J.Cole is free player, at least for now, Aquilani is gonna be sold for 11mln, Juciley is 8mln... That is 3 great players for 20mln+wages. Wage of Juciley and Aquilani is not a problem for Milan, while Cole is ( which can be fixed Im sure).

Of course for that we'd need someone to already be working on bringing in Cole and Aquilani and Juciley. We are probably thinking of a new role for Seedorf and maybe inserting Stasser.

Calciomercato.it says Milan will most likely buy P. Leon for 10mln and he was being asked by United, Tottenham and Real Madrid. Dont believe in anything

I clearly remember that Leo was praising Bale last season, when noone knew he was that good, and there was talk he wanted to sell Marek and bring in Bale, but Milan didnt do it. This year, at the U20 Wc, when everyone watched Giuliano, Leo said how he was impressed by Ganso and how he'd bring in Ganso and Brasil's LB. Now we are left with super duo Braida-Galliani to find players, which they cannot do and havent done for ages except when they had 100mln to buy 3 players like Rui, Pippo and Nesta. Which my mom can do also.

It is really a bad news for Milan, Leo leaving, yet people do not seem to value Leo as much as he deserves. Galliani pushed out a great member of the club, and we only made step backwards again.

Well I never rated Aquilani that high ... He's actually an average player who did some good games, like all average players.

He's always injured and his performances aren't that exceptionnal when he's not injured, so I don't think he could be a solution for our midfield.

PS: We already have problems with injuries, if we buy injury-prone players, it will never end.

Also Calciomercao writes Milan will sell Dida, Huntelaar, Oddo, Onyewu ( to Chievo ), Kaladze... No mention of Jankulovski, none of the great cempioni in midfield. Also how Milan will buy Mancini just to sell him and Dinho will maybe leave now that Leo is gone.

Huntelaar, Oddo, Onyewu, Kaladze, Marek, Mancini - that is at keast 25 mln from these players ( plus wages money ). Not bad, for players we really cannot use anymore!

But the key is midfield, if we stay with these midfielders we cannot play serious football, maybe in veteran league... or croatian league!

Well, actually i was thinking the same before posting it. But i was just think, if Ronaldinho can play like Pirlo/Xavi as a ball distributor in deep midfield. He can pass the ball as good as any one, rite? But why he doesn't run that much is a mystery?

its not going to work, that role requires a player who is consistent and works hard, it also requires a lot of intelligence and the movement required for that role takes time to master. Also old established players are not very likely to oblige to changing their role in a team. One player whom I think could be successor to Pirlo in that role is Ever Banega of Argentina and Valencia

As for coaches discussion, I really can't see what's so tragic in Leo's departure.

I don't know why many of you think that Leo is sacked because he would ask for transfers.

Honestly, to get 4-5 new players (some free, some for the money why not?!), it's not the problem.

The problem is:
If we look just this season, that shows we have just 4 great players in the team: T. Silva, Nesta, Pato and Ronaldinho. Pirlo supposed to be good, but this season he's sh.t. With Ronaldinho back at his old-self it would be 3 great players. Let's count we have good (but not great) keeper (Abbiati or Storari) and we can afford one average player in the team (Antonini), that's 5 players, which means we need 6 new, classy players, including whole midfield! I can tell you just one team who can afford to buy 5 or more classy players: Real Madrid.

So, we need a coach who has a clear project in mind, who can get ABSOLUTELY the best our of his players, and knows exactly which position are critical and kind of players who'd fit in. If Van Gaal made a CL finalist from a silly looking team with few investments, I don't know why for example Lippi can't do the same with Milan.

I read lately that Ancelotti thinks Tassotti would be great for Milan, as "he has clear project in mind and tactical knowledge". Taking into account respectful opinion of Ancelotti (the best club coach in the world right now, by the way) and the fact that Tassotti is a very tough man, I would welcome him as our coach. Any of our famous back-four was a very intelligent and tactically perfect player. Out of them, Tassotti has an advantage because he is assistant coach for almost 10 years, and 7 of them are under Ancelotti. So, he had someone to learn from and he knows these players very well.

I wonder why Galliani went all those troubles convincing a novice like Leo to take coaching courses if Tassoti is THAT good.

Being an assistant to "best club coach" for years doesn't necessarily mean you can be just as good. Brian Kid was Fergie's right hand man in the 90's and he was a failure both in Blackburn and Leeds United. Queiroz, another SAF's assistant, was a joke during his year as Madrid head coach.

And about your other point, I agree that our legendary back four are "very intelligent". Nobody doubts Baresi's quality as a player. But he coached our primavera for years in the past, and what has he achieved? Nothing. Billy also coached some team from lower division last year and he quitted (or fired I'm not sure)without any notable achievement.

"Tactically perfect player" doesn't always transform to equally good coach. Otherwise Lothar Mattheus and Ruud Gullit would've been world class coaches for years now.

Tassotti might be a tough man, but to quote Clint Eastwood from Million Dollar Baby movie: "Girlie, tough AIN'T enough"

I'm watching Getafe vs. Atletico too, and Pedro Leon seems like a good player. He's willing to run at defenders, though not unneccesarily, and makes intelligent passes- his assist for soldado's 2nd goal was good, bt he hasn't tracked back so far (92 mins). I jst hpe its bcos they're controlling the game.

Nice to see Dida getting a farewell, no matter what we all think of his performances. Leo's farewell was even nicer, he really is a humble and calm guy.
