. Leo wasn't asking for 200 million maybe 50 or so. But that is why people are sad because it shows there will be no backing for the coach or the new coach I said when it happened that Man U were not a great side and you see how easy the knocked us out if football was a 60 minute game we'd probably be okay but it isn't.This team won't do much next year it will be very hard a year older and all.Any coach coming in will ask what do I have to work with and will be told what we have now , which is why a top quality coach won't take over just a guy who has managed mid table/europa league teams and he'll be happy to manage Milan but no Mourinho or Capello or Lippi thats a bit far fetched though , say no Spaletti or Prandelli. So it is a dissapointment that Leo will be gone in June because he is a good coach and has done a bang up job , its not as if he got lucky for 40+ games sure we lost some but it was down to lack of depth and injuries IMO. |

This team is being mismanaged so badly it's not even funny. I know I am not saying anything new but really to get to a point to have to respond to Leo rumours with a one-liner denial. Next thing you know we will see Leo waving a flag from a balcony.
I hope a self-respecting billionaire shows up this summer.

Now, is just my personal opinion, and maybe I'm overrating this, but selling your star(unless they ask to leave, like Sheva), send a wrong message around the world of football. We don't act like a big club anymore, like a contender, and if things goes this way(middle club way), we will only attract middle club players... We will be a new Lazio!!! I just can talk for Brazilians players, but there's no way a Kaká or Pato type of player would have go to Lazio. Don't know about players in Europe, but big time players(or prospects) want big clubs. They want to have a chance to win, and with the path we are following, fight for Europa League will be our destiny. Even more with the lost of the 4th place to Germany... Welcome to Lazio reality, Milan fans!! |

I told everyone in here 2 years ago what are Berlusconi and Galliani doing with Milan and what will happen. And no one took me seriously, people like to live in fantasy worlds where its all ok and we are grande Milan and will be ok. That is why Brasiliero Im considered "pessimistic", while still correctly predicting our failures in serie a and as a club.
It will not be ok untill Berlusconi sells Milan. He is not giving any money to the club and that is the end of every story. Galliani now lost ( or wanted to loose him, possible if you ask me) thee best scout we had, and one of the most precise scouts around. And for what? One year of "new circle"? lets not kid ourselves. Serafini today about Maldini working in Milan: Maldini che ruolo potrà ricoprire in società? "Penso che finché ci sarà Galliani l'ex capitano del Milan non avrà nessun ruolo rilevante. Nel momento in cui Galliani andrà via Maldini potrà tornare in società". In the moment Galliani leaves Milan Maldini can come back. Same story I told you 2 years back when I read the article Boban wrote about his visit to Milanello - about Maldini not wanting to work with Galliani. Galliani and Berlusconi are using Milan to EARN MONEY. Why is it so hard to believe? Why would Silvio sell Milan now when he can still sell Pato, Flamini and Thiago in 2 years? Of course some players will be brught in so that the story can go on and on of Milan trying to do well. "We work with youngsters", haha! We didnt work with primavera 10 years coz we had money, noone needed primavera when you have 100mln per year and the biggest luxury in the world of football. Galli as a new coach? Serie of puppets of Galliani is going on. As soon as Milan is sold we can think about Grande Milan again, not before. So once again: go to hell Silvio and Galliani! Forza Leo, good luck! At least the man is not a puppy like Carletto.

For transfers, people don't be naive, buying of 3 or 4 players will solve nothing. First we need to work on the system and then buy players to fit in it. OK, let's say we buy Tremoulinas, Hernanes, Dzeko and Simplicio, it's seems mission impossible, but let it be. And we solved nothing! We got about the same amount of energy in midfield we already have and that's our biggest problem. Because, even if a player like Seedorf in his prime jumps out like some miracle, our midfield can't take the weight. We can't, as a matter of fact NO team in the world can't compete with 3 midfielders running and 3 attackers standing. Leonardo, or whoever our coach is, must take the example from Guardiola's system, where all 3 attackers are pressing and closing down. Back then, in Capello's time, Savicevic and Massaro worked their a.ses off by chasing and closing down defenders (and midfielders). In Ancelotti's time, Sheva and Pippo also did great job in defensive area. I mentioned these two era's for purpose, because in both era's we had most energetic midfield in the world by far. Now, Pirlo can't run, Seedorf can't run, and we have 3 attackers (actually 2 and a half, because Borriello actually chases people down sometimes) coolly walking around. That's not acceptable. And for Pato - Benzema switch, I'm not for it. The money is tempting, with 55 M we could buy three great players, Pato is suddenly became too injury prone, unfortunately I think that same destiny expects him as Ronaldo, but I don't want rejects in our team anymore! We can try to find a million reasons for it, but Benzema failed at Real and that's the fact, the same as Huntelaar failed in Real, we took him, and he failed here too. If we must sell Pato, I would rather take 60-65 M, than 55 + Benzema. If you look at it with clever brain, Pato has potential to be as good as Messi, and in my opinion even better, because as now Messi is nowhere near as good and proved as some people are making him to be. But, as I said already, we must evaluate his body, because it may become fragile. |

