He's been loaned out to Serie B team Padova for the coming season. Probably nobody wanted to buy him or we didn't want to sell? Not sure. Wouldn't get much money for him anyway...

Agreed. The closest we came was in 2003-2004 when Sheva scored 24 goals, Tomasson 12, and Kaka added another 10. Pippo, who was phenomenal a year before, got injured most of the time.

Anyway what an exciting match between Young Boys v Spurs. Bale switched to left back after Essou-Ekotto got turned inside out again and again, yet managed to run down the left flank to and fro the whole 90 minutes, balancing exceptionally well both his offensive and defensive duties. Too bad we weren't linked to him anymore.

Why is anyone being linked with Bale? Simply average player.

Our problem in last few seasons is the lack of goals or assists from the mid.

We need Pirlo to play closer to opp goal, Merkel to get chances to shine and Seedorf/KPB to attempt alot of shots. The best we can hope from Ambro/Flamini/Rino/Strasser is about 5 goals in total. Hopefully Silva can score a few more, ditto Antonini, possibly Abate & Yepes/Nesta. Sokratis could also bag a few.

Thats more than a dream.
Pato can score 20
Borrielo can score 15
Huntelaar can score 10
Dinho won't reach 10
We NEED a attacking player who can score from range who is creative. We need Dzeko,Ibrhaminovic, Honda or Van der Vaart. And we need to get Boeatang for sure. And we need a fullback. Coentrao, Van der Wiel or Otamendi. We get those three players, we are set

little money is better than no money, even though, we will not use that for the mercato.

and news from milanello is that pato got injured in training to today. it seems that he has sprained his ankle again.

You're right. I don't think our problems last year were forwards, they were quite prolific, but the mids only have Seedorf (5), Pirlo (1), Ambro (1). Things could be different if our mids score some goals more.

pirlo only score 1. damn that horrible, even though he isnt a goal scorer. and i always taught ambro was good with his head. so i taught he would have deinately had more goals than that.

Obviously this won't happen and we often joke when posters say things like this, but honestly he's right. This is what we need.. a lineup that looks like this..

------------------Amelia----------------------
Van der Wiel--Nesta-T. Silva--Antonini----
-----KP.Boateng--Pirlo--Flamini------------
-----------------Honda---------------------
-------------Pato---Dzeko-----------------

THEN I'll say we can do damage.. Top 2 finish..maybe Win Scudetto..and Maybe Semis of CL or better...with THIS team.. anything less will be same result as last year.. 4th place.. trash in CL.... simple...

Think the stats really show how little movement into the box there really comes from the midfielders. That said two years ago Ambrosini scored 7 goals in the league which is very good, so it's probably more down to the way he was played.

I would love that lineup, but we will be lucky to get Honda and Dzeko. I am convinced we will get one of them. I would choose Van der Vaart or Honda over Dzeko because we need support in the midfield and not so much in the attack, because we don't need to prolific scorers. We have a Pato, a finisher who can dribble, and we have Huntelaar/Borrielo who provides good support and can score 10 goals + a season. In midfield last year, when playing only one striker too much pressure was put on one forward, and when it wasn't Pato we couldn't score. In that formation midfielders need to be able to score and ours can't unfortunately. Pirlo threatens from range, Ambrosini is good with the head but Flamini and Boaetang aren't real scorers. Thats why if we have a midfielder playing far up the pitch who can score 10-15 goals we could use it because the pressure on our strikers is enourmous. Especially Huntelaar and Borrielo who just can't score 25 goals a season. Pato can and thats why we don't need Dzeko. Two big goal scorers within 20 feet of eachother usually causes problems and we don't need egos. If we don't get an AM we are simply doomed. Because RONALDINHO can't play that posistion. PIRLO can't score for his life, he is a regista not a trequartista, and SEEDORF is our best option, even though he is 36. We need Van der Vaart or Honda. Seedorf is a worthy player to reserve those two. In midfield I believe we are set if we get Boeatang we will be set. Flamini Pirlo Boaetang pretty good and Ambro is a good sub. The defense I can live with as it is but I would much rather we get a fullback. Preferably a right back as we don't have a secured starter. Well sorry for the long post tell me what you think

Honda and Dzeko are both Non-EU how many times do we have to repeat that we only have one non-eu spot lol.

Anyway, some good and bad news:

“Genoa were following Boateng before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It was a good shop window for him, but one cannot rely on a World Cup alone,” President Preziosi told the Corriere dello Sport.

“Milan have an unusual situation, as they have many players on the last year of their contracts and are keeping an eye on the balance sheet.

“Instead we had more of an opportunity to move for Boateng. For now he is joining the Rossoneri on loan.

“Will he return to Genoa? He could do, but in a way I hope he doesn’t. If Milan buy him outright then it’ll mean we both saw this is a great player and Genoa will have made a healthy profit.”

bad news:
Milan will spend more to get him next year when we could have got him for this small amount.

good news:
Milan are keeping an eye on their balance sheet, and if Preziosi (who is close with Galliani) said that Milan have a few players on their final year of their contract, that's obviously what Galliani has told him. If Milan are capable of paying more for KPB next year, that means next year Milan will definitely be spending big on the market.
