We're surely friendly and being generous to Juve. Borriello would improve their attack slightly IMO. Maybe with Krasic and Pepe in both wings he could do something that Amauri (a slightly worse version of Borriello) cannot do.

It would depend on matchups. The best lineup against Real Madrid may not be the best lineup against Manchester United. And I'm not speaking of a blind rotation. If Robinho wasn't in quite as good form as the others, he could play more against lesser clubs rather than the big matchups, or it could be one of the others. Allegri would just have to look at every combination game by game and do his best to balance out the playing time to keep everyone happy. Besides, at some point in every game one of those guys will come off and whichever player is on the bench can get 20 or 30 minutes.

People keep talking about Seedorf replacements:

Robinio, Boateng, Van Der vaart, Honda etc

None of these guys can play in Seedorf's position. The reason why Seedorf was so good was because he had the same creativity as these guys, but he also had the tactical understanding, willingness to defend and strength.

These guys are all playmakers/ wingers. With the front 3 that are never going to defend, we need players who will help the fullbacks. Schneider is a bit of a pitbull and works hard for the team, but hes gone. Hernanes seemed like a box to box player, but hes gone. Asamoah Gyan is another, but we aren't even linked. Maybe Ganso at Christmas - he might be cheaper now he is injured, or is he too attacking too??

Agree. The type of this player is extremely hard to find. Many players have only one or two type of abilities Seedorf had in his old time.

Then, actually, this team is too much unbalanced IMO.

I think Robinho coming wouldn't change our formation and that would still look like that:

Abbiati
Antonini - Nesta - T.Silva - Maxwell
Flamini - Pirlo - Ambro
------------------------ Ronaldinho
----- Pato ------------------------
-------------- Ibra ---------------

Robinho would play instead of Ronaldinho, Pato or Ibrahimovic depending on who is the most tired, who is injured or who doesn't play well.

In defence, when Maxwell goes forward, you ask to the 3 others to stay behind, if it's the turn of Antonini, same with the 3 others, and sometimes, you can send T.Silva too with one of the fullbacks. This way, you always have 2 defenders behind, 3 in most cases.

And if you ask me, the subs for each position would be:
Abb -> Amelia
Antonini -> Bonera (good game yesterday)/Zambro/Sokratis
Nesta -> Sokratis
T.Silva -> Yepes
Maxwell -> Antonini/Zambro
Flamini -> Gattuso/Boateng
Pirlo -> Seedorf
Ambro -> Boateng/Seedorf
Ronaldinho -> Robinho
Pato -> Robinho/Odu
Ibra -> Inzaghi/Robinho/Pato

Add Merkel and Strasser if we have a big injury crisis, and the team is ready for a long seasons with titles at the end ...

Anyway, no way Robinho can play in midfield at the place of Seedorf like yesterday !!

You make a sound case, my friend. I'll happily conceed to your points, bar two points. I just because we have next to the best attack in the world, doesn't mean our defence won't be caught out. I would put Nini on the left and Papa on the right, but thats just my opinion. With Thiago running up all the time, I'd feel a lot safer if we didn't only have Nesta in the back, Godlike as he is or not. Of course, if we change our formation and play total football, then thats an entirely different proposition....

I also don't feel Robinho should be stuck on the bench. I'd rather have Pato as an ACM or SS with Ibra than waste the chance to put Robinho on the wing and watch the magic show. The only thing we would need would be a class Makelele-ish midfielder to play in front of defence and distribute (like he did in his peak for Chelsea and Madrid).

Abbiati
Papa/Bonera - Nesta - T.Silva - Antonini
X (Missing Link)
Robinho---------Pirlo/Seedorf------ Ronaldinho
---------- Pato -------------------
-------------- Ibra ---------------

Seriously, one more tough defensive distributer, and I think we could play just about any formation invented.

Like someone mentioned earlier, just talking about having headaches for all these new possibilities in tactics, formations and player-use is making me happy

That's too much to ask honestly. The good ones outside there who could cover 5 players in front of him who can't defend? Only Mascherano and Essien, both are unavailable.

Need I remind you, so too was Ibra up until like a week ago.

