Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi (22/08/10 - 21:00)

This Sunday will take place the friendly game against Juventus in San Siro.

The called players are:
Abbiati, Amelia, Roma
Antonini, Bonera, Papastathopoulos, Thiago Silva, Yepes
Abate, Ambrosini, Flamini, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Strasser
Borriello, Huntelaar, Inzaghi, Oduamadi, Ronaldinho

Pato is still out.
Nesta isn't called.
We will see if we can expect more than last year if these players miss a part of the season (last year, we struggled when both were injured). Anyway, it's not good news not to see them.

Boateng is also not called (too early I presume).
Merkel and Verdi aren't called in first team for this game, they've been called for a friendly cup with the Primavera if I'm not wrong.

We'll see if some of these players will be called for our last friendly game in Barcelona next Wednesday.

very interesting the called up defenders...
although Nesta & Zambro are not available, Allegri preferred to call up just 5 defenders, instead of including Kaladze, Jankulovski, Onyewu (who i'm not sure he is still alive) and even Oddo!
tbh, I would love to see all 4 of them leave and us getting one decent fullback instead + promoting a youngster (probably De Vito)...
Anyway, if Dinho is not playing as a CAM tomorrow then it would be clear that Allegri won't play him there.

Well, selling/letting leave Janku and Kaladze would allow us to make a bid for Bocchetti for example. That would be one more option for Allegri in defence.

But like you said, it's interesting to see this list of called players: Allegri probably sends messages to these players and to the management to show them that there is too much dead wood in our defence.

If they stay, it will also be a bad thing for Allegri because he will be "forced" to use these rejects during the season (if we want to be able to compete in Serie A and not to be out of CL after the first round) ...

Allegri has used his power very well, let the team trains hard then call the best, simple, but enough to give the message to the "champions" and his bosses.

The management know we have too much dead wood, they just don't care anymore otherwise we'd have sold rino, released pippo, and just paid janku, etc to leave.

The mess is their own making, but they blame the players who are honouring the contracts the club agreed with them irrespective of performances or appearances.

Our coach gave the reason: the guy isn't physically ready, at least compared to the other players. Just a matter of time, I'm sure the guy will play against Barcelona for example.

Its live on Setanta Ireland here thank god looking forward to it I must say.Thoughts of a boycott crosed my mind but it would be childish and disloyal and the red and black is like a drug for me.
