I did not think Torres for Spain or Atletico was ever close to World Class, however at Liverpool he proved me wrong. I agree with Tony that Dzeko at 23 is better than Torres at 23, but I agree with the others than Dzeko is not world class yet and I dont know if he will get there, but Torres is there right now (despite him being a very injury prone player -- which takes alot away from his 'world class'ness)

Actually, Torres will maybe be one of the biggest waste in the history of football ... the guy has it all (talent, physical skills, smartness on the pitch and in his moves), but he has also always been injury prone, and it becomes worse each year since he is in England.

Don't think he could be considered a bigger waste than Fabiano imo. Fabiano at the moment is just amazing, and has always been amazing, but his crazy character has always kept him down.

Anyways, really hope we end up getting Fabiano. He might be 29, but he's one of the best strikers in the world at the moment, and his contract expires next year. It's not that often an opportunity like this comes.

Speaking of opportunities, this has got to be one of the summers in recent years with most genuine top strikers available (At least in terms of name), due to the crazy spending and poor planning from certain clubs last season. Robinho and Ibrahimovic both want out more or less. Benzema and Adebayor are both surplus at their club more or less, while Higuain might become surplus. Fabiano's contract expires next season, and players like Dzeko wants to move on.

That's alot of opportunities to get strikers in my opinion, not sure we'd have this many options next season.

i have just listened to Storari interview after his juve transfer: he said that "knowing Milan situation now, it's been good my sale, because of the moment, for 4,5 mil.€" , and "i'm very happy to go to a big club such juve...."

Dzeko iz 7 centimetres taller, at 192cm. Much stronger too.

You can't possibly compare Spain's team with Bosnia, even before Euro, or ever.

I will tell you what guys get off the case about Bosnia.

Second, Dzeko is turning into a great player future Ibra. Now having said that, he is not worth 40 million. I m Bosnian, I wish he was worth 100 mil but he is not. I would pay max 25 for Dzeko. Because he is a risk, just like any other player. Look at Kaka, he was magic with us, Real paid 70 mil and now what he has never bin the same since.

Anyway in my eyes no players is worth more than 30 mil no matter how good he is, and no player should make more then 5 mil salary. I dont care who it is.

I just want to say that seeing what has been said on this forum, it seems pretty clear that because Dzeko is Bosnian that he becomes under rated.

If he was from any other country, we would be CRAZY not to get him.

People want Fabiano who's 29 (all most 30) while Dzeko is like 23 (?) and the top scorer of the Bundesliga. I don't think the fact that he's from Germany makes a difference. I think players from the Bundgesliga are the safest, Diego messing up in Juventus is not because of him. The entire Juve squad decided to go and be terrible.

Based on what I read here on this forum, I think it is quite the opposite to what you said. I think vast majority of people want Dzeko over Fabiano for the reasons you listed (age, skill set, potential and etc.). When people say that Dzeko is a risk, they don't mean that in terms of "he is a risky player, so let's not spend money on him" type of thing. What they are trying to say is that every player carries a certain level of risk, Dzeko is no exception to that rule.
