Andriy Shevchenko: Hero or Zero?
At first glance, the question seems like a no-brainer; the second all-time highest goal scorer of a team as prestigious as Milan must surely be a regarded as a legend. But that is not the case. At least not in all quarters. i've met some Milan fans who try to downplay the importance of Sheva in the history of Milan. who say he's just a traitor. Perhaps it's the manner of his leaving that's causing such animosity towards him. But nevertheless, he did some truly unforgettable things for Us. So i want to know how members of MM feel towards Sheva. He's my favourite player of all time, (though he plays like a 90-year-old nowadays!) so i can be forgiven for regarding him as a Milan legend. i just hope i'm not the only one.

I voted "he's a hero, a true legend" ...
He has all it needs to be a dramatic legend of Milan: he participated to all our victories (and was crucial in these victories), he also took part to our losses (the late goal against Liverpool, I mean, the one he missed when he would have scored it 999 times in 1000 chances, and in the same game, the missed penalty), and the emotional and ridiculous departure for Chelsea ... What arrived then has to be forgotten. A true legend.

I've exhausted myself writting down my thought and feeling about this issue in the past, so much that I couldn't (or wouldn't) even want to vote, argue, whatever.
There you go, I guess you can pretty much guess how I feel about him ![]()

Let's not get into who is silly and stuff.
But why this poll now? surely everybody agrees that his motives for leaving weren't the best, even if you put forth the family first argument he is not the first nor the last to live far from his family. I mean his family could live in London and him in Milan, I don't see a big problem there, especially for a millionaire. His achievements on the pitch are unquestioned in my mind, he was the definition of a big game player.

Without a doubt a legend of Milan imo. How he left and after that is unimportant, he's was a brilliant player for us and we've struggled to find someone to fill the void since.
I also think that he's the second best forward of his generation (behind Ronaldo). |

I am yet to witness a more complete striker. Whats more important you did not need to adapt a system to him(like Dinho, Hunter,Borriello) to score. I had my doubts weather He should considered a legend( knowing that some great name occupy that term) but after writing this post i`m sure he is a legend and we should consider him as one regardless of the ending. He made a mistake, it was obvious. Maybe he didnt find the way to say sorry but you could tell that he was hurt when he came back and we had the grace to accept him as one of ours.

Thrilled
I loved Sheva when he was a force with Milan and still do! I've moved on and follow football elsewhere now...not a regular here...but I still follow Milan's progress and miss the time when he was with the team. Thrilled to read the positive comments on this thread about him and what he meant to Milan. I still go to the Dynamo Kiev site and watch clips of his scoring and passing...I will die a Sheva fan!!!

Great player, but a Betrayer in ACM history. If he is a legend, then there must be some other word to define the likes of Maldini, Baresi & Rivera.

after all, performances on the pitch & contribution to our successes that count, a true legend indeed.

Sheva is not just a hero but a LEGEND. Same with Ricky.
Baresi and Maldini are Football & Milan gods and that's a different story altogether. |

Yes, it was disappointing the way that he left, but he'll always be a Milan hero.
My guess is, if you ask him what are his favorite memories from his career, many of them will be at Milan. I think he realized what a mistake he made leaving. Finally, despite everything that happened Milan made out big time financially with his sale, even though they squandered most of it. |
