How Should the Team Look Like?
Don Silvio
has sure given us (fans) something to cheer about this summer and the coach a selection headache . Since, apparently, Mr Galliani visits MM, it's only fair that we should have a poll to decide how the team plays. Who knows, maybe our suggestions might just help ease the coach's troubles .Should we stick with the 4-3-3 and let 'Binho come from the bench / fight for his spot on the team? or the 4-2-3-1 where Pirlo drops to the bench to make way for two destroyers? should we use a 4-4-2 with B70 and R90 on the flanks, and pato Zlatan in attack? Or, since we've got Sokratis (a decent defender) and some not-so-decent fullbacks, should we discard the the back four ( 2 CB's and 2 FB's) idea for 3 CB's and go with an unorthordox 3-2-3-2 with the team filing out something like this: Sokratis - Nesta - Thiago Seedorf/KPB/Flamini - Ambrosini 'binho - Pirlo - 'dinho Z11 - P7 (Might not really work against the 's and Barca's of this world, but against small provincial teams........). what d'u guys think?

i think robinho should fight for his spot on the team. Besides we can't throw 4 attackers on against a good offensive team (at least not from the beginning), but when we're a couple of goals up or faced with a really stubborn defense, why not unleash the fantastic 4?

our Big-4 should be rotated. That way we can keep everybody fresh. Robinho-Pato-Dinho can all play on the wing while Ibra and Pato can play in the middle.
If ever needed we can play them all 4 if we really have to score. Add to that a midfield of Flamini-Pirlo-Boateng/Max, wich is defensively solid! My god, I cant wait till our next game!! EDIT: I completely forgot Seedorf, I want him to play like he did last sunday, in a midfield with Pirlo and Max/Ambrosini. Offcourse he should be rotated.

I can't help but praising the way transfers went, absolutely smart. I would be a tenth happy if Berlus spent 100M to buy Ibra + Robinho.
The way Milan keep transfer policy also means the general system will be respected. We don't buy new player to change the system but to make it work better and more flexible. Yes, more flexible. So I think the core of Milan is still lying on the solid CBs pair & GK for defense, the creativity of Pirlo & Dinho with the protection of DMs. From 2002, Milan have been well know for the ability of fielding more than 1 playmaker in the team and at the same time, having the world best CBs & GK to protect the result and the world class DMs to protect the playmakers. In short, the main forces, the core: GK, CBs, DMs & playmakers. We won trophies thanks to them, even when the fullbacks & forwards were normal. In 2003, the fullbacks: Helveg & Kaladze were only good at defend. In 2004, the fullbacks: Cafu was not the Roma's Cafu, Serghinho injured a lot, Helveg out & Kala switched to CB. In 2007, the forwards: Ronaldo couldn't play in CL when only joined last part of Serie A, Gila was a disapointment, Pippo had only some flashes, and I find it hard to remember Oliveira's name. The fullbacks: Oddo was solid but he didn't help the attack much, Janku's defense was erratic and Maldini or Kalazde playing LB was of course not the right decision. Fullbacks & Forwards are important but we won without them being good consistent, while the core was magnificent. Last season, there were moments when we thought we could take the world without injury, but the injuries did happen. The core was weakened with Nesta's injury & the tireness of Ambro (when Rino & Flamini's performants were not good enough). IMO, this season is building around: Abbiati/Amelia, Nesta & Silva, Pirlo & Dinho, Ambro & Flamini. Not around the fancy names of Pato, Binho, Ibra or Boateng, they are not the core, though they are important. The core + world class forwards is the receipt of winning for Milan this season. For the core: Sokratis & Yepes are CBs subtitude, Seedorf for Pirlo, Boateng & Rino for DMs, Ibra or Binho for Dinho. If Dinho gets injured, the upper playmaker could be Ibra or Binho, but we'll play them at second striker in 4-3-1-2 and insert Seedorf at ACM. The use of Seedorf is tricky, he could be in the core or not. So Milan will have the line-up: -------------------------Abbi/Ame-------------------------- --RB----------Nesta----------------Silva-------------LB-- ---------------------------Pirlo------------------------------ -----------Flamini/Seedorf------------Ambro------------- --Pato/Binho-------------------------------------Dinho-- --------------------------Ibra/Pato------------------------- (Seedorf plays against small teams or sub in for tactical change) If there is no injury. The injuries of GK, CBs & DMs won't affect the formation, but: If Pirlo gets injuried: The mids trio will be 3 CMs flat or with 2 DMs 1 CM/ACM. Seedorf is in the central, Merkel or Strasser may have their chances. If Dinho gets injuried: We won't be forced to play 4-3-3 Binho is not so creative, Ibra is good enough but second striker is a bit far, so an ACM is needed:-------------------------Abbi/Ame-------------------------- --RB----------Nesta----------------Silva-------------LB-- ---------------------------Pirlo------------------------------ -----------Flamini----------------------Ambro------------- --------------------------Seedorf--------------------------- ------------------------------------Ibra/Binho-------------- --------------------Pato/Ibra------------------------------- The core only is very competitive, the core + forwards is dominating, the core + forwards + fullbacks is a team of the decace or even century ![]() Just my oppinion. |

Aficio, i like ur point about the core but if Flamini doesn't reach his Arsenal levels we can't really rely on him to be a cornerstone of the team. Let's not forget that he's a card - magnet. IMO Ambro'll be a better bet than F84, cos apart from the fact that he's very influential (Long passing range, excellently timed tackles, occasional important goal etc etc), he's probably the best header of the ball in the team.

We have no choice but believe in the players, shegs.
Allegri seems like a coach who knows how to put faith in his men. If Flamini fails, there is Boateng to try. Last match, I don't think Allegri used the Ghanaian as vice-Pato but a box-to-box midfielder alongside Rino. After the introduction of the 2, Lecce couldn't press us and we even attacked better on the right wing with Rino, Boateng & Bonera with Rino as the ball distributor. Well, we have a goal, though a bit lucky. If Allegri could change Seedorf to a diligent player, change Rino to a better player with the ball, he can also help Flamini & Boateng to be more useful for the team. IMO, he even did something for thinner Dinho. If that was true, we can just enjoy watching, like Geo said. ![]() |

Carlo Pellegatti, journalist of Mediaset thinks that Robinho can also play as midfielder (ACM)
alongside Pirlo and Ambrosini, just behind the trident of Pato, Ronaldinho and Ibra Pellegatti:I think that this solution is possible and should work also think that Allegri will try it" |

Mark Hughes did actually play Robinho in that position during his time in Man City, and it did work quite well with him running up to support. The only thing is that he has a tendancy to drift to the left, in which he would leave space open up the middle of the park, should he lose the ball. Also, given their passing styles, I would prefer Ronnie over Binho in that position, because Ronnie, like Pirlo and Beckham, can spray the ball from just about any angle he wants. ![]() I say give it a try, because I seriously want to see them play all 4 together.
