I wouldn't be too concerned about our link with Otamendi. He is a pretty solid player who has a bright future. And also, I think the link was just a courtesy link more than an actual one. We have to be linked to some players that other clubs are interested instead of pure crap so the paper just went with this particular one.

I would rather we spent the 12 million on Mexes than Otamendi. In fact, I would not be surprised if we could actually grab Mexes for less than 12 million, he is clearly out of favor, and hasn't been playing. That was a poor move on Roma's part, when you are a team that needs to get rid of a player in order to finance your moves, I don't know why you wouldn't put him in the shop window.

Oh, and remember that Shikabala player I was telling you guys about? His contract is over this winter, and he just scored a great goal. Check it out here.

He is truly a great talent, it seems that clubs are circling him big time. If Napoli grab him before we do, I'll be so angry.

There is talk of Leonardo actually staying, thoughts?

Reading some of these rumors I get the feeling those linked players are not aware of what is going on inside the club or may be their agents are not aware or choose to ignore it.

The thing is Mexes' future depends on Burdisso's loan. He's been a nice surprise this year especially if we compare to his display in Inter. That said I don't think Mou will let him go that easily. I remember when Crespo was loaned out to us and played well, Mou, then coach of Chelsea, insisted on keeping Crespo instead of loaning out or selling him.

Where'd you get that buddy? The last rumor I read was that Marco van Basten was also considered. Funny, cos he was even more "stubborn" or strong-headed than Leo IMO. In fact, I never see a champion that isn't stubborn in one way or another.

Or maybe it's a slow day and the players in question are not even aware of the links , but it did say regarding Otamendi that Velez want 20 million and Real and Bayern are interested , It will be an interesting mercato in the sense that it will be full of surprises or heartache.

Feeling optomistic today for some reason about the future don't know why cannot explain just a feeling.

Yeah but there isnt too many Pato's about the kid is very good and has 14 gaols from about 24 games playing out of position.

yeah but if we could do some gourcuff and Silva like signings we could get 4/5 good to very good players for that money. If the money would be spent in a smart way I'm all in for selling pato to be honest! IMO the word is REVOLUTION and not evolution, this team needs so much changes, if those players signed will all be under 25 or so we would have a very bright future!

A lot, bayern... Teams like Santos, Internacional, São Paulo don't sell easily. If he was a Flamengo, Fluminense, Cruzeiro or Grêmio player the price would be more reasonable.

I'm curious to see how some Brazilian teams(the hard sellers) will do to balance their books. In the near past a team like Santos, Inter and S. Paulo negotiated peripherals players, to keep the W. Class in home for at least 2 or 3 seasons. Now, with the crisis in Europe, the values of the sell of a middle players can't help in the financial balance.

Today, if nothing out of this world happens, I can't see Santos selling one of Neymar or Ganso for less than 30M... For the record, Santos President said yesterday on TV they will stay for Brasileirão.

I've always wanted Robinho and I thought after he had such a slump in bad form at a rich club like City, it would have been wise to take him for whatever we could get in January. Too late now!

Robinho don't deserve the bash he takes... He's no Kaká, but is far from a party boy like Ronaldinho and Adriano. Unlike what some European press like to write(to sell newspaper), is a great looker room guy, and never created a internal problem with teammates. Also, every Brazilian journalist that talks to him, says he's a really good boy and very down to earth.

This Santos team was already playing amazing football before he arrives, and people had the fear his "behavior" would implode the team. After all, he came labeled as a "cancer... Big BS!!!

Santos players(veterans and youngsters) loves him, and as always in his career at Brazil NT, theres no one can found a bad thing about his behavior. So, or Robinho suffer of bipolar disorder that only appears in Europe or someone is creating "facts" to sell papers.

I saw this guy several times, and theres no way his worth a non-EU spot. Just because he's a regular with Maradona, doesn't make him worth.

To be fair with the guy, he doesn't deserve the comparison with Mattion, Grimmi & cia, because at least he's playing professional football as starter for some time, and reach Argentine NT. On the other hand, to be called for Argentine NT as a CB nowadays means nothing. The level of the Argentine CB's dropped a lot...

You know I'm hard on my fellow Brazilians, so it's not a Brazil x Argentina thing... It's just that unless this guy shows a level that I could not see until today, there's no way he's worth a non-EU spot.

As I said to you in the past, Ganso talent is out of this world. Also, I praised him for his new(and improved) work rate. I just said he would suffer with Serie A game. Until today, in the games against more "European like" teams in Brazil like São Paulo, he struggled with tight marks. Even lost his cool elbowing Dagoberto in the first game against São Paulo.

Now, Brasileirão will start(Saturday) and I will be able to see if he improved this aspect of his game. As you said, he was amazing against Santo Andre in the final. But S. Andre is a team that play like Santos, all attack, to outscore the opponent and let a lot of space at the back.

If it was neymar or Ganso, i'd agree... neymar suits milan's needs more (imagine this ronaldinho feeding pato and neymar.... instead of borriello and huntelaar, 100 assists!).....

But I just LOVE players like Ganso, i think he reminds me more of rui costa than any other player.

Don't get me wrong, I love this type of players too, but I still see a lot of Alex(Fenerbach) in Ganso. To be fair, Ganso work rate now is in a level Alex can't even dream, and thats always push back the last one in Europe(Serie A).

Today, he shows the work rate needed to Serie A, but I still want to see if he reacts different to the lack of space and tight marks. He will receive special attention now in Brasileirão, and I'm really curious(and hopeful) to see if he improved at it...

No problem, my friend... São Paulo game was horrible, pure cattenaccio(sp?), and Flamengo x Corinthians was deception because of the storm that fell before the game. At least, even in that pitch Jucilei was a monster one more time.

Btw: São paulo is playing right now in the second-leg of Libertadores.

question for Brasiliero: Have you followed Pastore? What do you think of the way he palys that "trequartista" role? He reminds be of Rui or Boban a bit, not Kaka' as people say. Aldough he tends to play inside the box and vertical etc. Today its extremly hard to find classical CAM that has artistic vision, and that is why - football soeaking - its was tragedy we sold Kaka'. Its easy to find good CB's, solid fb's, young midfielders, but there are always only few great CAM's. So my no.1 wish for a great team is a great CAM. Thre rest can be built, but "brain of the team" cannot.

My friend, I still didn't see the player thats several saw in Pastore. I'm still out of his bandwagon. But what you said is right, a classical CAM is hard to find, and thats was one of the biggest reasons that I bash Kaka departure.

Even here it's hard to find this type of player, a world class, because goods there are several. Of Brazil promises at this position, there are three that I like, and unfortunately the youngster was sold to our rival Inter for only 3M, Philipe Coutinho...
