he said that but there seem to be some players of that quality (david villa, maybe torres if he decides to leave liverpool, lloris, even dzeko) on the market but do you think berlu would actually spend the money to get these guys?

or how about just getting Criscito, Bonucci, Krasiac and Hernanes for a total of 40-50m and making the team vastly better while promoting youth and getting rid of the old guard.

i hope they spend but i dont see it happening.

Let's not forget we started last year summer with the sale of Kaka' in few days. This year is already better as none of our best players is sold after 3 days ...

With some smart moves this year we can rebuild the team:

-----------------Abbiati------------------

-Casseti------Nesta---T.S-------Antonini

------Hernanes-- Flamini--Simplicio------

-------------Krasic------Pato-----------
-------------------Dzeko----------------
Bench:
Storari
Bonera
Albetrazi
Yepes
Zambrota
Abate
Pirlo
Seedorf
Straser
Ambro
Verdi
Pipo
Borriello

Players out:
Huntelar - 13 mil
Dinho -22 mil
---------------------
Total Revenues 35 mil.

Players in:
Dzeko - 30 mil
Hernanes - 18 mil
Krasic - 18 mil
Simplicio - 0
Casseti - 0
---------------------
Total investment 64 mil

Difference paid 29 mil

With only 29 mil investmnt we can have all our Midfield and Attack under 26 years old. This line up has it all: youth, experience, flair, technique, tactical awarness, can transform easily from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2, and most important we have a bench which can make difference in a game.

If Berlu decides to splash an extra 20 mil than, we can have Jucilei and Aogo. and we are set for the future.

The only department needing help will be defense, which we can rebuild during the winter mercato and next summer.
---------------------------------------------------
I can`t believe that with only 50 mil we can rebuild in a year, still be very competitive and our mgm can`t see that.

let me know what u think???

Edit: I bet with this team It wont be hard to lure Gus Hiddink.

i would like to get a new GK and would prefer Criscito over Cassetti, even though it would cost more, but i agree with you. if they manage the team with some intelligence they can build a very strong squad without spending too much.

Well, I don't know the situation for Cassetti, but I never thought about this player as a potential starter in our team ... Same for Simplicio, I know several posters here rate him quite highly, I don't know him enough to do the same thing, so I'd like to know if he's really that good ?

About Hernanes (25M) and Dzeko (35-40M), regarding the interested teams and what announced their clubs/agents, I think you can add some millions to their price.

Well, if you want to be able to keep playing 4-3-3, just pick one between Simplicio and Hernanes (so if Simplicio is really good, he would be the smart choice as he seems to be free) and buy Krasic, and keep Ronaldinho ... This way, you have one more player in each area of the team (Pato for ST, Krasic for RW, Simplicio for CM). But it's only if you want to still play with the formation we used this year ...

And again, here is the problem of having no coach: we have no project on the pitch and so no indication of the needed players. Until a coach is chosen, we won't buy anyone ...

I wan`t Dinho out..not only because I know that he can`t replicate this season, but also because we need players who move. I know Pato is not and will never trace back...but we can allow ourselfs that luxury, but not 3 forwards not tracing back at all....in modern football thats suicide.

U have to look which teams play in CL final this year and u`ll understand my point.

I know this sounds crazy, bt massive changes aren't really neccesary. 3-4 new faces, preferably young, should do the trick. A new LB, who can slot in at CB when needed. One AM, one CM/DM, and a versatile attacker should be enough cos frankly the team isn't as bad as we like to think. Also easing in 2-3 Primavera players into the squad as replacement for the old guard wouldn't be such a bad idea. Bt as Geo pointed, it all depends on the coach that comes in.

even if this won't happen anytime soon, it would be interesting. Silvio tonight (after the meeting with Gayliani ) said Milan won't spend much thi summer either, but he could make one big purchase for a player that would give us 'a leap in quality', someone as Cristiano Ronaldo.

If this is true (and I want to believe it is), I think if he can bring us Dzeko, we could sell Huntelaar and buy Krasic for the same amount of money. That can be two major purchases for the future. That would be very nice, and besides that getting Aogo/Taiwo would be fantastic mercato considering what they have done during last few summers.

The other solution would be getting Krasic and Aogo, leaving Huntelaar. Instead getting some young Brazilians like Jucilei and Mario Fernandez that were mentioned before by Brasileiro.

Don't get me wrong, I've said I want Dinho to be sold if it's possible (to play again in the good old 4-3-1-2) since a while now, but what I said is that if you plan to play in 4-3-3 again, selling Ronaldinho is weird ...

Yes he can't run for 90 minutes, yes he doesn't move enough, but in this formation, he can do some good things. You plan to use Pato there to replace Ronnie ? I don't understand your point: you'll ask Pato to learn again another position for the second year in a row.

It's why everything has to be clear from the start: what kind of tactics do we want, and then, depending on the tactics, who are the players who are still needed and who can't be used in this project ?

If you say 4-3-3, despite all the negative effects on the team of using Ronaldinho, it would be better to keep him (because he can still deliver several good performances and selling him would mean buying someone else to replace him, pointless).
If you say 4-3-1-2, Ronaldinho isn't needed anymore, he can be sold and we'll need to buy a classical AM/Trequartista.

Can't wait to know who will be our next coach wand what he plans ...

EDIT: No way for Taiwo shegs !! Antonini is a better LB overall, and Ronaldinho is a better left winger ... and if we use 4-3-1-2 tactics, there will be no place for him !! So no need to buy a player for the bench !!

No my friend, don`t get me wrong...i put the players there loosely, I was not implying tactics ore schemes.

To me is important that we play like a team. When u have players who run a lot tactics tend to matter less.

I hope its someone that employs the 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 most times and uses 4-3-3 only when absolutely neccessary (and please no wingers, only supporting strikers). i know it won't be easy, but Dinho should be converted to the trequartista role, as it would give us more balance.

Some concerns about the line-up above:
1. Hernanes, Krasic, Dzeko are all non-EU right? Or one of them has EU-pass?
2. Like has been said, who is Casetti? We already have decent fullback, Antonini. We can't add another average fullback. Antonini is good but he is not great fullback. He does rely his ability on his spirit and motivation without sufficient skills for fullback.
3. How could be Simplicio plays over Pirlo? If he is that good and free, he should be already signed by a big club.

The line-up of fullback and midfield are decent, only Hernanes the creative player. But combined with Flamini make the midfield tend to be defensive, that's why I like the left side midfield played by Pirlo or by other offensive/creative player (with Pirlo play as playmaker behind two strikers). I also prefer 4-3-1-2 than 4-3-3 since the 4-3-1-2 is more balanced especially with the team we have and/or will have (from fullbacks, midfielders and forwards) and we can use Pato as (second) striker and not wing forward.

It's better for Milan if they sell him since his price should be still high, Milan need to change so much only because of him and there are better players for wing forward with Ronaldinho's price who still can run (either only for attacking duty like Pato's style or both defensive and offensive duties).
