It seems we are waiting for Inter to win Scudetto for us with their pathetic displays against so called little teams.

Inter lost 11 points in last month and we are still behind them!

But we are still lucky, if it wasn't for Ronaldinho who wants to play at WC in June so badly, we would fight for 4th place right now.

Oddo shouldn't have started. The goal was 100% his fault; actually, probably 150% considering how comical that goal was.

Pato's case irritates me. If he wasn't fit, who said that he was and allowed him to play? Useless medical team to say the least.

Seedorf should stay, IMHO. I just didn't think that Huntelaar would score, and he didn't. Once Seedorf was off, we lacked the connection between the attackers and the midfielders. No one could get the ball and hold the ball and push forward for about a good 5 minutes until the team re-adjusted. It was 5 minutes that was wasted, and Seedorf in my opinion is a much better scorer than Huntelaar and has a much bigger heart. If Seedorf doesn't have the stamina, Leonardo should play him for the second half, but he should always stay to the end.

Flamini was a beast. Without him, we might be easily 2 or even 3 goals down. He was simply everywhere. His offensive skills weren't great and his defense was too reckless, but all he needs is "details". He does have all the potential to be really big. He just needs to play more games and make the switch from EPL/barbaric style to the Italian one. He will be useful for us.

I really think everybody in our team played well (or decently) except for Oddo and Mancini. Huntelaar didn't have too many minutes but he wasn't good at all during that short period of time either.

It was a golden chance slipped out of our hands, and I fear that it might not come back again.

lol chillaxe...

i used to like reading the forum because it was full of insightful opinions and reasonable thinking.

now if we win one game it's "OMG WE WILL WIN THE SCUDETTO!"
then if we lose the next "THIS SHTTY TEAM WILL NEVER WIN THE TITLE"

you should listen to our coach more - there is still 9 games, and stop thinking that we fail to catch up with inter once it's the end of the world.

anyways, some posters need to freaking grow up..

i think we still can do it =D

p.s.
Oddo - I don't wanna see him anywhere near Milan next season, his performance is simply horrible. i don't think there are many teams in Serie A where he would be good enough to play as a sub.

Ronaldinho - did all he could to help us win this one. every game he shows more and more of his trademark runs. he might not get to his Barca-best days but he is getting close.

Flamini - I love his fighting spirit and tough challenges that scare the sht out of opposition. Needs to play more games.

Mancini - Cannot be judged by one game out of injury. period.

Silva - Fundamental CB for us. We need another one like him.

We were so close today it's really frustrating to see us failing to get that second goal. We did well after a period at the start of the match where we looked like we were panicking at the back, we came back and were really unfortunate not to go top today.

The first half wasn't bad but we could've done better imo. At the back we were a mess and really Oddo did himself no favours at all today. The goal was completely his fault as he first played the Napoli player onside and then he somehow obstructs Abbiati on the rebound. Quite frankly, he may have well scored an own goal. After that we hit back and had a lot of threat down Dinho's side, with the eventual goal from Pippo coming.

The second half was much more about us pushing for the second goal. We pressed Napoli really well and had a fair few chances with Pippo and Mancini both coming close. Antonini coming in for Oddo added some stability and really I just don't have much more to say other than I feel we weren't quite lucky enough.

Players...

Abbiati - A couple of nervy moments but solid on the whole
Oddo - Today's performance summed up pretty well why I don't see a place for him in the squad next season. One half decent cross and clearance didn't make up for his otherwise catastrophic performance.
Thiago - Superb. I love his attitude to pushing up and trying to help get the second goal.
Favalli - Solid on the whole, a decent game
Zambrotta - Solid if nothing great, added little going forward
Flamini - A great game but he needs to watch his tackles. His problem is going into tackles showing studs.
Pirlo - A good game, struggled to dominate in the first half but in the second much improved
Seedorf - A couple of moments but otherwise added little to the match. He did work hard today though.
Dinho - Excellent, on the ball he is brilliant and really tried to drive the team forward. Great assist for the goal.
Pato - Hope his sub was mainly precautionary.
Pippo - A decent game with a good goal. Could and arguably should have scored a second.
Mancini - A decent sub for Pato, as he tried hard and offered a decent option down the right.
Antonini - A decent return, maybe lacking match sharpness
Huntelaar - Never really involved after coming on

I think we were good, though not brilliant. Our midfield struggled to dominate in the first half but improved a lot in the second. Our biggest problem, as has been the case throughout the season, was we didn't take our chances. We create chances but often lack that clinical edge.

However, there are positives to take from the match. Flamini is really dominating games now and becoming our replacement for Rino and the squad is performing better than expected (barring players like Oddo), given that we have some serious injuries to deal with. Speaking of which I'm hoping Pato will be ok for the next match, as he didn't seem too bad after coming off, but just maybe felt a small strain and didn't want to take risks.