Well... for us anyway...... what a difference a week makes.

He's also the agent of Robinho ?!
Damn, the guy is going to manage to force all the clubs with his players to sell them ?!

Anyway, I remember reading Moggi saying that Raoila, in his opinion, is the best agent on earth, and that saying he is an agent is even an insult. He also said that if he was still in charge of Juventus, he would do everything to be in good relation with Raoila and build with him a dream team.

Maybe it is an advice that Moggi gave to Berlu ? Because if Maxwell and Robinho come, that will mean we got 3 of the players of Raoila ... and they're all interesting/great players.

Good example even his defensive or strength is not matched (even pretty far) with Seedorf time but I agree Basti could play well in Seedorf position (but he should be told that he has defensive duty too (so that he doesn't play like he showed before he played in WC 2010) compared to his position in Germany NT that his major task is about 50% creating/managing play from defense (offensive/creative task) and 50% defensive one.

The problem I see with this kind of formation is that despite the magicness possibly happening with all of them, we also put all our eggs at the same place (on the pitch) and have no more solution on the bench if that doesn't work in some games ... Also, if these guys play well all together, we will mainly work on this formation, and the problem is that there will be no replacement for most of the attacking players. The season, especially when you're in the race for titles, is long, and like I expect our team to win at least Serie A this year, I think sending all our (potential) stars on the pitch is a mistake. One injury and we're dead, we would have to change everything again, while by letting one of the guys on the bench, one injury wouldn't be a problem as we would have a proper and as good replacement coming from the bench.

With some good rotation, we could have a fresh team for the whole season in attack.

About the defence, like I said, it's all about the orders of Allegri. Even if we play with Maxwell and Antonini together (both like to go forward), these guys are not stupid I think, they have a brain and can use it, not like Abate (oups, sorry, I like to say he has no brain ), and as a consequence, if Maxwell for example goes forward, I don't think Antonini will be stupid enough to go also forward and let Nesta alone for example if T.Silva pushed forward at the same time. Actually, yesterday, it was obvious that Allegri asked to Antonini to keep his position behind in second half for example, and he did it well. We almost didn't see him at all during this second half, there was no need to push, he didn't push.

And regarding your last sentence (the bold one), yes, seriously, that's a pleasure to talk about how to use at best our players, who to bench or not, etc ... I just remember 1 week and a half ago, the only discussions we could have was either Sokratis or Bonera or Abate or Oddo on the right of our defence, and can Ronaldinho play more central.

PS: It's sad that we had to wait for a so long time these new players (well, I'm already counting Robinho and Maxwell in ), because if it had happened earlier this summer, it would maybe have launched a new passion in San Siro with a full stadium for at least the first games of the season ...

If the Robinho thing goes through as well, I hope everyone will remember what I've been saying for years -- late in the transfer period is the best time to deal. It's when bargains become available. No use putting a gun to your mouth because the transfers aren't done by the end of June.

Don't know why u guys would rather have Pippo coming off the bench than someone like Borreillo. If that is based on the game against Lecce, then yes. But if you based their performance based on last year, why would you not want Borreillo coming off the bench. He is the only Tank be aide Ibra for Milan. What if Ibra gets hurt, putting Patoas CF is good when!Klan plays against attacking side, but what about those defensive side? Even with Robinho and Dinho, and Pirlo, Milan can do what Barcelona and Spain do all the time by playing passing the ball around and beat opponent by low pass, as Milan just don't have the midfield like them. Borreillois need in Milan.

I really like Borriello and would be very sad to see him go. Also, I am not comfortable with just having Ibra and Inzaghi as the only two out-and-out strikers in our squad. Sure we could play R80-Pato-Robinho up front if Ibra is out but I really would like to hold on to one of Hunter or Borriello if I could. Unless of course there is a youth team player like Beretta that can make the step up in times of need.

Only benefits I can see of signing Robinho and selling both Huntelaar and Borriello would be a) Money and b) room for Paloschi to come back to Milan next summer.

You know who else he manages that happens to be a Milan fan? In a couple of years, we could work on getting Mario Balotelli! After all ex-Interisti do make very good Milan legends....LOL.
