Even goal.crap is posting a transfer campaign for us on a budget. Normally I stay pretty level-headed and I wasn't expecting much last year (because Real inflated prices) or this (World Cup/ManCity inflated prices), but when it becomes common knowledge that we are too poor to buy, oh brother.

I kind of thought it was just in our heads and we were expecting too much (sort of what B&G were saying). The reality is that after this previous era (Cups and Scudettos) we have been ushered into a new era of fiscal responsibility. We are playing by rules teams such as Man City, ManU, Barca or Real don't play by. Whether there massive amounts of debt are sustainable or not is a story for another day. For now, we have to be satisfied with letting our best go to succeed in mediocrity as others compete for the spoils.

By the way, I realize the article is a hypothetical of our transfer campaign, but I can totally see us selling Pato much in the same way we sold Kaka... to balance our books.

Well there should be money at least 60 million , it would make a difference and make us more competitive , but they want to run the club with no debt at all good idea but it is just mis-managing for a football where you cannot attract anyone half decent and end up losing money in the long run.

I agree , Its getting odd really no money no players maybe companys willing to invest and still he'll (Berlu) will say no if he doesn't/can't spend and isn't willing to let people help thats strange...Its not as if the players we are linked with are going to turn us into world beaters . If we sign say Dzeko and Hernanes Jucilei Krasic and oh Bonucci and Santon (and even that is 1000,000% impossible) sure we'd be better but would be as good as Barca or Inter ????.

Maybe thats Berlu's thinking I dunno the stories and thats it there just stories are becoming more and more depressing.

He'll be 31 in September and couldnt hold down a place with Liverpool who are awful. Not what we need IMO he will add nothing and will be a waste of money.
