To summarize this summer so far,

I want to say that it's been very un-interesting for many of us to talk about papastathopoulos, astori, oduamendi, otamendi, matri, jucilei, eder, and guys of the like.. these minor improvements will not change anything. We will not go from 3rd place to 1st place. we will not make Quarterfinals, Semis, or Finals of Champions League... nothing will change.

Bottom Line is Berlusconi must SELLLLLL this club.

If guys like (Ibra, Honda, Dzeko, Luis Fabiano, Van der Wiel, Coentrao, Sergio Ramos, Lassana, Santon, Balotelli, Acquafresca, Giovinco) Don't come this year or next, this team is going no where.

Either we invest in a strong youth squad (italian based players) to produce a world dominating team in 2-5 years, a dynasty, or we buy 3-5 players i listed above.

Anything less will be a continual 3rd-6th Serie A finish.....

This is what the bottom line is. Formation is less important. Allegri should decide his formation, and then go get players and start building accordly.

For Berlusconi and Galliani to continue lying saying they've spent too much money when they've spent NOTHING and gained HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF EUROS from KAKA, and SHEVA.....there should be an article in every day in Gazzetta dello Sport about the lies of this idiot.....

End of story...

Totally disagree ...
Some of the players listed could be very good squad players, something Milan has lacked for at least 5-6 years. Even in our recent best years, we had only one first team, and nobody on the bench to make the difference if needed. It's still what happens nowadays, but we also have another problem, which is the decreasing level of our first team.

But it's two problems that have to be solved: one to win CL (the first team), and the other to be able to compete seriously in Serie A (squad players).

PS: Jucilei could and should be a starter in our team if he was to come in Milan ... He would be a big upgrade in midfield.

EDIT: If we can solve only one of these problems this summer, it would already be great. And seriously, who cares about bringing big stars in Milan ? We don't need divas, we need good players, stars or unkown, nobody (should) cares. Damn, while we all saw Milan win CL not so long ago, who remembers the taste of a Serie A title ? Personnally, I don't and I'd love to see our team win this championship again. It would be a first step to gain some credibility again towards the fans in Italy and everywhere else.

Gattuso to Wolfsburg is a possible move and a meeting should happen soon. If that's confirmed, it could also be a step forward in the Dzeko deal.

I wholeheartedly agree. Some of our best players of the past 10 years were relatively unknown when they were brought in. Pirlo was an Inter flop, there were serious doubts about whether Kaká was good enough to make it in the Serie A, Gattuso had spent most of his career at small clubs, etc. I won't reject any signing Milan makes until I have seen the player in action - such is my faith in our scouts.

Honestly, I think things could be looking a lot worse for us right now. We have two good goalkeepers, a SOLID central defense and some very good players up front. Huntelaar will probably leave, but even if he stays I won't be too disappointed. He is capable of far more than he was able to show last season.

Our main problem is our midfield. Seedorf and Gattuso are getting too old, and should not be part of our starting XI (the latter is probably leaving though, so... problem solved). Ambro was one of our best players last season, and Flamini has mainly suffered from his coaches at Milan not having faith in him. Reportedly Allegri wants to make him a central part of the team. Pirlo is inconsistent, but still capable of producing magic, and if Dinho performs like he did last season, we're not as dependent on his creativity as we were before anyway.

Now, the thing about Papastathopolous, who's almost certain to join us, is that he can play as a defensive midfielder too (so I understand). That means that in him we have a back-up for Ambro and Flamini, in addition to a good central defender. If Gattuso actually leaves, that will probably free up funds to sign an attacking midfielder like Honda. And IF that happens, we're not looking too bad for next season. Keep in mind that in early March this year we were only one point behind Inter, and so far it seems like we'll have a better squad next season.

I'm actually fairly optimistic about what Allegri's Milan can accomplish. We failed at competing for the title last season due to not having sufficient squad depth. Galliani is adressing that problem now, so why's everyone so upset? We don't need big names, we need a squad that's capable of winning the Serie A.

