma. We shouldn't even think about Old Trafford yet. The league is more important. The CL is more luck than form and fitness.

I'm not surprised about this at all, because Ambrosini doesn't fit in Lippi's system.

There is no system at the moment that would favor an off form player over an on form player!! simple as that

As much as I love Gattuso,he doesnt have the legs to play WC football, sadly. Ambro too is an old player but his positioning gives him the edge ove Gattuso atm, since Rino is very depended on stamina, pace and power!

it's not just about positioning, Ambro is actually a FOOTBALL PLAYER!!!
i have no clue what Gattuso is

As for the formation for Roma, i have to say that i am with a 4-3-1-2 as well.
i think Dinho is at a level where he can produce no matter where u put him and i would love to see Huntelaar & a partner ahead of the OT match

The last time we played Roma it some what jump started our season... we went on to beat Madrid!!! lets hope for the same against Man U...
on the matter of the importance of the Roma match, i think we should pull out everything, even the kitchen sink, for this one. 3 points and nothing less will be acceptable... we need to put the pressure on inter...

Against Roma I would probably play, Abiatti, Bonera, T.Silva, Nesta, Janku, Pirlo, Flamini, Mancini, Dinho, Borri, Hunter.

This will be a really tough game, its hard to say who will win, I think its a 50/50, both teams will be looking to win and will beleive that they can. I'm scared of the totti tony combo, although I think Nesta will easily have Tony in his pocket

The best defensive midfielder of the last decade! Or you know better?!

Ambrosini has the edge over (this!) Gattuso because he's more technical, and more important, he's useful in attack. As a pure DM Gattuso is still better...

I'm sick of people bashing Gattuso after everything he's done for us. "I have no clue what Gattuso is" is disrespect not just to Gattuso, but to Milan as an institution and to all Milan's true fans. Gattuso left his heart and his legs on the football field for 5 years we ruled the world, and for example he singlehandedlly closed whole Man Utd midfield 3 years ago. When Gattuso lost his legs and speed, Milan lost it too.

Lippi has his reasons for taking Gattuso and not taking Ambrosini, after all he's (still!) world cup winner and one of two best football coaches of the last 20 years.

No gattuso was amazing that night in SS.,yes he manmarked Ronaldo and kept him quiet...but who do you think closed the other 3 midfielders..it was Ambro and Pirlo...both who ran around 14 km each that game.

Dont ever think that a game like that can be played only because one player was outstanding.

Ok, I know what you're saying, I was a little carried on because of "I don't know what Gattuso is" statement. The thing is, Gattuso can be a milkman or whatever, but he's and will always be an important part of Milan's history and actually a part of one of the strongest midfields ever.

No one is saying that. It's just that he's not that player anymore and he has to accept that. He burned himself out too quickly...

It doesn't matter if Gattuso was good in the past, all that matters is a players current form and what they can contribute.

Dont make a big deal about it..everybody knew that Rino`s end will come sooner rather than later..He has never been the smartest nor the quickest..what he had is share power, stamina and determination, and as age came the power and stamina faded away. Only determination is what keeps him where he is. I remember members here discussing Kaka..saying that he is very depended on pace..and eventually the pace will be lost..and he won`t be the same..thats already happening IMO.The same has happened to our beloved Rino.

There is no need for discussing what he meant to Milan.I can name only few have done what he has done for us. period

P.s Everybody here when trying to prove a point in regard to how good Rino is use the Man UTD game...doesnt anybody remember the CL Final 2003,deep in extra time..Rinho running all over the pitch chasing Juve players.

ok u need to CHILLOUT...seriously....and think twice before bashing everybody and thinking u r the only true Milan fan here...
no one is denying Gattuso's history or his achievements...but for me, he was never a FOOTBALL player....whether u accept it or not...that's ur issue.
Gattuso was a machine, he could run, close, hunt anyone down, simply shut them down....but that was never because he was a gr8 FOOTBALLER....he always performed on desire, determination, work rate & stamina....but he never could play with the BALL...and that is what i meant by i don't know what he is!!!!
and now that he even lost the only skills that made him important on the field, i am in disbelief why he gets to be called to the Azzuris and not Ambro!
