as of now the difference is 0.15, can you explain to me how many points Inter alone gains if they win the CL game? and also does it make a difference if they win it over 90' minutes or in penalties (I think it would be considered a draw and each team gets points)? |

I don't know what happens if the game goes to extra time. I am really not sure about that.
But without the extra time confusion, this is how it will work out: As of right now - 3.Germany - 64.207 (1 team left, Bayern) 4.Italy - 64.052 (1 team left, Inter) If Inter wins in the final then Inter gains 2 more points for Italy. That'll give Italy an extra 0.286 in the end (when averaged out) which will help them surpass Germany. More elaborated: -Italy right now has 106 points for the season. Which when averaged to 7 teams is 15.142 for the season. When you add 15.142 to the previous 4 seasons you get 64.052. -Now, with an Inter win, Italy will go up to 108 points for the season. Which when averaged to 7 teams is 15.428 for the season. When you add 15.428 to the previous 4 seasons you get 64.338 (exactly 0.286 more then the present average, which is obviously more then the 0.15 that's keeping them behind now) So then (with an Inter win) this will be the scenario - 3.Italy - 64.338 4.Germany - 64.207 So like someone said earlier, it is pretty much a final for the 3rd positions in the rankings between Italy and Germany. Now like I said before Inter played Barcelona, I really don't care if Italy loses it's place for a year or two. Milan should be challenging for the title anyway which means that securing 3rd place "shouldn't" be a problem for us (yet the way things are going who knows). The fact that Italy is realying on Inter however is really bothering me because this is the team that sat around acting like a saint and taking all the prizes while Italy was getting deeper and deeper in the mud during calciopoli. While now it's evident that they were just as involved as everyone. Having said all that though, if I put all my hate for Inter on the side for a second......I can't help but think that Milan might need the 4th spot in the future with the way things are going in our club. But who knows, maybe this will give Berlu a kick in the ass. Anyhow, there is no way that I will be cheering for Inter or celabrate their goals or anything crazy like that. I will watch the game with a "don't care" attitude. If Bayern wins then great, I'll enjoy watching the Inter b!thces cry and suffer. If Inter wins, then that sucks, but at least the scum will send some good towards our way by keeping Serie A up on top. And as much as we don't like that, it'll be huge help. More teams in the CL for Italy, more viewers. More coverage, more sponsors, more big players....MORE MONEY for the whole league IINCLUDING Milan.

Oh Revolver. I know you dislike Leo, but to say that he was asking for too much from the MGT is just non-sense.
As someone had already said, one of the things he asked was a better medical staff. Whats wrong with that? Another thing he asked was more say in transfer, which basically every managers in Europe has been doing. Then he asks for signing young quality players to replace guys like Kala, Seedorf and company. Now he is not asking for Xavi, CR9, Messi, Essien and others, he is only asking for players who are still under value in today's market. All and all, I really don't see those requests as being stubborn or irresponsible as those are steps that require to rebuild a team/dynasty. BTW, JM asked for a lot from Moratti and he pretty much got them. First he wanted two wingers-Mancini and Quesrma-which the failed but nonetheless, he got them, then he wanted a CB who can pass-Lucio, rebuild the midfield with better players-Motta for Veira, Snejder for Dacourt, a more clinical striker-Milito, a speedster-Eto and Pandev. I will bet any money that, if Berlu actually got Lucio(much better than any CB other than T.Silva and Nesta in Milan), Motta, Snejder(can work as the box to box that Milan desperately need), Eto, Milito and Pandev(those 3 are much better than having Hunter, Borri and Mancini) to Milan. I am pretty sure Leo will be leading Milan to a title and might still be running for CL too with some luck. I remember you once stated that Leo took the job knowing full well what type of squad he was going to get. But didn't Berlu and Galli kept saying last summer that they got a huge present for Leo as their coach.....but that never materialize. The point is that Berlu just don't care about winning anymore as he stopped investing into a club which he claims he still love. Inter might not have been winning alot over the past years, but no matter what state they were in, Moratti kept investing. |

Give Inter some credits for making it this far. Heck even when Milan was the best team in Europe a few yrs ago, they were never once close to winning the triple. And at that time the squad was much better than the one Inter has now.

