Guys, not sure I can bring myself to believe the Robinio rumours. To be honest, I'm note sure I want him at Milan.

He is a great player, but we need reinforcement in midfield and the fullback positions. We need a box to box midfielder to (gradually) take Seedorf's role.

Antonini has showed he is our strongest fullback, but we need backup for him.

If Papa isn't going to play at rightback, then we need someone for that role too.

On a side note: I was reading some Lazio forums(mostly in Italian) and they're in love with Hernanes. The guy is class(on and off the pitch) and if I'm not wrong, we have a good relationship with Lazio, right? One can dream... even for the next season
Well, for this season, we can't get him (you can't play for more than 2 clubs in the same year if I'm not wrong ?). Despite Hernanes, Lazio will surely live another bad season. So he could be available next year, who knows ?

And yes, Maxwell and Robinho would just be perfect ... I just imagine the headaches of Allegri to make the team !!

With Maxwell, our LB position is set, and Antonini can, why not, play on the right ... with that, our defence would just be perfect (2 attacking FB, good in defence, and defensive FBs as backups).

I'm just too excited by the game of tonight and all these rumours (few weeks/months earlier, we would have said "only rumours", but after the deal with Ibrahimovic, it seems like everything is possible) to make a clear judgement !!

IMO, a player like Robinho can't be refused, especially if the rumours of a 10M price are real ...

Guys is Maxwell any good? He left Inter where he wasn't getting picked regularly. He went to Barca and hasn't been picked regularly (or am I wrong?). Other than Raiola, why Maxwell? Why not just go for one of the many young Brazilians (that Brasileiro suggested) who will become 10 times better than Maxwell.

To an extent, Sacchi had a point. Yes, our mercato has been better this season, but we do sometimes lack imagination.

I'm not convinced. Surely, players should be chosen based on how well they would compliment the squad, not how cheap we are getting them.

He sounds like a low priced, but expensive luxury, when we still need to reinforce other areas.

My god Berlusconi gives us another quote like that and now we gotta live on the edge...everytime he says something its something special. Damn that means I am going to be stuck to the computer all of tomorrow. Problem is I will spend entire August 31 on the plane going to Montreal from Kuwait so all I will be thinking on the plane is the transfers.

Maxwell is IMO one of the most underrated players nowadays ...

In Inter, he was a starter until Mourinho decided to give time to Santon. It seems like the relations between Maxwell and Mourinho weren't the best, and it's why he was sold (there were even rumours at that time that he would join us). In Barcelona, he was used during the injury of Abidal. I don't know why, but Guardiola prefers Abidal who is simply a bad player IMO. Maxwell is twice the player Abidal is. But a lot of the choices of Guardiola look weird to me.

About Robinho, it's just that for 10M, you can have a WC player who is needed (even if it's not the most needed, but I think our midfield will be refreshed next year) as like some stated, we have nobody able to replace Ronaldinho or Pato (Robinho can play in these both positions, even if I would prefer him as a second striker). With potentially Paloschi coming back next year (we tend to forget him with such a mercato), our attack would just be perfect.

With Maxwell and Robinho, we solve most of our problems in defence and in attack. The only needed area to improve would be the midfield.

Okay, maybe I won't be dissapointed if Maxwell comes. Just a little concerned that he isn't favoured by two coaches that have won the last two editions of the champions league.

Im still not convinced on Robinio...unless Ronaldhinio is planning on leaving (I'm not sure he still is)

All in del Milan. All in Milan. Ibra is coming after the Brazilian Robinho. Prime Minister Berlusconi has been unleashed on the market and Ibrahimovic may not be the last shot. The leadership wants to create a "great Milan and Robinho also blocked. I soldi per l'ex Real Madrid arrivano dalla cessione del napoletano Marco Borriello che pochi minuti fa, ha dichiarato: "Forse vado via. La Juve? Non lo escludo, ne parlerò domani con il mio procuratore". The money for the former Real Madrid come from the sale of the Naples Marco Borriello few minutes ago, said: "Maybe I'm leaving. Juve? Not rule it out, I'll talk tomorrow with my agent." Il Milan aveva contattato la Juve diversi giorni fa quando Galliani aveva deciso di andare su Ibrahimovic. AC Milan Juventus had contacted several days ago when Galliani had decided to go to Ibrahimovic. Le ultime ore di mercato del Milan si preannunciano più calde del previsto. The last hours of the Milan market will herald warmer than expected.

wow..tough decision...i'm sorry but after today's performance it's possible Robinho is on the bench...and I can tell you right now he does NOT want to be on the bench...

Van der Wiel is too expensive and Maxwell could be a descent option. I'd certainly prefer a RB or LB over a another attacker at this point. Only problem may be if Borriello leaves, then we suddenly lost 2 strikers.

Complicated scenario.

thanks for that post Duco mate

it seems as though both huntelaar and borriello are on the way out.
Huntelaar to schalke/tottenham for around 12-14 million & Borriello to Juve not sure of that price but either way as long as robinho comes in were all good to go upfront

btw is jankulovski sticking around guys ? kaladze to genoa but wb janku

Huntelaar has played his last game for Milan.

Boriello will ONLY leave if Robinio comes, and we won't be lacking that many centre forwards as it appears. If Zlatan is injured in comes Pippo, if Pippo is injured then Pato pushed forward with Ronnie and Robinio behind.

Id still prefer Milan to sign a rock of a fullback, nobody comes to mind...

Geo, you've said almost I wanted to say

I remember 6, 7 years ago when we have 4 of the best strikers at the same time: Sheva, Pippo, Giladinho & Vieri and our formations were 4-3-1-2 & 4-3-2-1.

You know what I mean: 4 best strikers competed for just 1 1/2 places, and noone seemed too unhappy.

Now, we have 3 best strikers for 3 places with no good sub. Borri/Pippo for Ibra, Odu/Prince for Pato and none for Dinho. Simply worriable. And of course Dinho-Ibra-Pato can't play together every match.

If Robinho comes, he knows that if any of the 3 not fit, he can play, the chance is great, and the competition is just perfect. He competes with only 1/3 player, not even 1 player

Any world class player is afraid of competition? A good team need competition at every position.

In the Champion League final, if any of the 3 get injured or lose form, we are still relieved, and you know, we could really talk about the CL final.

Our defense needs improvement, but it is quite solid already and if the attack is so strong, it can keep the spirit very high and lessen the job for the defense. Simply said: if we score 3 goals, it is OK to concede 2 goals, but I think it is not easy to score against Milan now, we have clear idea how to defend and the mids could help.

Let's welcome Robinho
