He's obviously talented going forward, but for now he's just a talent, because at LB for Milan he would cost us alot of goals. Think Jankulovski last season just WORSE at defending and much better going forward.
He might not be perfect, but he is a lot better than anything we have, by a long stretch too. At his position, a player either needs to be great at attacking or awesome at defending. Players who can do both are expensive, and we have plenty of players that does neither.

You judge this player on his past, but you can't forget what he has done since he is in Italy and plays in Serie A. Look at his statistics and you will understand: 14 games played, 9 goals scored. That's better than any of our players nowadays. It also looks like he did a good half-season in Gremio (he was certainly on loan there from the site I'm looking right now) as he scored 12 goals in 10 games. It's two completely different championships, but this season, the guy scored 21 goals in 24 games ... quite impressive for a guy who makes you laugh !!

And for example, Borriello was a big joke some years ago (when he was in Milan as the 15th sub ) and he managed to work and become a good striker.
Also, like I told you, Maicon was a big joke too when he was in France (and you said he didn't know how to defend when he was in Brazil). Look at how he turned ...

Bad, useless and almost ridiculous players of yesterday can become the stars of tomorrow ...

PS: That doesn't mean I want Maxi Lopez, but we should consider this player as a potential purchase.
Hey Geo, if you turn this statement around, it is the perfect slogan for Milan.
Stars of yesterday can become bad, uselss and almost ridiculous comes tomorrow. Well, in Milan case-it is today. hahaha

I remember reading a player at LB for 15mil that was good at both attacking and defending, also 21 yrs old, on top of that, he was and is one of the few defenders who can actually match CR9 speed, size and power. But then his new team claimed he got this huge dental problems where he is not fit to play football and canceled the contract. Then he went to another team for the same amount and now is leading his new team to the semi of CL. Last time I checked, his dental problems did not cause him to miss any games.

Anyone knows if we still own Matteo Ardemagni (or at least half of his contract)? He has scored 19 goals in Serie B and could possibly play in Serie A next season.

Yeah, but we were too smart to sign someone like that. I mean, 15 million euros for one player is just ridiculous. Players should cost about 10000 euros each because otherwise soccer clubs can't balance their books and then the sea will dry, volcanoes will erupt and sky will fall to bring the end of existence as we know it.

PS: I also recall a few posters here strongly agreeing with us canceling the deal because of dental problems. I wonder what they think abuot that deal now, hmmmmm.....

I didn't think about that !! Well done ...

About Cissokho:
- average start of season
- good/very good between November and February-March
- nowadays seems tired

For sure, the guy has potential, but IMO, he's not better than Antonini nowadays (but Cissokho is younger).
In defence, he's solid, but nothing more, he sometimes makes mistakes, and when he goes forward, it rarely ends by a goal, a bit like Antonini, always running forward but not really effective (it's maybe also because of their partners ?).

The guy has room for improvement and is a natural LB, left-footed (which of course allows him to cross more naturally than Antonini who is right-footed for example).

15M is a lot for him, without trying to defend our management as he could have been useful (at that time, we didn't know Antonini could be good).

In France, Tremoulinas (not nowadays, he also seems tired and makes mistakes, but it's the problem of his whole team) seems better: while they're at the same level behind, maybe Cissokho a bit better, Tremoulinas goes forward when needed (not like a dog running after the ball during 90 minutes), and his crosses are just perfect.

PS: The good point for these players is that their coaches probably tell them everyday how important tactics are (in Lyon: 9 players behind, Lopez forward, and counters with everyone ; in Bordeaux: controlling the game, no useless dribble, each player has his role).

I know some might call him the left side Maicon....but he is not there yet.
But from all the football matches I had been watching this season, quite a lot, IMO, Cissohko is the best LB currently right now, as I really don't see anyone that is better than him overall. Erva, Bale and even Vargas(is he still a LB, he is more like a LM to me), might be great in attack but their defense is no where near Cissohko. As I mentioned before, he is probably one of the few players in the world who can match CR9 pound to pound with speed and power.
I think his cross can get better, but his speed and the fact that he could run for 90mins non-stop, just makes him one of the best LB in this world, as he pretty much covers all the left side for his team.

In Hong Kong and China.

I think mostly b/c they treat CR9 as a God.
And those who knows football see that CR9 only struggles against older defenders as they tend to rely on positioning and fouls to stop him. BUt last year when ManU played against Porto, Cissohko became the first player(at least for them) that contained CR9 with speed and power.

But I think Cissohko is known as the Dental problems after the Milan saga.

Albertazzi against Leo
http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan...dnotizia=23391

They say that Albertazzi, called up several times in first team but never used, complained because it was useless and could have played with the Primavera instead ... Not wrong and not right at the same time (we couldn't send him against Palermo for example, but if one of our defenders got an injury, he could have replaced him, and he's probably a little jealous of De Vito).

To be honest, I actually think Leo did the right thing of not sending in Albertazzi against Palermo. BUt then again, of the three mistakes Oddo made, I think Albertazzi could have prevent two of them.
ANd to those that stated Leo should not have play Oddo as CB. Well, with the exception of the third goal. Those two goals were resulted of Oddo mistakes and not CB mistakes.

I think that Albertazzi (or Rogmanoli) should play against Palermo instead of Oddo. Oddo has been always joke as right fullback lately and suddenly Leo choose him for the CB job. The worst part is that Leo kept playing Oddo for 90 minutes. The third goal was Oddo mistake. He shouldn't let Micoli have so many space (to shoot). Oddo also played not that good in the game before against Palermo.

So, when could actually a CB from Primavera player play? Until Pirlo followed by Ronaldinho and Dida have been tried to play as CB?

It's all about protecting your young players, taking into consideration the mental aspect of the game ...

Here are the reasons why Albertazzi shouldn't have started:
- a very important game (pressure)
- Palermo is a smart attacking team (did you notice how almost all their chances were where Oddo was ? Not only because of the level of Oddo, but also because they tended to play more on his side)
- the team isn't in a good form

These three reasons just tell you why you shouldn't send a young player for his first game in this one (except for injuries like with De Vito for Jankulovski).

The main problem is that because of our bad results, until we haven't secured our 3rd spot, we shouldn't send the young guys in the battle. If only we had managed to keep the gap between us and Samp/Palermo, we could have sent these young players on pitch without too much pressure and in big games.

Ive never seen Albertrazzi play so I don't think he would of done that much better than Oddo , then again it is Oddo. Devito looked nervous when he came on but he looked confident Ive also liked what I have seen of Verdi Strasser looks good aswell maybe a bit over excited but good.
Flamini has to start every game next season as long as he doesnt get red card after card he is a very aggresive player . Rino bless him he tries but he isn't the player he once was . Pirlo if he had better fitter players around him would have to run less and be more effective IMO. Hunter if someone offers 15+ mil let him go Dinho if someone offers 20 + mil (cough man city cough) let him go and spend those $$$$$$ , To make us a better team isn't impossible but its so close yet so far away.
