I think so too. I think Boateng is the kind of player Pirlo was waiting for. We saw glimpses of an attacking Flamini last year, but Boateng can do that job much better. I'm expecting him to fill some of the spaces Borri usually carves out when he goes wide. It doesn't matter that he's not the best player in the world, what matters is that he has the qualities that the team is missing. An aggressive midfielder that can cover a lot of ground and offer some options in the final third (unlike even Gattuso in his prime). Boateng is the vice-Ambro, is what i'm saying, I guess, but I have a feeling he's going to quickly push him out of the starting lineup.

I absolutely second this

Movement, youth, and fitness are what we lack now. His passing is decent, better than both Flamini & Gattuso, IMO, and he brings more attacking option.

Boateng, I've never rated him highly as I said. But, better Boateng than nothing.

Still i believe he is a good player. And good for Milan.
As for the handball i don't rate him as a cheat. His post match comments were lame but he got punished with a last min penalty. It was more an act of desperation than cheating. I was playing pro football for 3 years and i can assure you 90% of the players would react the same way.

By the way, i think not all handballing are the same.
Henry's vs Ireland was a master cheat. Diego's goal in 86 was a cheat but his other goal in that game was not a cheat at all as 6 or 7 English retired footballers can assure you. Suarez didn't cheat at all.
The other guy lost the freaking penalty. If the ref hadn't seen the incident then, yes, it would have been cheating. He got a red card after all.

Also, i believe that if Suarez had done the same wearing the rossoneri in a CL semi-final vs let's say, Liverpool or Real Madrid i would declare him a hero. I am really all into pride and clean foreheads in football but count me out when it comes to pretentious fair play.

Sorry for being off topic in the Mercato thread, i think it's an interesting discussion but first we have to define what is Fair Play and what should be considered as such. As Jules would put it in Pulp Fiction, "Ethics In Football go a long way, man..."

Totally agree. If he had just let the ball cross the line in such an important moment for his country in a World Cup, I'm sure the whole nation would wonder what the h*** he was thinking about. And I would hope that a player for my country or favorite team would do just the same in an equal situation.

on milannews, we've been linked to Dos Santos in a deal which would get help from Genoa.

Ganso supposedly wants to go to a big Italian club, though Lyon are now linked.

Boateng should be a Milan player by the end of tomorrow.

The rumoured Kala-Grosso swap is gaining momentum.

Finally, I read on goal.com we're still trying to get Ibra on loan.

Am I being paranoid or it`s not the right time for Dinho to take vacations at this moment in the pre-season.
He has been seen cruising this Friday in Montenegro with Dida,Serginho and some other girls.

I know it s weekend and he can do whatever he wants,but he is clearly out of shape, why not give the extra energy to trying to get in shape rather than going on cruising for three days with friends who are retired from football.

So chances are we will get Ibrahimovic on loan, Gio dos Santos and Boeatang. Now just a right back. And again I think it is vital that we don't sell Huntelaar because we need a quality backup to the easily injured Pato. The only team I would get rid of Huntelaar for is Ajax if we get Van der Wiel. If Ganso wants a move to Italy it should definately be to us.

I'm afraid so

Allegri said Dinho's weight is 3 kilograms less than last season and just 1 kilogram more than that of his Barcelona heydays. In short, he's been working really hard so he deserves to relax a bit IMO.
