Summer Mercato 2010

Yes, Robinho can play in Pato and Dinho role, but so can Verdi, Merkel and even Abate. So can Ibra or Borreillo. Point I am trying to make is that, even if one of Dinho and Pato got injured, Ibra can fill in those two roles and have Borreillo plays as CF, or even vice versa. But if Ibra is out, both Pato and Pippo cannot fill in the CF role. I already explained Borri is the tank off the bench, not going to get into that again.

I would not say Borreillo thinks he is too good to be a bench player, rather I think he wants first team football to increase his chance to play for IT. Credits to him for that.

So (assuming Hunter and Borriello are going) who are the players we want to be rid of:

Oddo - Yes
Kaladze - Hell Yes
Janku - Do we really want this, as he is currently our only alternative to Antonini??
Oneyewu - Can't hurt, he is free, we migh even sell him next summer if he makes some cameos
Zambrotta - I would like to see him gone, but we don't have that many fullbacks
Bonera - Can't stand him, played well yesterday, still can't stand him. Has his uses. Can't we trade him for Poli?

Honestly, I know a lot of u love Gattuso and all, but I really think he needs to take a step back for the greater good of Milan. He should be a bench player, the closer so to speak when Milan is up by a goal and he comes in and destroy the other team midfields....Bit not starter, as Flamini and Bpatengg/Ambro should start over him.
As for Slowdorf, he is another sub, that way even when he plays like crap-almost allmthe time, except for his period every month, the damage will be minimum.

I think Zambro is good off the bench, since he can play both flanks.

It's like what the commentator (a juventino) said yesterday, Juve are spending so much money buying good to very good players, none are excellent. I believe Juve's downfall is the appointment of Marotta and Del Neri, they are at best at a team that aims for the Champs League.

Martinez, Pepe, Quagliarella, Krasic are all good players and that's about it. They spent 14m + 8m + 8m + 15m = 45m on very average players and Borriello is just the same level as the same. These players would be good for Sampdoria not Juventus, I feel very sorry and bad for the Juventinos, I really wanted them to challenge at the top but that will not happen soon. I bet they won't qualify to the CL this year with that team unless they change their stupid and ridiculous 4-4-2 (they already sold Diego, but at least they have Aquilani).

Getting rid of Borriello IS NOT wrong. After all he is the one who yesterday said he is in his prime and has to consider his future. I say let him go, he never was going to win the Capocanniero or Golden Ball. And most of you are wrong when you say we have 2 CF's, we have Zlatan , Inzaghi, and one more player that could even be better than those 2: PATO. If Robinho comes he can play as a Trequartista in a natural 4-3-1-2, he can play as a second striker in that formation too, he can also play on either wing in a 4-3-3. He CAN NOT replace one of the midfield 3. So many different options with Robinho!

And why is it that everyone here is so sure Robinho can't accept the bench? He can and he will. He is NOT a trouble maker as people say, I have followed this kid since his Santos days and was one of his biggest fans always (buying him in every FM game ). Real Madrid is a joke of club that are even turning against KAKA right now, so don't believe what they say about Robinho. With him here we will have a phenomenal attack and I just wish we renew Ronaldinho's contract for 1 or 2 more years.

Also, Robinho is DESPERATE to leave City, and theres less than 2 days for the mercato left. IMO, just like how he rushed his Real -> Man City move, he will do the same but this time he will accept much lower wages because he is moving to a better club that matches his ambition, and has the perfect environment for him. He is the one who should take a sacrifice to come here. Don't be surprised if he doesn't get very high wages and a very low transfer fee cause even City are desperate to sell their only valuable asset after a ridiculous spree of spending.

I also am VERY glad we are on Raiola's good side. I remember the first week of the mercato we had a meeting with him and everyone thought we talked about Ibra or Balotelli, but Galliani said we were talking about a very interesting young man: Rodrigo Ely (another promising Brazilian CB in our ranks). My only wish is we stay on Raiola's good side and he will always give us first option on his players, and I am hopeful that another one of my favourite players can join us in Milan in a few years: Super Mario.

Another thing, I say we should not criticize our management because it is obvious that they know what they are doing. If they decide to go for Robinho or ignore him, I will respect their decision. They aren't on the top of the world by coincidence.

However I do agree signing Honda has one million more advantages than disadvantages. He CAN be a good Seedorf replacement. The biggest advantage is off the field: marketing, something many of you seem to not realize. We still have that Non-EU spot open and if we get Robinho I think we are set for next year so we can use that spot for Honda just simply as an investment not a reinforcement.


- Borriello update: Marotta is in Via Turati now. However there is no agreement yet. I say we should accept him for a liquidation price, let's just get him out of here for any price to get our dream front-line.
- Maxwell is being linked - however I remember when Inter brought him to Italy they first sent him to another club like Chievo because he was Non-EU. How is that he now has a Dutch passport? Can someone confirm this?
- Coates seems close too, he has an Italian passport. Non-EU spot still open.

People can we stop disrespecting Seedorf. It is just getting boring now. Every single time someone calls him Slowdorf in the chat he either scores or makes a goal. His experience and composure are invaluable.

And if he is constantly picked by Carlo, Leo, Allegri, its because he works hard in training and competes for his position. Maybe we should criticise the so called fast and young players that can't knock him out of his spot.

'Slowdorf' has consistently been one of our better players and is one of the reasons people like Pirlo and Ronaldinio get the freedom and plaudits they do.

So....can we start showing a TRUE MILAN LEGEND a little more respect please?

I feel like Inzaghi has been given new life by Allegri, against Lecce he was so active, I remember that one shot that was like a canon that missed the post just barely. But, you can argue that Lecce was a 4-0, his goal against Barca was magical. I think Allegri made a choice, Inzaghi is his backup to Ibra and Pato is capable of playing CF, and he needs subs for his wingers.

I just remember long periods of time last year where we forced Huntelaar to play as a SS or RWF, and clearly we want to preserve Pato and I don't see how getting Robinho would do anything, but help us preserve Pato and Ronaldinho, as well as provide us a great creative offensive option from the bench.

As far as our midfield goes, I'm not so sure I would want a midfielder. Allegri has big plans for Flamini and Boateng and those are two young and hungry players. Plus, I think there are human beings in this squad, and Gattuso and Ambro must be respected. Part of being a great manager is understanding these personal relationships and understanding what will get the best out of the team. Gattuso is clearly one of those locker room forces, so I can understand why getting a midfielder may not be the biggest priority.

Don't get me wrong, I would love seeing Robinho playing for Milan, and I actually think, he will be just like Tvez at ManU, someone who will come off the bench and make impact. I remembered two yrs ago, whenever ManU is down, they will get Tevez to come in and played with four attacker- Rooney, CRonaldo, Berba and Tevez, great entertainment and They often score right away. Having said that, still wish Borreillo can stay, but do respect him about wanting first team football.

just a taught, if maxwell doesnt work out i think we should go for drenthe, i know he isnt the strongest defender, but he is very strong going forward, and he is a LB, would be a reaaly good, and young back up for antonini, and can also back up the LM or LW incase of injury or something. and he should be going cheap.
