Never understood Pastore hype. Like you, I'm not calling him a bad prospect, but like in the past with Miguel Velozo, João Moutinho, Suazo, Perea, T. Neves, Rafael Sobis, Jô, Mario Gomez, Felipe(the defender), the other S. America defender from Udinese that I can't remember the name... There are always names hyped that I couldn't see the same as others.

Anyway, every year is the same history. Good players turned into WC without do anything remarkable in a big club, or against quality competition.

Now this character Maxi Lopez... what a joke of player. Saw this guy at River a lot and almost die(laughing) when Juan Laporta bought him to Barça... and now his name linked to us after that game? C'mon!!!! Even T. Cody from Alabama can dribble past our defense(but Silva/Nesta) nowadays...
Zapata...

btw Jô plays for my local team and he doesnt find time from parties to play...he always party...

Brasileiro, off topic yet im desperate to know what your are thinking about Elano...he linked with Milan and inter last summer and end up with my local team,Galatasaray...what kind of player he is...Gala plays him as box to box player...i dont remember one game he did good...he always dissapointed me...Rijkaard played him at DM in the last game,he is lost too much in the game, never takes responsibility...Turkish League is hard league...Players like Neill,Baros and Keita are doing great...Only Elano failed...from loans Jo failed...

Pastore, guys,The problem is here,we dont have a player like him...Palermo has...we dont...i need to watch him 2-3 90mins to judge him better, compare with Kaka...i didnt like Kjaer for instance, yet he marked Huntelaar well...Borriello well in previous game...i still dont want him come to us...i'd
rather to have D.Luiz...

Like Brasileiro said,Our defence is weak...Silva is the only WC defender we have...The rests are average...dont know how to defence...Bonera...29 years old still dont know how to mark a player in the box...Antonini and Abate are defensively weak players...Our midfield is slow, defensively weak...statik...cant help the defence enough...we conceded many goals thanks to it...

You judge this player on his past, but you can't forget what he has done since he is in Italy and plays in Serie A. Look at his statistics and you will understand: 14 games played, 9 goals scored. That's better than any of our players nowadays. It also looks like he did a good half-season in Gremio (he was certainly on loan there from the site I'm looking right now) as he scored 12 goals in 10 games. It's two completely different championships, but this season, the guy scored 21 goals in 24 games ... quite impressive for a guy who makes you laugh !!

And for example, Borriello was a big joke some years ago (when he was in Milan as the 15th sub ) and he managed to work and become a good striker.
Also, like I told you, Maicon was a big joke too when he was in France (and you said he didn't know how to defend when he was in Brazil). Look at how he turned ...

Bad, useless and almost ridiculous players of yesterday can become the stars of tomorrow ...

PS: That doesn't mean I want Maxi Lopez, but we should consider this player as a potential purchase.
Off course he matured so much from his Barcelona days...he is more complete striker now...

What worries me about him is,if he can repeat this perfonmance next season...Everybody knows him well know,The defenders will study on him, will know his moves...he will be under pressure...

Would you buy him if you were Galliani?i mean one half season and 20million euros price tag...

Fortunately for me (unfortunately for my bank account), I'm not Galliani. There are plenty players I wouldn't have paid that much and wouldn't have given such high wages if I were him ...

For a guy like Maxi Lopez, I think 10M would be a fair price. If needed, giving them 50% of one or two young players or sending Aadiyah on loan for example could be some added options to that deal.

Anyway, with players like him, the problem is always the same:
- if we buy him and he tends to be a flop because it was just "his" year the previous season, we'll have paid a big amount of money for a useless player
- if we don't buy him and he does the same kind of season the following season, his price will be too high for us

I think you misunderstand Brasileiro's post. What I understand is that he only said that many talents or hyped players didn't turn into the players they were hyped.

Like Maxi Lopez, what I understand is that Brasileiro try to take example that not all talents will be superstar in the future. I agree with Brasileiro that why should we buy Maxi Lopez? For free I will agree though.

IF I agree with the statement "That's better than any of our players nowadays", well it's easy to find players that better than our players nowadays. But are they really MUCH better than ours (read: great players)? Big NO!

I think that Brasiliero just gave his thought about a player we are (were) linked with. For him, Maxi Lopez is a joke of a player, so for him, he's not even in the category or players with talent (as well as I thought Borriello wasn't into that category too some years ago).

