How do you follow ac milan?

Novasports, Coneex-TV are private channels (paying), they saw Milan a lot, i follow the foreign websights and the Greek ones

I mainly use streaming to watch our games (myp2p.eu => if there is a good Veetle link, I try to get it, and if there is nothing good, adthe.net).

Sometimes, I can watch on TV, but while here, a lot of people seem happy that our games are going to be played at evenings, I'm not because on Saturdays, in France, they'll show some Liga games (Real or Barcelona, even against a small team), and on Sundays, it is Ligue 1 on the main channel and depending on the game in Serie A, they show the Serie A game or another game from another country but not live (mainly Liga again) ...

Canal + group bought the exclusive rights for Serie A this year in France, so I hope, with the new schedule, that they will show more games than the past few years (my hopes are that we play on Saturdays at 18:00, on Sundays at 12:30 if I'm not wrong, why not 15:00, but trying to avoid the 20:45 games if possible, unless we start to win most of our games and play well, they would show the team this way).

Then, about websites, this forum is an amazing place to get news (but not only, it's always interesting to debate, especially here ), along with Tuttomercatoweb.com.

For years Seria A has been shown on several FTA television channels in Indonesia along with the EPL. But not this year. The latter must have exceptional PR/marketing because eventhough the price for exclusive right rises 100% this year a local media group here managed to buy it for 3 years. That means 5 live games everyweek and other 5 delay games on the rest of weekdays. Plus 2-3 La Liga games everyweek I guess it ain't so bad huh? But I'd be glad to give up those for a single Milan game per week.


So, this year I can only watch our beloved club in UCL games.

I remember back in the 90s when it was just World Soccer Magazine and having my grandma translate week-old Gazzetta dello Sport issues for me (on the plus side I always knew which players were Toscani) to find out how Milan were doing. And sometimes week old tapings of matches on RAI. Y'all ki9ds today don't know how good it is now, what with cable TV and the Internets...

When I started following Milan and was in Canada (early 90s) there was nothing on TV and of course no internet either. Late 80s, before I came to Canada, I was able to watch the likes of the Steaua final and other games...late 80s where it all started

I also use Justin TV as the last option. 4-5 years ago I used to watch ACM UCL matches on ESPN-star Asia & man it really looked awesome. The San Siro & red&black colors of AC Milan looked mind blowing. The build up to the UCL games were also great. Then in June-July 2006, ESPN-star Asia lost the rights of UCL coverage in South Asia. The UCL was/is then shown on a channel called Tensports. The quality of that channel is just pathetic & even some times the sound is missing i.e UCL matches without commentary

Some times I get to see ACM matches on a South African sports channel called Super Sports 3, which is a decent channel but still no where near the quality which I used to see 5-6 years ago.

As for the Serie-A matches, sometimes its Super Sports 3 & mostly its the streaming sites like Justin TV & atdhe.net. But the good news for me is that the pathetic Tensports channel will show Serie-A matches this time around

Plus I follow Goal.com (don't why many MM members have problem with that great site) & footballpress.net etc for transfers news stuff.

& of course there is a small matter of Milanmania

And anyway, nowadays, I don't live like an European man, I don't really see mornings as they start when I'm starting to be asleep !! So it could be possible to be here day and night !!

I'm going to try to go in Auxerre to see Auxerre-Milan I think, I will look for the price and how to go there from my place ... Would be amazing to see Milan in real for the first time in my life !!

WOW, that's great. You must go & please take some cool pics as well. Get an autograph from Nesta if possible & also tell Inzaghi to please retire next season so that we don't have to sacrifice players like Gilardino & Huntelaar.

Here is my story: I started supporting Milan also in late 80s. I didn't watch WC'86. No interest in football whatsoever back then. That was changed after Euro'88. Though I didn't watch it either, months later I got a chance to watch a video highlights/review of that tournament, and absolutely loved the Dutch trio. That was when I first learned about this team AC Milan. I started to look for any information from the Chinese newspaper, tv, even radio. Very little and almost always late, sometimes two weeks late, but I was very happy. A friend of mine was decent with English, so I begged him to listen to BBC Sports News on radio for me, but the problem is sometimes I didn't even know the schedule of Milan's game, and BBC only cared to cover Milan's news when it was an European Cup game or when Milan was running riot unbeaten domestically. Can you believe that I was only able to watch two Milan games live on TV - the two back to back Toyota Cups which China's TV station decided to broadcast live. Then in 1990, I watched every single minute of WC'90 and fell in love with Italy NT (it is funny by the way, I no longer support Holland and almost hate them but Italy is still my #1 team, however much they suck).

