Next year is going to be bad for both Inter and Milan if they don't quickly find their new coach. As a consequence, it could be a bad year for Italy as these teams are the logical "Italian favourites" in Europe (more than Roma, and I don't expect Samp to qualify, especially with their coach leaving too).

Oh, and while we're still waiting for our new coach (and the new project), well Roma has already got its first new player: Adriano signed a 3 year contract with Roma. Roma is the only club having their coach who is established, sure to stay and can serenely work to be ready for next season !!

To finish this post, I don't understand why there are so many news/rumours about our interest for some GK: damn, it's the last position we have to reinforce if we keep both Storari and Abbiatti !! Our defence and our midfield should be our main priorities for this summer ...

Apparently it's been leaked our transfer budget is around 30m. Before people start getting excited, this is for the first team and the youth sector, meaning it's more likely to be 20m for reinforcements for the main squad and then the rest used for the youth sector.

If Galliani can somehow ( or let someone who knows to run a club ) sell some of the players for some good money we can make that into 40-45mln just for mercato ( hunter, Seedorf, kala, oddo, marek, rino, abate...). 40-45mln is enough for CB, FB, great CM and a GK ( Mexes, ?, Jucilei, Alves )

And if Silvio says again he loves Milan so much and heart always wins in the end of the mercato, then let him buy Ibrahimovic and that is a proper mercato.

i read the article on milannews saying there is 20mil (first team) to spend this summer while goal has an article saying, if cappello goes to inter, they will spend 100mil on the transfer market. out management is really terrible. we have sold our best players over the years and are still unwilling to spend. im praying Putin invests in the club and things change. so far the news out of the milan camp this transfer market is making me sick.

It's what was to be expected. If I'm honest, it's even a little more than I had anticipated. However, as you say, with some smart moves on the market, we don't need Inter's 100m to be competitive.

Well, the news about the transfer budget tells me one thing: We're f*cked. Get ready for another year of being mauled by Inter in the league and not progressing further than the first knock-out round in the Champions League. In other words a "normal" season for Milan.

How a transfer budget like that makes good business sense is beyond me, to be honest. In the short term, sure, it's probably a good way to keep our books balanced, but in the long run heavier investment in the team would enable to us to go further in the Champions League, it would make Milan more attractive to sponsors, more people would come to the stadium, etc, which would also bring in more money.

I'm all for not spending more than you can afford, as we've seen clubs go under because of lack of restraint on the transfer market many times in the last decade, but Jesus... At some point Fininvest will have to ask themselves what the point of owning a club like Milan is, if it's not to win trophies. I think our minimum goal should be to be able to challenge for the league title every year.

Hopefully Berlu comes through on his "promise" to deliver a big name, although it wasn't exactly a promise. What he said was that if the opportunity to sign a big name should present itself, then he wouldn't hold back. There are plenty of opportunities out there, if you're willing to pay what players like that cost, and Berlu has already told us that he doesn't want to spend much on Milan right now.

Besides, last year he said that all the money from the Kaka sale would be spent on new players, which was a big stinking lie. Instead he almost sold Pirlo as well.

My bet is that not a single player of real quality will arrive, but we'll get a bunch of talented youth players who will sometimes perform really well and at other times play like headless chickens. It should be enough to ensure another year of Champions League participation, but that's about it.

Well, I would be happier if we buy a few good players then one "superstar". And by "superstar" i mean someone like Ibrahimovic. This team has so many players that need(ed) to be replaced that the potential signing of Ibrahimovic-like player wouldn't make a difference at all. But additions of, let's say, Marchetti, Otamendi, Krasic, Pedro Leon... would definitely make a difference.

With this kind of transfer budget we'll be able to afford one of those players, perhaps. Well, we might be able to get Marchetti. Even just one of the other three would cost more than our entire transfer budget.
