indeed it is what a shocker that was , Tassotti her you go be a puppet . Leo was no Ferguson but he did well with what he had , for those that thought he should of done better than he dis thats unfair. Sure he got some things wrong like all rookies but some of the games we lost or threw away was because the team by large is old. Pirlo Seedorf Dinho Favalli Oddo Zambro Rino Amro Janku were always huffing and puffing and blown at 70 minutes when we were in the CL they were tired after 30 mins . Any athletic strong fast team is able to beat us now.
Add to that Abate Antonini Bonera Borri Hunter as ordinary players Flamini underperforming and wreckless Pato out for half the season Nesta the same it was hard for Leo and will be harder for Tassotti as they will be a year older more injury prone slower and less motivated. Dinho has to go i think as he will not be as motivated outside a world cup year he may just stay do nothing get 8 million and leave for free , the rumours around Pato Silva even Borri are worrying as the indication is even if players go the money wont be spent because we are concentrating on youth (yet sign and want to sign players over 30 IDK) So now that we have 3rd let all the young guys play against Juve at home with no pressure as we cant go up a place or down a place. I know some will say it will kill them if they lose heavily , but im talking about De Vito Strasser Adiyiah Verdi and Albertrazzi 5 players mixed with the regulars.

Just saw the news. A shame but we knew this would probably be the case quite some months ago, so nothing really new. Thanks to Leo as a player, director and as a coach as well as the numerable positive things he's done during his time at Milan. Whilst not a legend at the club in the same way Van Basten is (i.e. a legendary player), he's definitely been one of the key figures of the club's success in the years he's been here, and so a legend in this regard.

I am so disappointed with the news..its brutal how we have treated probably on of the best things that has happened in our recent history.

Wish you all the luck in the world LEO...you didn`t deserve this.

We lost the guy who together with Paolo could lead us to glory in the future..What a combination it would have been...a perfect one!!

as expected. but still sad. Leo wanted a new Milan and silvio and co clearly dont want that, they think they are doing well... I hope they wake up soon

Next move is to sell Pato? Becouse I cannot think of any worse move by our genious Galliani!! And since he is trying to do every possible thing wrong, aguess its Pato to go off.

Leo was a genial! scout, who brought us Kaka', Serginho, Thiago, Pato... he was never a coach and, that was probably the problem, never was a puppet that Galliani and Silvio wanted, so the man quit. He has pride and I respect him for that, unlike some other coaches who were here and Tassotti or Galli who are already prepared to be puppets even before it starts.

This is a sad day for AC Milan, as we lost a great member of the club after he simply did what he could with the veteran team he got. I cannot understand that in Galliani's mind this is a good road for our club, to loose Leonardo!

Idiotic move by Silvio not to listen to Leo more, and now during the summer we can go on to the "new, new circle" again. **** you Silvio.

All signs point to a painful summer probably not many departures but not many arrivals either , i'll hold out hope that no contracts will be renewed for Dida or Pippo and that next year all the guy's who have expired contracts will be let go aswell , maybe the youth will step up but atm its all so strange .

Whoever takes over now will know they have no budget a squad with and average age of 32 or older , a team that has not even looked like challenging for something since 4 years ago , and is supposedly full of champions .

Our MGT are odd keeping all these old players this long , I mean Frank Sinatra is a legend but how many CD's did he sell last year ????

Well, Galliani and Berlusconi both got what they wanted out of Leonardo and now it is time for them to move on.

I think someone posted here a couple of weeks ago that Galliani was threatened by Leonardo's presence as he thought Leo was going to take his job. So, he practically forced Leo to be our new coach, knowing that there is no way he can accomplish anything with this team to make Berlusconi happy. And now that the expected results happened, he can go on and play the nice guy to try and convince Leo to stay, and try to smooth things over between Leo and Berlusconi. Galliani gets rid of the guy he felt threatened by while walking out of the whole situation like the good guy here. It is quite brilliant in many ways. I'd like to see what he can do in politics, watch out Berlusconi!

Berlusconi could care less about this team these days other than the financial statements. As long as he doesn't have to spend money, he is fine with whatever. Leo's performance this season gave him another year of big paychecks from the CL qualifications, so he is ecstatic. Then, of course, when the push comes to shove, he is going to criticize Leo because keeping him would mean giving up some power within the club and actually spending money. Now that Leo is out the door, Berlusconi can focus on picking the next victim of his appearantly brilliant scheme of a financially profitable winning club.

Leonardo, despite not winning any trophies this season, should be remembered as a legendary coach of this club. He overachieved with a squad full of garbage and deserved much better than this treatement the club gave him. I wish him the best of luck at whatever position he finds himself in next. I also hope that one day, a brilliant owner is going to bring him back to the Milan family again.

One last note to Berlusconi: if you think this team is going to turn in any type of profit whatsoever, you better think again. Since 2006, we have lost too many legends and greats without replacing them because of your cheapness. The fans can be as unforgiving as you can possible imagine. The drop in attendance this season had already shown that. If you think season ticket sales were bad this season, just wait until the start of next season. No matter who you pick as the coach, the decision to force out Leo will backfire on you in a bad way, count on that! I, for one, have resigned myself as a total Milan fan to become a pure speculator of this team. And as a speculator, let me tell you this: You WILL get what you deserve, Berlusconi! Count on that!

You know what worries me the most now ? Not that Leo leaves but what said Galliani and hoped I would never read ("there is no rush to get a new coach" => and how will you know what to do on the market if you don't try to quickly get the new coach ?) ...

I am very sad to see Leonardo leave. I think he had great potential as a manger, and its a shame that we won't see him as Milan's manager, as I really think he could have become a successful manager here at Milan.

The problem at Milan is Berlusconi. It's very simple, he is the Prime Minister of a country with a bad economy, if he spends 30+ million it will look terrible and he'll come under even more pressure and he'll lose the Premiership. It's very simple, stop making it sound like its some grand conspiracy from Galli and Berlu to destroy this club. If they wanted to do that, why didn't they earlier? It's simple, Berlu can't spend money because of his position. Simple.

However, even if Berlu didn't want to spend money, why did Leonardo have to go? I wish Leonardo stayed, and just had more control over what little money would be at his disposal. That's where people confuse Galliani's job. It's not like Galli gives the transfer targets for the manager, Galliani simply gets the players he's capable of by finding what the owner and manager agree upon.

The theories that Milan is waiting for 2011 to get rid of all these contracts and then renew, is a fantastic theory. The only way that theory might seem more logical is to see what gets done this summer. It also will matter to see who becomes our manager this summer, but more importantly, what is our transfer season going to look like. If the players whose contract ends this year, leave (Dida, Inzaghi, etc) then I think we are actually looking at a genuine transition.

However, if Tassotti comes in, and we simply renew those players, and don't even attempt to buy anyone new, then I think we're looking at the management simply hoping for some sort of miracle, and that they've officially lost their minds.

This mercato will give us answers, real one's, not some random plot from our management to destroy Milan.

From what Leo said, it looks like he never enjoyed his new role, he doesn't like being a coach and what is weird is the "I never felt as being the coach of Milan" part. That really shows that it was a bet by Galliani to use Leo there, and Galliani partially lost it (as we can't say Leo did a bad job, but keeping a coach only for one year is a failure, no matter the results).

Now, Galliani, instead of saying there is plenty of time to get the new coach, should do his work with Berlusconi to make a list of potential coaches with a hierarchy and start the first negotiations !!

PS: He said that there was a lot of time before the 20th of July ... which means that they want one of the coaches who will be in South Africa ??
