Seriously start watching the games and spouting crap about his qualities. He's no Maicon or Alves, both of whom play in great teams and utilised correctly, but's on the level with Lahm & Evra imo. Nothing special about them.

The difference between Van Basten then and Ibra now is not about asking either to go back and help in defence which Van Basten did, but to actually put pressure on the ball in their area when we don't have the ball, which again, Van Basten did. Our success relies as much on what the forwards do without the ball, than with the ball.

You don't get a perfect system by not working on every detail. You say it as if it was just a fluke. The small details are the keys to success, not the big picture.

OK, this is not the topic, Antonini is NOT a bad player, again, he's good squad player, but seriously when was the last time you saw him do anything with the ball which is not pass it to Silva, Pirlo or Ronaldinho, something more than 4-5 meter pass? And he's not near Lahm's level. Lahm is overrated, but he can make a run passing 2-3 player and make a cross that results in a goal, something Antonini can't do on his best day.

About tactical details again: "tactical detail" is when Capello limits Boban to stay on the side all the time against Barcelona in 94 finals (and not to float around like usual), to avoid "draft" on the sides, because Barcelona was dangerous on the sides. Sacchi would never do that, because his system was so good that when a player on that position (Donadoni) went to the middle there's always someone (Ancelotti usually) who would cover the side. Off the ball movement was so good that it couldn't happen that opposition plays quick counter though ANY channel and that we're lacking players to cover because someone just changed his position for a moment.

I think football nowadays absorbs the idea of Sacchi very well. This could be seen in last World Cup at tactical focused teams like: Holland, Germany, Ghana,... Ex: Van Bronkhost followed his man, Iniesta, even when this player drift to the center, Kuyt knew that, went back to defend the left.

It is sad that Milan, especially last year couldn't have this mutual cooperation, even worse. Watching Gary Neville ran from RB to half our field without any preventing from Dinho, Ambro & Janku, then crossed to Rooney, it was really painful. Milan worked like a machine, front 3 attacked, mid 3 passed to front 3 and stay deep. Part of it was Leo's inexperience, but we also lacked the right players.

Watching Dinho & Pato come deep to get ball and the mids go forward more make me believe in a great season. Let's see if the good run continues.

IMO I'd like him to be a Boban type of player with more skill, capable of playing all midfield positions like seedorf does. he is at early stage of his career, lot of upsides to develope,lot of uncertainty too.

I always remember zidanes' early days in junventus,he played a defensive midfield which was not his nature position back in french league,and in that DM period,he evolved into a master.

This guy is free. It is no problem to add depth to DMs part like we have done with CBs. No harm in doing so.

Height & strength are not really important, but having these can help sometimes.

That's not going to happen. Kaka is smart enough to know that he shouldn't join Inter.

If it were true, then it's just something we'd have to accept. Ibrahimovic was an Inter champion so we'd get to taste the other side of things if Inter brought Kaka.

The only difference i would say would be in the player. I think there's a good chance Kaka would turn down the move due to his affinity to us and his own personal nature (i think Ibrahimovic is a bit more self-centered). However, i wouldn't rule it out completely. We'll have to wait and see!

One thing i don't think has any credit though is that Inter are 'tired of us always signing their players'. The majority of the players that have made the switch have been players they didn't want which we then turned into better players. It's not our problem if they didn't give them the opportunities they needed to flourish.

you are right. it is eventually up to the player. and both players have their reputation to uphold. Kaka wants to look loyal, and Ibrahimovic ....... never mind!

We don't need free players, what we need quality players. Don't worry about the money for the transfer, Galliani will find the way to manage to buy the player.

If Ricky joined Inter based purely on his ability now we would have no worries, he relied on his exsplosive turn of pace and speed with the ball which he seems to have lost with all the knee operations he has to have.

He is a 22 years old 1m93 french DM/AM who played for Le Mans (just relegated out of 1st French Liga)

We need depth now, mate. We need patience with the promising Flamini & Boateng and the veterean Rino & Ambro, while Strasser & Merkel need easy matches first.

A tall, physcal player who earn not much is welcome, let give him a trial.

Ibra is another case, but player like Goulon & Onyewu are useful sometimes, at least for heading training

Isn't that Goulon kid supposed to be on trial or something? I think he could go to prison for a while, which is why nobody signed him during the summer mercato.
