^^ 4 mill is definitely enough for strolling on the pitch. Ask Seedorf in case of any doubt.

Bale signed a four year contract extension today so anyone who was hoping for Bale will have to wait 4 years or maybe 17 years you know what I mean.

All joking aside Pippo has done well for us over the year's but an extension is a bad idea he's 37 soon and really 1000,000 % offers nothing now not even spring Pippo so thank you for the hard work but move on.

I must agree, I'm disappointed it looks like Pippo's going to sign for another year. With all due respect to him, I think this season he's really showing his age now, and his spot would be wisely used for a fresh face in the squad.

Guys, let's put the ball on the ground a little...
Despite all the talk about Leonardo's exit and his possible replacements, I think Leonardo will stay for another year. For everything he's done for us (especially as scout), perhaps he deserves another chance.
Now, assuming he'll keep the same 4-3-3 system, I want to sum up our squad's roster and ours, in fact Leonardo's, needs. So here we go...

Goalkeepers

Currently, we have two goalkeepers, Dida and Abbiati. Storari is on loan, Roma is not used. Between Dida and Abbiati, Leonardo prefers Dida. But, Dida will probably leave in the summer, not just because he's old, but his wages are too high. Now, it's clear that Leonardo doesn't trust in Abbiati too much, so he probably wants another keeper. One keeper that's constantly lined with us is Villareal's Diego Lopez. If new keeper arrives, Abbiati will be backup and Storari will leave. If not, Storari will be backup for Abbiati.

Defense

Starting with CB positions, I think Nesta and T. Silva are certain as a starters. But, Leonardo can decide to use T. Silva elseware (more about that latter), so we'd need another CB. Mexes is a world-class CB we've been linked again lately. I think if a coach could handle his temperament and his will to leave his position to join attack too often (like Mourinho did with Lucio), Mexes could be one of the best defenders in the game. But, his arrival depends on whether Inter will sell Burdisso to Roma. If not, Mexes will stay put. For backups, we have Bonera, Onyewu and Yepes, Astori will probably arrive, and I don't think we'll buy anyone more here. Kaladze and Favalli will leave.
As for side-backs, Abate (only right side) is most frequently used, with Zambrotta (both sides) and Antonini (left side only) nearly the same. But, whenever both of the latter are ready, they have advantage over Abate. That means Leonardo is not completely satisfied with his choice here, so he'll go for another side-back. We're linked with Azpilicueta (only right), Aogo (only left) and D. Luiz (both sides; CB who can play SB) lately. Azpilicueta will not arrive, because his price is 15 M. David Luiz will be too expensive too. I want to point out here that I think we need much better full back on the right, because obviously we have Ronaldinho on the left, and right back needs to cover all side alone. Anyway, arrival of one side back would mean we'd have four of them, and that's it. Jankulovski and Oddo will leave.

Midfield

This is a part of the field that's most problematic. This season, most frequently used trio are Ambrosini, Pirlo and Seedorf. From this, it's obvious that Leonardo wants a midfield of technical all-around players. Starting with DM position, Ambrosini is mostly used, Gattuso is backup and Flamini is third choice. But, Ambrosini is too old to be running engine of a team, and though he's more technical than Gattuso, he's not so technical actually. So I think we'll bring someone here. Javi Martinez and Jucilei are DMs we're linked with. Flamini is probably the best player of our three DMs, but it's obvious that Leonardo doesn't trust him. I think he will have to leave, and we must play it smart here, because Flamini was amongst two best DMs in English Premiership before he came to us, and I think clubs like Manchester City, for example, would be ready to splash 20-25 M euros on a player like him.
Other thing I've mentioned already, T. Silva could be turned into midfielder. That's why we're linked with Mexes I think. I think he would be truly great as midfielder: he's quick, great reader of the game, great in the air, has great attacking intelligence for a defender, when he actually uses his passing he's very good in it... I really think he can be heir of Rijkaard and Desailly in Milan.
As for other two positions, Pirlo is certain, but Seedorf lost his legs. We're linked with Hernanes for this position for two years now. However, whoever we bring here, it's important that he can replace Pirlo on his position, too. Unfortunately, there are few AMs who can adapt their game to play deep-lying playmaker, only one that gets on top of my head is Pjanic, but he's not for us. Hernanes would be good, I think.
As for backups, with two new players, Gattuso, Ambrosini and Seedorf would be backups and I hope with backup's wages too.

Attack

If Leonardo stays, and this whole post is based on that, I think Ronaldinho will stay too. Him and Pato are two side attackers. What's been problematic this season is we don't have a replacement for Pato. Huntelaar clearly doesn't work on the side, in fact he doesn't fit in this system at all, so I think he'll be another one to leave. We're linked with Cacau lately, and I think he'd be a perfect replacement for Pato, and furthermore he can play in every position in attack. Mancini will stay as a cover for Ronaldinho.
As for CF position, Dzeko is too expensive for us, so I think Leonardo will stick with Borriello. Inzaghi will stay as a cover. We have Adiyiah too.


To sum up all, our transfer campaign will probably be something like this:

I didn't read the whole post as I have few time right now. I just want to ask a question and recall one thing.

So firstly, wouldn't it be better to keep Storari (good level, low salary) and keep the money spent on, in your example, Diego Lopez for another player ?

And then, Cacau officially signed a new contract, so you can forget him.

If our money issue continue, I can't see us in Ganso race. He will be very expensive. That said, the #1 in that scheme is the best position for him to shine in Europe(even more in Serie A). It would be natural for him. Not only him, but for any #10 coming from Brazil. As I said, it's natural...

I hope he takes the right(and own) decision regarding a European team. Do his own homework, and don just hear a agent focused on the better offer. Have any of you guys really see this Pedro Leon for at least 5 games, and against big competition? Still remember 2 years ago the hype in Raul Garcia(now in A. Madrid) as a amazing mid and that time, found it strange Real and Barça weren't after him... and after to watch he playing some times I understood the why. Another case of over hyping...

Ganso has ability to gain italian passport I've read somewhere. If Arouca is 3mln and if that is REALLy possible, we are crazy not to take advantage of it.

Yep, until 31 august, Arouca will cost 3 Millions(euro). But was thinking about the news, and now I'm in doubt if it's a clause only for Santos. I need to check it better. Anyway, pay 5 to São Paulo and get a amazing player and professional. I'm happy he turned around his career because I hyped him a lot here some years ago, and was starting to feel the heat of a mistake... even if injuries played a big role.

Didn't know Ganso has ability to obtain Italian passport. I'm not doubting, but were did you saw this?

Kaka... a combination of some factors. A foreign coach that didn't know him, a drop of form, fall in confidence and a sub(Andrezinho) that was getting in and playing good football.

Yep, Giulliano was the best player of Inter, and before he left his team to under-20 WC, they were the leader of Brasileirão. Good news? His price didn't got inflated.

I wonder how many of those Brazilian prospects will come to play for Milan in the near future? As to me, I doubt any of them will be coming due to pricing.

They are only coming if we sell some of our remaining stars. Without the cash from the sale of Pato or Silva, we are never going to bring in any extra quality players. Afterall, we have a squad full of upcoming mega stars in the youth team, why would we need to sign anyone?

Then there are Anderson, Carrick, and Berba, all good players.

I think this is the year where there will be loads of players moving to different teams, and I am not talking about wash up former great players but actually players who can still play for 4-5 years at the top level.

Drenthe too. Gerrard won't leave Liverpool, but is about to turn 30 and has been awful all season - fits our criteria perfectly.

For Anderson, Carrick and Berba, the fact you had to add 'all good players' show they aren't great. Anderson is young enough to become much better.
