One of our rumoured targets of the summer is going to play some minutes with the French NT (Gameiro) ... He's going to replace Saha who just came in and is already injured (Saha is the most fragile player in the world !!).

We all know know Hunter is a quality finisher, Galliani knew it, thats why he signed him, Allegri knew that, everyone knows it. He just did not shine for us, maybe due to poor service, not playing and all that. Galliani didnt want to let him go because he knew what Hunter can do, but ones Ibra and Robinho arrived, then it was ok for him to go. It obviuose we got better players now.

we had two solutions,

1 keep huntelaar, and change the midfield and they way we play
2 sell huntelaar and bring someone who can take care of his own

we took the cheaper solution, classic #9 can't be working with a formation like this, especially of the squad we have (inzaghi is a one of a kind)

we cant play 442 since we dont have wide useful midfielders (abate, janku are just crap)

labenese great post.. its true he didn't fit into our formation hes a pure striker, if you gave him the ball at midfield he wouldnt know what to do. the difference is if ibra or robi got it at midfield theirs even a posibility of a solo effort.. or even outside the box.. i dont think ive seen huntelaar take on many defenders and score // hunter none the less is a good player, but ibra and robi are world class

Now here is the deal. Last season every one here was going crazy about the lack of depth, quality, movement & creativity etc etc of the midfield. The only new addition is KPB & I get the impression that most of the ACM fans don't rate him highly.

What makes you guys think that same so called slow & old midfield would not repeat the same thing which they did last season? Unless you think KPB is the difference maker, there is a huge point of worry here To win a league you need a Lampard, Xavi, Iniesta, Bastian-S, Sneijder & Ballack type of a midfielder. Does AC Milan has that kind of a player? Do you guys believe in Pirlo to deliver? I have my doubts here

Until now, Boateng hasn't showed something really special.

The mids are almost the same but with more movement, even Seedorf looks like Speedorf, and the introduction of Merkel.

So Pirlo will have the target to pass.

Both Dinho & Pirlo are great playmakers, but they are different.

- Dinho is a quick passer who passes the ball to the space where opponent can't reach. Problem is sometimes even teammates couldn't catch it.

- Pirlo is a "thinking" passer. He calculates how to let his teammates get the ball easily to continue the flow.

Pirlo's style is therefore slower, and if his teammate doesn't move, his passes could be predicted. He plays deep, so each wrong pass will be very dangerous.

Dinho plays higher and even if his pass doesn't reach, it still looks very intelligent & creative, leads to assists, and of course, not harm.

Yes, the difference is not absolute, but it exist.

He will have moving players around him (possibly Flamini and/or Boateng, Robinho and/or Pato) + 2 easy targets (Ibrahimovic with his size, and Ronaldinho if Pirlo is unable to produce a good pass).

Last year, around him, he had only Pato for some games and Ronaldinho when he was in a good form.

And it's not about pace/speed, it's only about the way the players move, they can move slowly but move, it will be a good thing if they do it for 90 minutes and a big new step compared to last year.

Out of topic: Subscriptions for CL increase every day ... it looks like San Siro will be again the home of Il Diavolo in CL !! 27200 subscriptions have been sold for CL (22103 last year) but only 24492 for Serie A (25780 last year).

I think even Pato's passes will get better, too.

He has the ability of putting the ball where he wants. However, playmaker is not his main role, and with the static teammates, he found it hard to pass.

And... he has been the player who moves the most so it is harder for him to find a target. Dinho was marked, Borri is not very good at off the ball, and back pass is not a right solution for a forward.

When Hunter scores, we can now think objectively why Hunter couldn't prove his quality with Milan. When he failed to score with Milan, many would blame him in a second. LOL

Good for him and Schalke really got good price (but if we compare Ibra prize, what Schalke got is in normal price though ).

Schalke will be a serious force in the UCL this season. Mark my worlds.They have signed some great players. Metzelder, Raul & now Huntelaar.

well its a tough call, i would be surprised if they make it out the group stages, but hey good luck for them they have 3 superstars .

You can't compare Huntelaar's hattrick vs San Marino and Zlatans 0 goals vs Hungary.
a) San Marino is far worse than Hungary. San Marino regularly loses with 6-0 type results (Germany won 13-0 last time, in S. Marino)
b) Holland is a far better team than Sweden. They made to the WC final, Sweden didn't even qualify.

Seems like the rumors about the Gazprom deal are heating up again. Supposedly they'll buy 20-30% for 150-200M euros.

Well, they're bad, as simple as that ?
There were some missing players (and I think they'll also lose in Bosnia next Tuesday), but that's not the main reason.

Blanc tries to build a new team by taking new players AND some of the former ones.

While taking Lloris isn't a bad choice, when I see Blanc sending Sagna and Clichy on the pitch, or when you see Hoarau (the guy who wins all headers but his headers are systematically passes to the opponents) as main target man, etc ... You understand this team can't do anything good.

Flamini as a RB would do 5 times better than Sagna ... and Flamini isn't a RB, that shows the level of Sagna. As a LB, Clichy just does nothing, not very good behind, not very good forward, it looks like this "hyped" player isn't as good as the hype tells ...

I just watched the last 25 minutes (I watched Italy before), and they simply did nothing at all as a team, never managed to be dangerous. This French NT isn't a team, and there isn't any potential player able to win the game by himself (which is needed when a team doesn't play like a team).

So it's a normal result, France will probably end 3rd or 4th of this group !!