I have to stress, Inter ARE NOT close to win triple. They ONLY HAVE chance to win tripple. That is very different. If they already secured two Cups, they are close to win triple. The way you described Inter is like they are much better than Milan a couple years ago. Look at how bad they are in Serie A. Their competitors in Serie A are (much) worse (the squad) than a couple of years ago before Calciopoli, otherwise they already dropped to the third or fourth place. The are in CL final right now and still have chance to win Coppa and Serie A, it doesn't mean they are better than Milan a couple of years ago. I know that Inter reached final is something unbelievable (could be suggested to be written in the Guinnes book of record ) but it shouldn't make us forget the objectiveness. They are good but not that good (they way Inter-Milan-fans described them). |

The fact is that in Italy, you have 4 big teams (historically and recently): Milan of course, Inter now, Juventus and Roma. So, these 4 teams should fight each year for the title if everything was ok, which means that Milan could finish 1st one year and 3rd the following, 2nd then and 4th the next season. With Juventus coming back from Serie B and having lost several of their players because of Calciopoli (of course, they had to be relegated, the point is that they are still "in build"), that means we should have secured our 3rd place for the last 3 years (since the Calciopoli). With the come-backs of Juventus and Napoli*, two historical teams (Napoli has a weird story actually and didn't win many titles) building their team slowly, with teams like Palermo also trying to build their team, and with Fiorentina* also trying to become big, you'll suddenly have 7 "big" teams in a near future. *Fio and Napoli are Top 8 teams when you look at their results in Serie A, which means they are as able to be in Top 4 as they can end 6th or 8th. So even if "for Milan, a 3rd place should be secured each season", the fact is that you can't forget that Milan isn't the only team in Serie A and there are other teams with money, able to build something more or less quickly and as a consequence, if they manage to do so, no team will have a secured place in the Serie A Top 3/4 (the fact is that it is perfect for suspens in Serie A, perfect for the level of the championship, but it can only be bad for Italy in the European competitions as the first 4 teams of Serie A could change every year). PS: I don't talk about Sampdoria and Genoa as nobody knows if these teams are on the good way or not to build something, it's why I hope Samp won't qualify for the next CL because I'm afraid this team could be a one-season threat and nothing else.

Now moving on... Berlusconi and Galliani have been the best management team in football over the last two and a half decades, and this is evident in the results we have achieved both nationally and Internationally. However, it is clear that right now the club is not in a healthy state. We have an ageing squad with little to no investment to build for the future. We have spent poorly by offering huge contracts to players who don't really deserve it, spending beyond our means without considering the consequences enough. This method of management was accepted over the past 2.5 decades, but now clubs need to manage resources as the sport goes forward and clubs try to ensure they avoid the problems Lazio, Roma, Fiorentina, Leeds and Portsmouth have suffered in the last decade. Our spending policy since 2005 has been highly questionable in the least as we made many signings or renewals which quite frankly unnecessary and even damaging. Inter, whilst enjoying success post calciopoli have not been managed well over the years. They spend insane amounts of money to get their players and have made many poor decisions over that time. However, they always had reason to hope as they have consistently kept getting some of the world's best players to keep the side competitive, something which Milan aren't even close to doing atm. Their fans during their years of failure were just as vocal, probably moreso, as Milan fans are right now despite Moratti's willingness to spend. Sacking Leo isn't about not spending in the summer. Many respect Leo because the majority (fans and professionals) agree that he has achieved more than expected given the resources at hand. He also has given clear indications as to the kinds of players he wants to build for the next generation. The outcry against Leo's sacking is it's simply unfair for him to shoulder the blame when he's not got enough to work with in the first place, especially given his successes this year. As for Leo's demands, I don't think many will think they're unreasonable for a club like Milan. A good fullback (Cissokho), a highly promising midfielder (Hernanes) and a potentially great attacker (Dzeko) were his main requests last summer, with none of them met. Compare this to Real Or Barca who were willing to spend 80-90m on individuals, when in reality with a budget of just around half of this we could have gotten the three aforementioned players. You say Mourinho can't request this and that player, but then contradict yourself when you say Inter got Sneijder Mourinho is a very demanding coach and he wanted guys like Sneijder, Lucio and Milito and got them, despite Inter already having a massive squad.
