The problem is that we don't have Silva's caliber CB. If we have someone who not far below Silva's level, we can change Silva's position, like we had with Stam which we moved Maldini back to his left fullback position.

Guys, there's no need to discuss formation. It's already set as 4-3-3 and Allegri already set players for all positions. Bonera or Sokratis are on the right, Antonini or Zambrotta on the left and that's it.

Robinho will be a bench player and will replace any of Ronny/Ibra/Pato when needed. Pato can play in center. Don't even dream that Allegri will field all 4 of them, because that won't happen.

Robinho is bought to step in when Pato is injured (happened frequently during the last two season) or Ronaldinho is tired or unmotivated (happens sometimes). Ronaldinho's motivation is a big question mark and it's too be seen what will happen when new deal is discussed in January.

Would you really call it a 4-3-3?

It really is 3 central players but Pato is allowed to drift to the right and Ronaldinho to the left.

I'm surprised there's so little mention of Poli being rumoured with us again today. I think someone mentioned it this morning, but since very little was said. With Samp acknowledging our interest for him, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Milan shirt in the future.

lmao, as a hindu myself I found it rather odd, but hilarious to see Hinduism brought up in a football thread. Was Brasileiro really referring the hindu tradition when he mentioned sacred cow or was it some other reference lol?

We can talk about the formation but won't know for certain for a few weeks.Allegri must be like a fat kid in a cake shop (sorry to all fat kids) from Cagliari to managing Pirlo Nesta Silva Pato Dinho Pippo and Signing Binho (is that what we are calling him ??) and Ibra.I think he will want to play beautiful attacking football nice and measured but not necessarily real fast.

I've been trying to get some inside updates on this guy for days. From what I read, he is a really nice talent, already on the verge of being called up for the Uruaguay national team. I even read that Montelongo was only signed to smooth the way between us and his agent to get us Coates. Anyway, I hope he does come in January or anywhere in the near future.

I'd tend to agree with that, but is it your opinion or what you read from some quote ? I'd be curious to know what thinks Allegri about his new attack actually, it's why I ask you ...

About Ronaldinho, Galliani said after the game against Barcelona or Lecce, don't remember, that with such performances, his contract must be extended. That makes me curious (again) about what will happen to our Fantastic Four (the real one, not Janku-Oddo-Dida-Kala) at the end of the season ...

The general consensus on this forum is that we won't keep and won't be able to keep the 4 guys together for more than one season, so if the contract of Ronaldinho is extended and if this idea is true, that will mean we will have the right to be afraid for Pato ...

Haha Im not a fan of "Binho" But Binho and Dinho would make a good chant

I`m surprised how nobody has acknowledged the physical shape of our players..We we playing like it was the ending of the season, not the first game.It seemed like everybody had reached 100% fitness already, which has not been the case for years now, since Carlo intensionally started slow and gained momentum as he season was coming to and end.

I watched a lot of games lately, Bayern,Real(especially)Juve,Inter,Wolfsburg,Liverpool...they all looked out of shaped which is normal for this stage of the season, US on the other hand we were flying around the pitch like nothing. and I`m really glad. The only team that has matched our fitness for now is Chelsea(which is odd since Carlo is in charge there!!!!)

Yeah, so have I. Looks a good player, kind of reminds me of Kjaer.

Yep, no disrespect towards Hindu tradition here, but in Brazil it's used a lot!! Impossible to know who started it, but I hear it since I started to watch the game as a kid. To be honest, not only in sports, it's used everywhere( politics, job...)

In Brazil you hear a lot the phrase "A locker room full of sacred cows" when the subject is a team full of veterans with a sort of power inside the Club. A Raul(as Real Madrid player) type. it's just for the fact no one can "touch them" in the Club... catch it?? Or "medallion player", too. But thats has a more pejorative aspect... It's that player with a Big name and low production.

One more time, and I know you understood, there's no disrespect towards Hindu tradition here, just that we(Brazilians) loves this type of outside reference in football and life

Nice catch... But I worked in this area for years(physical preparation) and I just can't believe it's the case. If it's true, we are screwed!!

In any physical preparation, you work to your team(or individual athlete) to reach 100% at the "climax" of the competition. What could be the climax for a athlete or a team is up to them. But a athlete can't sustain his high level of fitness several months. The body can't hold it and fatigues, injures star to pop...

I believe it was just the atmosphere, confidence, first game at home, Ibra presentation and a poor team that gave a impression of extra gear for the players... Well, I hope so.

Brasileiro the same happens here , but we use it as a way to say who do you think you are the sacred cow you can't be touced , if you get me .I understand what you mean and Im positive the guy's no you mean no disrespect....we are a family here we b1tch we moan we argue just like a proper family...we'll fight each other but if someone fights one of us they have to fight all of us....

Do we really need to replace Pirlo? I mean, do we have to find a player with his qualities to replace him in the team? I think we should just find a new formation that doesn't need a deep lying playmaker and avoid the situation altogether.

4231, with Flamini and KPB behind our Fantastic Four, or eventually once Ronaldinho leaves, we can get an attacking midfielder that can defend as well, maybe Schweinsteiger or a similar sort of player.