The main problem is that Galliani seems to have no more ideas and is seems unable to innovate. Without money (let's change that: without big amounts of money), Galliani is not able to attract potentially useful players in Milan because all he knows is how to attract new stars, established players and former stars (since he doesn't have money to spend). It's actually the main problem. If we can't spend big, why don't we try to invest on young players ? But not Grimi, Viudez or Mattioni (who maybe will all turn to be good players, who knows, but they were useless in Milan), we should look for players like Thiago Silva (let me be correct: T.Silva is an excellent player, we will probably find it hard to buy another player of that kind at the price we paid in Brazil, but the world is big ...). We should also look at some prospects in Belgium (young Belgian players and young African ones as some Belgian clubs have very good connections with African clubs), in Netherlands, in Portugal, in France, in Ukraine ... But to do that, we need excellent scouts, something we don't have anymore (we had the best scout for Brazil, we don't have him anymore as he's our coach right now). A first step in the right direction has been done this year: investing in the youth teams + creating a real organization around these youth teams (which allows these young players to see what it can be to be in Milan, I mean in the first team). But if we just stop there, that will be useless.

Im sorry if you think Galliani doesnt make money from Milan. I respect you Geo here on MM, but that is simply naive. I wont start explaining as someone will again say Im crazy or something.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I wish ppl understood this and stopped trying to play football manager with our team. Big clubs have stars. If a BIG club SELLS a star they have a REPLACEMENT of equal or greater ability lined up: Barca sold Zambrotta and bought Alves. Alves is superior to Zambro Barca sold Eto'o and bought Ibra. Roughly equal transfer though most rate Ibra more. Inter sold Ibra their best star and got Eto'o, Sneijder and Milito. Even though Eto'o has a different skillset to Ibra, they have Balotelli who can possibly surpass Zlatan in every way. Real routinely replace their stars with MUCH bigger ones and truth be told, they're doing much better this year than the one before. ![]() Now let's look at big clubs that have behaved like small clubs: Manutd: Sold CR7, bought two lesser players and suddenly they are not as invincible as before...They got a ridiculous amount and bought players to cover the role....BUT NOONE of these are real superstars...i.e. none of them are matchwinners the way CR7 was Arsenal: have been trophyless since Henry Milan: Fortunate enough to have ONE superstar remaining after the $heva sale but in truth haven't looked nearly the same after his sale...Now even he's gone and the result is the worst team we've had in quite some time....But Milan has taken the lead in disposing of stars for some young or cheaper player again FM style ![]() $heva-Olivera Crespo-Gilardino Ronaldo-Borriello Stam-Bonera Maldini-Silva (actually our onlysaving grace in defense) Cafu-Zambro, Mattioni, Abate, Anto Serginho-Janku AntoRui- Kaka (omg we actually upgraded......6 YEARS AGO) Olivera- Pato Superior to Oli by FAR but still not a $heva replacement yet Dida (superstar from '03-'05) - Abbiati (not good enough then but not as bad as Dida now) Kaka-Ronaldinho ![]() This should be obvious but when you keep replacing GREAT players with mediocre players or even less good players- the TEAM becomes worse. What people are proposing with the Pato-Benzema switch continues the downward spiral mainly because the extra funds won't be re-invested in the squad. However, even if the 55M Euro were spent on let's say Hernanes (20), Bale (15) Dzeko (30) - we have to keep in mind 1)the prices I listed above will be reinflated so the actual purchasing power of our ca$h will decrease since clubs know we have cash for a change 2)integration of new players takes time. The more new players the longer it takes. The team usually suffers from mixed results in the interim 3)No match winner. Yeah I know a bunch of you think Dzeko is one but he's no guarantee. He's certainly not the pedigree of Pato, Neither is Benz. Sure neither is FAR below the level of Pato but then again Valencia isn't FAR inferior to CR7 is he? ![]()

3) Dzeko can't be a match-winner by himself for a whole season: if he has no support, he won't score 30 goals (even if from what say some people, he can create chances for himself and others, but having no support for a whole season is difficult for a player, he has to be stronger than strong both mentally and physically. But this problem is the same for Pato or any other player. All alone, the guy will shine in several games, but he will quickly become "tired".The only profit I see by changing the coach (which I don't want: Leonardo has done an amazing job here and deserves at least a second year, with some additions to the squad) is that Pato will be used as a striker again, well, it's my hope if that things had to turn this way ... PS: To make it clear and fast: I agree !! ![]()

It is clear that 99% of people here (actually, everybody but you) think that Leo did manage to pull THE BEST out of our players. So the discussion ends here. On the other side, if you really (and not speaking like a fan) expected this retirement home that is today's Milan to win anything, and now you're blaming our coach for not making it true..well, it speaks more about your football knowledge ![]() |

Its not only the loss of Leo that would be bad, but more importantly the things he want will not happen in the case he leaves. Leo wants his say in transfers and wants a decent budget for the summer! If not he wants to leave.

He forgets who he is, i.e. rookie coach who got the job in one of the greatest football clubs. Some of you say he has balls and Carlo didn't have, well I say that Carlo had a respect to superior, and Leonardo doesn't have it. If he wanted something (because it was clear that this squad isn't good enough) he should've ask it when he signed the contract, but no, it was "let's get the job first, and then after settlement, let's ask for something". Things don't work that way. |