And I want us to play with two strikers again, we need a more compact team with more power forward (as it's obvious that even if we play with 10 defenders and DMs from our roster, we will concede anyway). So as a 3rd or 4th striker, Maxi Lopez could be enough from what I've seen so far from him (not a lot) and more importantly by knowing he has scored a lot of goals. Of course, 20M is way too much and if it's really the price his club asks for, well, he can stay there !!

I'm also curious to know where G.Rossi will go as he just put himself on the mercato again (after his agent said the contrary some weeks/months ago) by saying he would really like to come back in Italy, no matter which club (which is probably an indication that his favourite club* won't buy him this summer).

He had an amazing half-season in Parma when he was loaned there. This "come back" (he didn't really spend a lot of time in Italy in his life) is probably going to allow him to enjoy his football and more importantly his life as it is obvious the guy wants to be considered as an Italian and it probably played a big part in his success in Parma (happiness in everydays life = great morale on the pitch).

* For the people who ask themselves which club I'm talking about, it's us !! The guy is a Rossonero and also likes Juventus. In all his interviews stating he would like to come back in Italy, he tended to say "Juventus" and "Milan" in his declarations, but this time, he just didn't talk about any club.

Rabia, Elano is best used wide. he does not fit the box to box midfielder category, he was doing good in man city and he is always up to the task in the national team, again he is too petit to play box to box.

regarding Pastore, it does not take alot of time to tell if the player is good or not, this guy is all class, just like kaka(when he first came to milan). this guy has the technique, vision, pace, and rhyme to take care of milan's midfield.
IF i was to choose between dzeko or him, i will pick him without thinking twice. i am not overhyping him but what we really need is an attacking midfielder who can replace the aged seedorf. his game is very mature and very direct and collective, i just hope Braida convience the management to buy him at any cost because when u have a strong midfield you have the ability to win any game any time.

You strongly disagree?!?! C'mon!!!!
No problem, Geo... thats one of the reasons of a forum

Just to clarify, Maicon was bad defending in Brazil, but the potential was there. It was more positioning awareness and lack of perception of his first duties. But he was great going forward and physical enough to be what he's today.

"Bad, useless and almost ridiculous players of yesterday can become the stars of tomorrow"... I can't deny you're right here, but I'm willing to bet against Maxi Lopez.

As you said above, he can become a star in the future(and kills me in MM ), but only if he proves it on a big club. It was good you bring Grêmio on debate, because its a big club from Brazil, with pressure(local), but they also have a curiosity... They are know here for to take flops and make them always overachieve.

Btw, you're right when you said Maxi was a scoring a lot in his short tenure in Grêmio(plus in Brasileirão) but another flops did it too at Grêmio. My point is, imo he's a player for to shine where he's shining now... like was Suazo.

There's also the racism incident, when against Cruzeiro, he was caught by the cameras calling a Cruzeiro(black) player by some shameful adjectives a animals names... Making a quiet player like Wagner(a white guy) jump on his neck wanting to fight him. More pathetic was his interview post game saying he did nothing, when the cameras showed it all...

Thats it, all personal assumptions, but I bet he's a great player for a small club, and would flop in a big. Let's see what the future will say...

The future will say one thing for sure actually: he won't be in Milan next season ...

I read a statement from his agent or a manager of his club saying Milan couldn't buy him as we don't have the money to do it (damn, this money thing is starting to become embarrassing).

Since we're talking about players that got away, i want to let this off my chest:
i still can't figure out is why/how Leo didn't request for Bale after the Cissokho deal fell through. He's a great scout so if I, with zero scouting experience, knew how good Bale was/is as far back as 2006, i expect Leo to have noted the guys' potential and made a concrete move for the guy when there was heavy speculation last summer.

If Milan 'rejected' Chissoko, why do you think Milan would sign Bale? Bale was much more famous than Chissoko which means his price should be higher aka the more chance to be rejected by Milan.

shegs maybe leo did request Bale, and maybe the management decided not to risk 6 mil pound on unproven talent just like what happened with Cissokho

Following Milan is like running into a brick wall lately. Maxi Lopez as was said (Geo I think) may just be having his season or will be better next with an inflated price. I wonder are our mgt playing up the we are poor no money etc.. so they won't get screwed on transfer priced man I wish that was true.