Finally, I think Leo made the right choices with the team, but obviously absences are being felt atm. We need to just keep going forward, and hope we can take advantage of Inter's next slip (which is very likely to occur).

The problem is: we could only attack on the left. If Dinho was marked tightly, our chances are limited.

Seedorf did not provide good things at center.

We played better when Mancini got use to his position. He couldn't dribble but his movement and holding the ball were good.

Napoli is no weaker than Palermo, this is acceptable.

Forza Milan!!!

I think we should not rely on Dino too much, Only Dino cannot win us games after games
for Serie A. Pirlo needs to step in, Flamini needs to step in.

I agree with Flame about the behaviour of some posters, and it was a very entertaining game (hard to relax by watching it) !!

Very good game, Napoli played in counter-attack, and with their players, it was sure they would be dangerous. And we only conceded one goal, so we can be happy. The duo Pirlo-Flamini was just amazing, Seedorf seemed a bit in trouble to find his position on the pitch, too bad that nobody touched his volley/pass ...

When I say that Mancini was good, it's because he was available, don't forget it was only his second of third game, and he managed to create 2-3 chances. So, that's ok for me.

Oh and MOI, you seem to forget that we faced Napoli, not Siena !! What did you think ? A 5-0 win ?

Our guys tried until the end, I was a bit afraid especially in the last minutes that we could suffer a counter-attack, but the team kept being solid until the final whistle.

So, despite the disappointement to be behind Inter when we could have been at the top, I enjoyed this game and think our team made an excellent game (and after that goal + Pato out in the same minute, I really thought this game could turn really bad). I'm proud of my team today, and if we can play with this grinta all our games until the end, I have no doubt we will be champions ...

To bad, Napoli played a really great match though. I think Nesta's absence is hurting us more than it seems. With Favalli we simply don't push far enough up for the most of the time, which stretches the team way to much. We basicly never got a hold of the return balls because of this which ment we had a hard time really pressuring Napoli.

About Oddo, the defending at Napoli's goal has got to be some of the worst I've seen. First he plays Lavazzi (?) onside, and then instead of staying in the middle where he's suposed to be, he goes and tackles our goalkeeper

Anyways, let's hope that we can have Pato back soon, and then NO MORE INJURIES please. The fact that we have to use minimum 1 sub on injuries per game is really hurting our game plan.

Our luck finally ran out. No late 2 goals from hunter. No late wonder strike (read seedorf last W-E, pato against fiorentina etc, etc). Nothing!!! just another entertaining but ultimately nerve wrecking match. Lets just cling on to second spot as merda have dropped too many points already and we haven't capitalized. Scudetto is a bridge too far. (Bt i'll gladly eat my words if i'm wrong by the end of the season!)

Xudong,
Seedorf shouldn't have stayed and he was rightfully taken out. The problem is that we had nobody else to put in his place but a ST (Hunter). If we had another CM who can play more advanced I would have taken Clarence out right at the HT wistle.

Also....Dev, I disagree that he worked hard.

Seedorf was a "NO LINK" between the deep laying MF (Pirlo + Flamini) and the attack. He was way too ahead of them and never came back to pick up the ball. At times Inzaghi came out deeper THEN Seedorf to try and take the ball. INZAGHI. Come on Seedorf....you gotta do better then that.

He was absolutely walking around in the first half. He should have been much much much closer to Flamini and Pirlo so he can be the smooth link between them and the front 3. Instead he was usually 25 meters or so away from them. The only good thing he did in the game was the pass to Mancini who missed a great opportunity with only the GK to beat.

We NEED Seedorf to have the ball in the attacking half and yet he saw very very little of it today. And THAT....wasn't anyone else's fault but his. Because he never checked back to the ball to pick it up and make something happen.

I am not blaming him for the draw.....(after all it's a team sport and everyone takes part of the responsibility)......although I do feel like he could have and SHOULD have done much much more. BUT when you have Inzaghi one a couple of occasions closer to Pirlo then Seedorf, and when you have Ronaldinho (in the first half) going in the middle looking for space to take the ball from Pirlo......while Seedorf is missing somewhere else, then you have a problem. And if that's what we are satisfied with and if that's what he call hard work.......then my friends our expectations of our players have dropped very low.

Agreed, that's why we need CF like Borri when Seedorf is in his lazy form.

Except the matches against Inter and the 0-0 against Roma, in all the match we lost points, Seedorf started.

If only he was a little more active, things would be different because we couldn't rely on right wing when Pato out. Despite of Dinho's brilliance, left flank is not enough and predictable.

In this match, Seedorf, Pippo & Pato should be the subs. I don't blame Leo, but that suits Seedorf's lazyness, Pippo's fitness and Pato injury state more.

LOL.. Relax OCMilano. It might feel like a defeat to you but it wasn't. We're very much still in the scudetto race so nobody should be fired now. We'll wait until the season ends before scalping some heads