I'm not saying we need DIVA's.. I'm not saying we need IBRAHIMOVIC..

DZEKO, HONDA, Van der Wiel are not BIG NAMES,, but 3 guys who could seriously bring Milan back to their best....

Now add Rannochia, Papastathopoulos, and maybe another midfielder to replace Gattuso.... then we really have a squad...an impressive squad....

Elmago99: The names you wrote are not big names, but famous ones. That means we need more money than normal to get them.

We should get good & not so famous players now.

They are not very big names, but big enough to have some kind of high value ... Dzeko nowadays is a big name, Honda has progressively become a big name (exploding during the WC), Van der Wiel is already followed by many big clubs, ... you see, even if they're not the biggest names, they are already difficult to bring in Milan.

And if I said we don't need big names, it's because of what you said about the first players you listed. For example, because Jucilei is a less big name than Honda, Dzeko and co, it's not interesting to talk about him nor to have him in Milan ?

Those three names Elmago99 is talking about are players who can't be described as big names YET.

Dzeko and VDW have all the characteristics Milan need right now, and dont come across as divas.

And yes some of the best players we have had over the past 10 years have been good scouting i.e. Pirlo, Pato, Kaka, Thiago Silva, Gattuso, Dida just to name a few of the recent ones.

BUT some of the best players we have had we also BIG names who delivered i.e. Nesta, Inzaghi, Rui Costa, Shevchenko, Cafu.

Elmago99 is right, its all good and well taking on promising players who have escaped the hype, but they are more likely to succeed if they play alongside players who are being hyped like Dzeko. They are being hyped for a reason - because they are good and are applying themselves, something that Ronnie hasn't really done. Nobody here calls him a diva, when he is probably one of the biggest.

We need one signing like Dzeko anad a few shrewd signings. Amelia is one, Papa is two (I hope). A midefielder or two would be nice. Anything more is unrealistic.

Thats the key. Yes Milan should sign players like Jucilei, but no Milan shouldn;t focus only on players like Jucilei.

He may well come along and deliver, but he may well not. He is more likely to deliver, however, playing alongside players like Dzeko and Van der Weil.

So we need a balance, and if a lack of resources means less 'big names' than promising players then that is fine. But we need at least one player of the calibre of Dzeko. Don't forget we needed that last season, and got Hunterlaar. Two seasons without serious reinforcement will damage us badly.

That's like saying you are the tallest midget ever lived. Its nothing worth mentioning. Berlusconi is simply living in a fantasy land right now in which anything he wants comes true, but sooner or later the reality will strike him down hard. If he thinks the potential buyers aren't pouring out money to buy the club now, just wait for another couple of years.

But it's a sentence you can write for all kinds of players: from the worst ones to the best ones !!

The fact that there is some hype or not has nothing to do with the talent of a player and there are many examples ... By just taking the Italian NT, I can already give you the names of Pepe, Quagliarella and Iaquinta for example who were/have been/are hyped whereas they aren't the most talented players. There are the talented players who are hyped, and there are the players who have a good agent working for them.

Anyway, Dzeko would probably be very useful here, when you see the destructive duo he made with Grafite (who is just a decent player), the Pato-Dzeko duo could be something a lot more powerful. Anyway if Dzeko doesn't come to Milan, I think that our 4 strikers (so guessing that Pato and Huntelaar will be used in their real position) are already good enough ...

So like it was said in a previous post (devoted_dm), our midfield is the part of the team needing reinforcements, because if Sokratis comes, with T.Silva, Nesta, Sokratis and Yepes, we should be ok (I think we need one more player, maybe one of our Primavera defenders) in the centre of our defence.

Ranocchia man great center back, but I think inter will sign him.

Another thing, I Shakthar Donstsk has a lot of very good players on their books, but no one seems to be interested?