I believe that I started to systematically follow Milan's games around 1989. Chinese CCTV started to show Serie A, but there was always at least a one-week delay. The program played one game in full and the rest in maybe 2-minute highlight for each game, but at least I got to watch Milan regularly week in and week out (full match or just the highlight). And even with that delay, it was like live anyway, as I had no way to find out the scoreline before it was shown on TV in China. I remember Inter Milan won the Scudetto that year with a record 58 points, but I absolutely that team. I always have a soft spot for teams like Parma, Torino, Lazio, Sampdoria, or Roma, I still can't explain, but I just hated Inter Merda. I actually liked their players like Klinsmann, Bergomi, Serena, but hated the team. It must be the color, I guess.

After a few seasons, in 1993-94 Chinese CCTV started to broadcast live one Serie A game per week, and every week I was praying it was Milan's game they chose, and as I was in college and we had neither TV nor power in our dorm past the "bedtime", I had to beg my friend who lived locally to take me. He was not a football fan, and nobody in his family was neither. It was very awkward, and I just left quietly after the 2-hour game when they were all asleep. The following few years China witnessed huge change in football TV, even without Internet. You have to know how fanatic Chinese fans are.

After I moved to the States ten years ago, everything was changed. No "soccer" anymore on a regular basis. ESPN was not enough, and they didn't carry Serie A either. I had a very difficult time following Milan. True, I did follow Milan's every game and managed to get all the results and news but it was so frustrating when you could only follow livescore.com instead of watching it on TV, especially after you could (in China). Starting about 2003(?), I was able to watch some Milan game on Internet, but it was so crappy that it was like playing a slide show. I had a lot more posts in Milanmania back then, mostly because I was following the game through posting or chatting with people who were actually watching.

Well, now it is all different (since 2006?). With Sopcast, TVU, PPStream, adthe, Justin, you name it, I am now able to watch basically every single game in the past few seasons. I remember the only one game I wasn't able to watch was when we lost to Napoli 1-3 at San Paolo and missed out on CL berth most recently. That was a strange game and obviously there was some special arrangement to prohibit the broadcast, as all I could see was the stadium and fans, and listened to the Italian commentary which I didn't understand. Extremely frustrating, also because that Milan lost, after they just beat Inter 2-1 in the previous week.

Can't believe that I now could watch even games like Milan-Varase! and without having to subscribe the ESPN. Technology has changed the shape of our life, in a good way of course. But somehow I miss the old time when I could share with my friends eye-to-eye (nothing wrong with an Internet forum), or rub it to my Merda-fan friends. You just don't find that in the US.

When I was growing up in the 70s the only European club matches we got here in the U.S. were England's FA Cup final once a year on tape delay on the old Wide World of Sports program, so I knew nothing of Milan. We didn't even get the World Cup except for the final. Sometimes they showed games from the old North American Soccer League.

But in 1985 our family got one of those old backyard satellite dishes. At the time everything (HBO, Showtime, porn channels -- everything) was free and in the clear. I began picking up feeds of games from Italy, England and Holland that were beamed to the U.S. to be shown in bars. That's when I became attracted to Milan.

dang I didn't think the US would be so far behind in the football world....

here in Canada I can watch Serie A on FOUR different channels this year: Rai International, Fox, The Score, TLN..90% of the time a Milan game is on and if it's not there's always streaming...

Champions Legue this year will be on 3 channels: Setanta, RDS (montreal channel), Rogers Sportsnet, (maybe TSN but as far as I know they lost the rights Rogers).

La Liga: Gol TV

EPL: The Score, Rogers

Bundesliga: Gol TV

Europa Cup: Gol TV, TLN

I mean, Montreal is a great city you all should move here

But even better, is the TV coverage in the middle east. We have Al Jazeera sports that have about 12 channels that broadcast every single Serie A game live every week, La Liga, Champs League, Europa League, Brazilian, Argentinean, SCottish, Dutch leagues, All the world cups and Euro cups... amazing.

We have great coverage now (I noted that earlier in the thread, but was just adding a bit of history in the above post as others have done). I see almost every Milan game on Fox Soccer Channel -- usually they show three live Serie A games every weekend -- and we also get EPL on both Fox (three games) and ESPN (one). ESPN was also showing La Liga last year. Not sure if they plan to do it again this year or not. We also get Champions League on Fox and some Euro qualifiers. I'm a bit bummed out that FSC seems to have completely stopped showing the games from Argentina this year after showing them only on tape delay last year (Boca Juniors is my second favorite team behind Milan). But I can't complain.

I've always thought Montreal and Canada in general would be a great place to live though. If only it weren't so damned cold!
