Only those 3 will be free: Hamit Altintop, Michael Rensing & Andreas Görlitz

Thanks to Rensing, we killed Bayern and win CL 2007. Görlitz is 3rd or 4th sub but Altintop is a good player, he can play at every position through the right flank. He performed quite well against MU last week. However, with the return of Robben (RM) and Lahm (RB), he will be benched.

If Bayern won't extend his contract, we should sign him because RB is our weakest position and we still lack wingers for 4-3-3

I think Messi has to literally drag Argentina to a WC title if he's going to be up there with Maradonna. Zidane didn't have to drag France in 1998, but he did drag them in 2006, that is the sort of power I don't see in Messi's game. In that sense, Baggio is a fantastic point, and a player I think forgotten to many.

We are behind Man Utd and Barca, and that is more with regard to the laws that Italy has versus Spain and England. However, if you look around the league, there are several bright Milan players. Matteo Ardemagni, is lighting up Serie A; Astori is becoming a very good CB, Matri a good striker, Nicola Pozzi is rated by many, as is Pasquale Foggia.

It seems we have been able to produce some pretty good talents, Oddo, Brocchi, Borriello are all Milan youth products, as are obviously Abate and Antonini. While these are not Giovinco or Marchiso, they show that Milan has the ability to produce players, valuable ones. I think the lack of a Messi-type comes down to the laws, but looking at our youth team now, they have really done well in one year. I think we will continue investing in the youth and seeing De Vito, Romagnoli, Verdi, Zigoni, Hottor, Adiyiah, Beretta, and Strasser taking more steps into the first team, I think in a few more years, we will see our investment in youth start to reap dividends.

As for free players? Cacau would be great. Free, I think he will take Mancini's position, and is not meant to be a starter or anything like that. Just likes Yepes. I think these are smart choices, and frankly, these are the types of players that we could use right now. I mean, Jon Dahl Tomasson was a free player, and I think we used him at critical times and he filled in for times like right now, when we face a crazy injury list.

And Aficio, I was about to say that I think of all those players that are free on the list, Altintop is my favorite. He is great, really really great. He played as a RB for Turkey in Euro 08, and he was awesome there. He can function as a winger, and even as a CAM. I think he would be a Milan player that could honestly push for a starting place, and I could see him playing as a RB for us, but also as part of our midfield, or as a winger, he really would be an important signing for us. I agree with the first part: our main problem is our lack of depth. Cacau, Yepes, and any other player of that kind would be perfect to give us this depth for the next season !!
The fact that they are free doesn't mean they are bad. It's often seen like a bad thing to sign free players, but didn't Flamini came for free for example ? That doesn't mean anything !!

About Altintop, agree with Aficio and you, this guy is a very good player, probably under-rated, surely a bit injury-prone, but if we can get him for free, we should take him without a doubt !! He can play in so many positions, it's really interesting for a team to have this kind of players (it's less interesting for these players because they generally don't have a fixed position in the team and are actually used as jokers for several positions).

About Messi, I think he will shine for a long time (unless he leaves Barcelona for some English club for example), let's not forget he is still young, he still has a lot to show.
Anyway, I think Revolver was right about the best players of all times: to be labelled this way, you need to have an amazing career, not only a few years. It's why Messi can't be labelled as one of the best players of all times, his career is at its start.

Why are people complaining about getting free players, just because they are free it does not mean they lack quality. Both Cacau and Yepes will help strengthen and add depth to the team, you should be happy that management is strengthening the team even if its slight, this is not Real Madrid, Chelsea or Man C.

1. What we need most are quality player (first for first team and second squad depth and not vise versa) and those free are not quality player we need.

I don't agree with statement saying our main problem is lack of depth. Our main problem is lack of quality except we see our team as a team that only chase a CL spot, not to fight for Serie A and Champions League.

We need fullbacks. I am surprised with Abate development as right fullback but he is not quality fullback. Antonini is ok but Milan should have better if Milan want to compete in both Serie A and especially CL (Antonini should be the backup). We have only Pirlo as creative/attacking midfield who can run. Ronaldinho won't play if we have a quality left forward since this kind of player give more values to the team. Boriello should be a sub, his position (first team striker) now is a decline of our striker quality from years before.

Then I agree the next problem is squad depth.

But it's only a condition when management want to use the money.

If Cacau and Yepes were simply squad player's for depth then fine , but as I have said there was talk of Dzeko Bonucci Vidic Torres and we are seing Yepes and Cacau neither ever world class or highly thought of by anyone on here , so its not good we need quality and players 22-27 not players just because they are free.

And Yepes and Cacau don't seem good because they are free at all. Again, Yepes is among the best defenders of Serie A despite his age. About Cacau, I didn't see him enough to really judge him, but the few I saw about him lets me think he could be useful as a sub for our wings (don't forget we have no cover for both Ronaldinho and Pato).

Im just dissapointed because I was really expecting Dzeko Hernanes/Krasic and a good young defender , instead Im looking at Yepes at 34 who will not add much we are looking to the future and a 34 year old is coming for 2 years , and then there is Cacau a striker thats 29 and has less than 80 career goals he will be 30 in march and is not stupid so this will be his last big contract (if he comes) and will not be for 1 or 2 year's.
