Meh...Linked with ben arfa for replacement for Dihno. Not really Milan material, could be another Quaresma. Much prefer Honda.

Quaresma showed something before going to Inter ... it's the difference with Ben Arfa who isn't even in this category !!

Are we sure Honda is Milan material? After a year in Venlo, a couple of good performances with CSKA and a more than decent World Cup? I am not saying he is not a good player, i just think it's a risky transfer and for some good money too. Still i wouldn't mind seeing him in red and black...

Yeah, if a club offers 10M, why not sell Dinho. 10M + 8M wage outs to get a 15M + 3M wage Honda is welcomed

Even Rivaldo was not Milan material. I don't think Honda could be the world class player at Milan (though there is possibility), but he has what Milan lack, movement, determination, strength, speed, longshoot, freekick, youth, and the position(s) he play is/are where we needed. So he could be at least a very useful player, same as Ambrosini, Antonini, IMO. |

Also, considering the lack of esteem most fans seem to have for Milan's veteran players, I wouldn't think it would take much to be "Milan material" these days. ![]()

Barcelona Would Sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic At The Right Price - Report
Swede linked with Italy and England... Sources from Barcelona have stated that they would be willing to sell Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic if the price was right, surging interest from Manchester City and Milan. Ibrahimovic himself, according to elmundodeportivo, has ruled out a move to Manchester City but "would not say no to joining the Rossoneri". Il Corriere dello Sport has mentioned that Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini has moved back in for the Swede in a bid to lure another Barcelona player to Eastlands after capturing Yaya Toure from the Catalan giants. However, with the likely arrival of Mario Balotelli from Inter, it could be unlikely that the Citizens would follow up their interest. If City do decide to continue their pursuit, they will not be shy in shelling out the millions needed to land Ibrahimovic, while Milan however may be forced to use Brazilian defender Thiago Silva as bait for Barcelona to part company with their striker; new coach Massimiliano Allegri believes Ronaldinho would really thrive working with a big 'No. 9' striker like Ibra. This would surely alert rivals Real Madrid, as Jose Mourinho is running out of candidates to bolster his backline. www.goal.com you wont get thiago silva ..... but ibra is hard to refuse at around 30 Mill get honda van der vaart and that'll allow us to rebuild our midfield ... |

I would have wanted him here. Actually, i've said this before too, i think he is exactly the type of player that our midfield lacks (yes i would want him here as a midfielder and not as a defender). A player that is aggressive both offensively and defensively. Not afraid to take on people and play vertical, cross...etc. We simply don't have midfielders like this right now. Our midfield is static, slow and without aggression offensively.
I don't know why we didn't try for this guy. He can be a back up as a LB as well on top of helping out in the midfield like I mentioned previously.(although i think that he isn't as convincing as a LB) We have a good relationship with Real and he wouldn't cost a lot. (probably about 7-8 mil) There is even talks that he can go on a loan with the option to buy. I really don't know what's going on at our club. The midfield is definitely the biggest problem IMO. It has been for a couple of years now. It's way too static. Way too horizontal in the play. No penetration players. Simply slow in almost every aspect. Having a player like Drenthe can change that. And I'm not saying that it has to be him and him only, but simply a player LIKE him. Yet the problem is that we are not even looking to change things in the midfield.

Milito has always been underrated (he was underrated, I thought it was over, but actually, despite his first excellent season during his first season in a big club, the guy seems to still be underrated) ... Our problem isn't tactical, our problem is about the quality of our players: we're unable to keep possession, what was our force for so many years ... and like our defense has been worse and worse every year (because back in the recent past, even without possession, we were able to be dominated without conceding all the time, nowadays, when a team dominates against us, we concede, as simple as that, we're unable to defend as a team), that gives our Milan, able to be good when the main players are in a good form, but not better than a mid-table team when these players are injured or unconfident. We need a new step in quality: - in attack, if Pato can explode to the highest level (now that he physically matured, I read that when he arrived, he was 1.71m, now he is 1.80m), we don't need anyone, even if we couldn't refuse Dzeko if he had to come as he would add some quality to an already good part of our team. - in midfield, we clearly need new players, no new DM, we need running players able to dribble and pass, CM or AM, we don't care, both would be needed. - in defense, I think we did some good moves, a new starting RB, around the age of 25-26, would be fantastic because our defense would be set for some years. So actually, without thinking about our tactics, because I have full confidence in the qualities of Allegri regarding tactics, we're just 1 player away from having again a good/very good first team, and we're 2-3 players away from having a good overall squad (first team + bench) ... It will probably be too much for this single summer mercato, it's why I think we'll be there in Serie A this season, without thinking or dreaming about a possible win (even if I actually always hope we will win this Scudetto again), but we could well be back in the top of Italy and probably Europe in 2011-2012 ...

Just think about something ... Even if I'm against T.Silva leaving, what about a swap of T.Silva with VdV and Kaka' ? Then, the possible (and probable if such a thing happened) sale of Ronaldinho could finance the purchase of a new CD ?
Just an idea after reading the article posted by Rossonero Fuego ... PS: It would be like if we had sent Kaka' on loan to Real Madrid for 65M ... ![]()

how good would it be if we bought Balotelli instead of Dzeko and Ibra
![]() I hope we don't sign Ben Arfa. Terribly over rated player. Oduamadi's 50% that we will eventually need to buy back has already boosted up...so we lose on this one. I would like us to try him out more this summer in friendlies to see if he can be used in the left flank. He looks better than Verdi after yesterdays game. Glad to know we have a player like Yepes finally. Selling Bonera, Kaladze, Janku, and Oddo and gaining ~6 million and promoting youngsters to take their place in their team can't be that much worse than what we already have, right? Geo: I think we sold Kaka knowing about his injury. We won't be getting him back. Not a bad thought, but I think we finally found a player like T.Silva, we shouldn't sell him for 2-3 years. He comes 2nd after Pato. Last edited by hitmannq8; 26-07-2010 at 11:54. |
