Mate, as long as we are brining and developing enough youth in these years, eventually we won't need to bring in that many players when some develop into useful players.

He does so much more than scoring and assisting.Iam probably not objective enough, since he's my compatriot and I want him in Milan badly, but I have a feeling he is EXACTLY what we need upfront. Big, strong, can head the ball, powerful shot with both feet, knows what to do with the ball and doesn't lose it much. True, Bundesliga defenders are a lot weaker than the defenders in Serie A. But him being 2nd scorer of the WC EURO qualifiers (behind Gekas, who scored 4 in one game) can tell that his good form is not limited to Germany ![]() |

Yes Nesta is in for surgery:
Looks like we have almost wrapped up a deal for a new GK as well.... I don't know about this one. http://soccerleaguenews.com/serie-a/...-to-milan-176/

I think the possibility of signing him is high. This season we balanced the book and have more income. Berlusconi's wrath has shown. Quote:

I welcome him though Abbiatti still performs very well. |

Stitch: Our team needs a lot more than just a striker. We need a creative box-to-box midfielder, a CD to eventually replace Nesta and a good fullback who can actually DEFEND and CROSS before we buy a striker.

why dont we stop debating what we need first and what we need second and just agree on the fact that we need all those players? We can't win anything without a good CB to play behind Nesta; we can't win anything with the same midfield that's been here since the beginning of last decade; we can't win anything with Borriello as our target man. We need a lot of players, the only problem is, the management thinks we don't need anyone.

Of course we need a lot of players but we can't pretend that we're working with a Real Madrid type of budget. As a result, we have to prioritize our spending so that we get what's absolutely necessary first. Hence, we'd probably be better off with someone like David Villa up front but it's not a necessity at the moment.

If we don't, umh, if they don't, sorry, then, let's say they have 30M to spend, they will negotiate with 3-4 players at the same time, all players we need, but they will take the first two to accept an offer and the 30M could be spent on two midfielders for example, which would be quite weird when it seems obvious we need a CD and a FB ... Anyway, for moment, we're sure of two things: - Dida's going to leave - Favalli's going to retire We can't be sure of anything else right now. And we should getthese players for a small amount of money: - CD: Astori (co-owned) - CD (it's where he is used in Livorno): Marcus Diniz (loan) - ST: Paloschi (co-owned) What I'm asking myself right now is if our management is going to count them as real reinforcements for the team which means "no other CD bought, no other striker bought unless Huntelaar or another one leaves" or if they're going to count them as backups, as players adding a good depth to our team. By knowing that Paloschi comes back, that means two strikers have to leave ... we're almost sure that Inzaghi won't get a renewed contract. That leaves us with either Borriello or Huntelaar leaving and Borriello will not leave. So the arrival of Dzeko depends a lot on how will perform Huntelaar in this end of season. The questions are: - Is Kaladze going to leave ? (I think he will but who's sure of that ?) - Is Jankulovski going to leave ? - Is Oddo going to leave ? - Is Huntelaar going to leave ? - Is Inzaghi going to leave ? and - Is Storari going to be our 2nd GK when he'll come back ? (why spending on a new GK if we can use Storari who's been solid for Sampdoria) - How will be used the youngsters who'll come back ? - Who will be promoted from Primavera ? (Verdi, Hottor, Zigoni, Berretta, Aadiyah, who knows, instead of buying players, can we be sure that our management is not going to use one of them in the first team ? Did you notice they play in positions we need and arrived this season ... which shows some continuity, but I'm not sure they'd be ready for our first team and while I was optimistic we would buy some players we need, right now, after noticing that and writing these lines, I feel a bit less convinced !! )And if the answers to the questions 'Is X going to leave ?" are "yes", we will save a lot of money from wages ... Anyway, I just realise there are too many internal questions ... so I hope our management already replied these questions before starting to look for new players.

if we have the chance to sign Cacau(28 years old, free agent and EU),i'd let Paloschi stay at Parma one more year and develop and continue his progress...
We all agree on creative box to box,old seedorf typee player and im also thinking we need some deep for midfield such as Simplicio or Galloppa of Parma... Signing a striker instead Huntelaar(Dzeko or Adriano) Cacau instead inzaghi. Krasic as vice Ronnie and Pato,we are set in attack... Adriano Ronaldinho Pato Borriello Cacau Krasic Adriano(low cost) Krasic 15 m euros Cacau 0 in midfield; Hernanes 15 m euros Simplicio 0 Galloppa 12 m euros(one of Simplicio and Galloppa not both of them) Tremoulinas 8 m euros then RB Astori we can have a quality team with that 40 m euros instead of spending it on just one player Edin Dzeko... |

No offense to all the posters here, but if we really want to be realistic, then let's just shut this forum down. We all know what is going to happen. If we bought nothing but Huntelaar and Onyewu after selling Kaka for 65 million euros, then how much money could we possibly have to spend this summer? Astori, Diniz and Paloschi are nice young players but none of those guys should be in the main rotation for a team of Milan's (supposedly) caliber. If we have to depend on Diniz and Astori to replace Nesta, then we are not that much better off than we are right now. If Paoloschi is the guy we are counting on to give us 20 goals a season, then we are royally screwed as a team.
I personally believe that we need five new players in CB, FB, CF, GK, and CM almost equally. We cannot keep going on with this whole "that's all the budget we have, let's see how many of the 100 holes we have on our roster we can patch up with it." If we even want to get back to the level we had in 2003, then we need to step up our game and actually spend like a championship level team. If not, then let's just settle for mediocracy. |

we need to be realistic, spending 40mil on Dzeko and not getting any other replacements won't solve our problems.
Here are my realistic buys: Adriano Caucau Krasic Astori |

People from Curva sud said that Milan will sell Pato to Chelsea in the summer. Those same people said the news about Ricky before Galliani went to MAdrid to fix the deal in short time... Please do not attack me now and talk how that is not a news etc., becouse Im just saying what my friend who goes to see Milan with Curva told me on "MM sa Balkana" forum. So, Im just repeating what he said, nothing more. Rumour from Milan's curva.
OK, now... Astori for Favalli, that is the only place I approve for Astori, nothing more. He is a normal serie a player, nothing more. If we again lack money for any kind of a serious deal then really... **** it all. Diego aLves is an excellent GK, I saw im few times. Also players like Bale, Bonucci, Hernanes, Dzeko, Jovetic etc. - those are the players a real Milan needs, not some half players that are free... If we cannot bring in 4,5 quality players, mark my words, we wont have a good team AGAIN. 100mln in needed in here, and we act like Lazio again as it seems now.

But, both Graffite and Misimović improved a lot in the last month or so, Wolfsburg won 5 or their 6 last games, so you can expect even more from Dzeko in the coming weeks. We need 4 or 5 players, I've already wrote that, but, to be real, with all team fully fit a striker is most needed, full back is following him, and then a midfielder. It would be a waist to not sign Dzeko, if somebody else would take him, because he's already in top 5 or best penalty-box strikers in the world and as I already said the way he improves his game, especially his technique, team play and passing is amazing. If you ask me would it be worth to risk next season and buy Dzeko instead of 2-3 other players I would say yes. Keep in mind that we will not pay more than 25 M in money for him. |
