SILVIO BERLUSCONI has spoken today ahead of the new season.

The Rossoneri President has intended today the annual meeting of the team after three years. Berlusconi landed in Milanello training in 14:15 Italy time and the fans were booing him.

Berlusconi joined CEO Adriano Galliani and new coach Massimiliano Allegri and signed some autographs, before entering into the AC Milan’s press room, where he held a press conference.


“I’m the President of the most successful club in the world.”

Berlusconi started with the same old motto: “I’m the President of the most successful club in the world. I have been the President of this club for 25 years, one who has won the most. The second behind me is Santiago Bernabeu who had a stadium named after him. I am proud to be the president of a team that is so important at international level. Like every team, playing in international competitions, Milan have also had costs and every year we have invested a large figure.

“We have to congratulate Inter for the victories obtained during the last season. I often heard from president Massimo Moratti. He invested 125 per cent of revenue. We have invested in the last seven years, 461 million euros, 100 million and 1 billion euros in my 25 years, so it is not true that there has been no funding for this team, mine is a love and I have always tried to give the maximum from the point of view.”

Berlusconi turned his intentions towards new coach Massimiliano Allegri and talked about the squad: “Today I am also here to have a coach who has done very well on the bench at Cagliari, who also won awards and for us had the right identikit to coach Milan. His face is that of a movie star but is also a good coach who has had brilliant results. Milan has one mission: win, win in all competitions in which it has committed itself to. And to win you must take the field with the right desire and right determination. We must take control of the game and therefore Milan always needs to attack-minded.

The victories come through the why we play game, in an entertaining way and Milan is the best-known team in the world for that. Players who take the field should set examples opponents as well as team-mates. Milan had the fewest number of bookings and sendings-off last season, which is important.

Ronaldinho has been linked with Flamengo and Galaxy, but the Italy PM has other plans for him, while he admitted the Rossoneri have said no to Real Madrid’s offer for Thiago Silva: “Ronaldinho? I have not spoken with him, but it is definitely a Rossoneri player and he will remain so. He will sign a new contract, is by far the best player I’ve ever seen, we have to find the best position to bring out the best in him. I hope to see Dinho in a more central role and one in which he can often get into shooting positions because he has goals in his blood too. I also see him as a support striker. Thiago Silva will also remain at Milan.”

Former Milan coach Leonardo used Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato as two wide men in 4-3-3, but Berlusconi finds it wrong: “Leo is a great person, but we had several differences on team selection, Pato was too sheltered for me out on the wing. I think we can do well, and I am convinced this team has a good squad, it is hard to find the better players on the market, then I continue to reiterate that we will focus on youth in the near future. No one will leave Milan, then if there are opportunities to bring in players we will.”

Asked why he didn’t appear much in the stadium last season, Berlusconi explains: “After the attack suffered in Milan, due to security reasons I was forced not to go to the stadium often. He added: “I also didn’t want to see Huntelaar so far from the area and I didn’t like that.”

For many the first time, Berlusconi did not rule out a Milan sale: “I have been president for 25 years, but if I met a group or a character who had passion and would be willing to spend what I and my family have spent these years, I would be listen to them. I haven’t found them.”
“I have great admiration for Rino as a man and a player”

Gennaro Gattuso has been linked with Milan exit, but Adriano Galliani, came after Berlusconi’s words, has underlined there is no offer in place for Gattuso. Silvio Berlusconi said he would like Milan to stay: “Gattuso? I have not been fully informed, but I have great admiration for Rino as a man and a player. I would be pleased if he stayed, but what we will not do is keep a player against his will if he wants to leave. At present, however, there is no negotiation so I guess he will remain.

AC Milan were said to collect money for Zlatan Ibrahimovic from FC Barcelona, but Berlusconi has doubts on how he could fit this team’s program: “Ibrahimovic? We have never spent a lot of money on all player, except for Ronaldinho. It’s true that Ibra was virtually ours in 2006, we had an agreement with him and Juventus, Then things changed in Italian football, but I had my doubts on how he would fit in when it came to the Rossoneri dressing room.”

So we probably won't be getting anyone else??

There are no doubts on Dzeko in Milan dressing room. Also about Bale, W.D. Wiel, Hernanes, Jucilei... sad...

MAYBE Milan will buy at least Dzeko and we can maybe enjoy his football IF he tourns out well... MAYBE Sokratis creates a name for himself... if not, another season with headings and me and flame talking **** in here.

Silvio is right, the team is perfect and full of champions. I can see that the incoming signings of Zaccardo(WC) and R. Carlos(WC) for FBs. Then Viera(WC) for backup midfield and someone like Dugarry(WC) for the 4th striker spot.
All four of them were World Cup Champions.....

I`m afraid that Real at the end will offer the unrefusable for T.Silva. And believe me when I say even if they offered Kaka +20 mil for him I`d be very very unhappy if he leaves.
